Timberline gardens in Arvada takes the cake for quality organic local nurseries. Paulino....lol
One friend has been growing in this area for over 5 years and another almost 10. I think I'm getting some good input regarding weather and varietals that work well. That's what you think. JBomber knows what he's talking about. Don't ever listen to the weather bitches when it comes to last and first frost. Last frost the past 2 years has been weeks later than they predicted and 1month+ early in the fall. Good luck!
Personally I never charge more than $70 for 13 seeds, but i'm a minority.
Jhhnn, seeing you talk about CO has been the most instrumental factor in my decision to move there, I think. Of all the things I've read about the cannabis laws there and how they have or have not affected life in the state, it's your posts I've learned the most from. The way I see it, I don't need a "medical scene." I just need to be free to grow my own medicine and I'll medicate myself, as I've always done. I just don't want to raise my kids in an environment where I'm always afraid I'll get caught and go to jail.

weren't they trying to pass a bill saying if you grew or kept personal amounts that it was endangering a child's safety or some b.s?
I'm lucky enough to have good friends who donate seeds or trade. I work at a sandwich shop and we trade for flowers 3x a week, hopefully seeds soon.
Shop Paulino Gardens for a few oddball items you cannot seem to get at other places but they are expensive on certain things. They have good prices on lime, bulk alfalfa, kelp buckets and the worm castings are expensive but ultra high quality I bet. Local castings from colorado I have purchased there. They also have stuff like azamite, magneseiem (epsom salts) for super soil ingredients.LOL. I was just cracking on Paulino Gardens. My own fault for paying more, not theirs.
It's absolutely true that their selection is unbeatable and they are extremely knowledgeable. Prices are higher, but probably the best overall nursery in town.
Very cool, MrTea.
Do you use mixed fruits and veggies for different FPEs or are they single plant? (had to do some reading just to find out what those were!) And do you add a dash of the vino for bacteria?
And when you say rich mulch do you mean some kind of mixture of similar f&v's as a top dressing of some sort?
BGS(Big grow supply) has pricing on coco and ffof, castings ect. It was crazy there this past saturday. Big event and made out like a champ. Certain items will never have to purchase again crazyness. If you were there you know what I mean. Dabs, girls, free drinks, vendors giving away the farm in samples. Water slides, 4 pigs roasted, bands and insanity until 12am.
I usually stick within Gil's boundaries for the fpe's. The dude knows more than most people out there.
I don't add "vino". However I will have some BIM I cultivated which I will put a dash in each fpe. Basically I puree the whole fruit or vegetable, seed and all. To this I add equal parts by weight organic sugar of some kind. I ferment it for 7-10 days and extract the juice. Once fermentation is complete I will then combine all of the separate jars for a powerhouse bloom fertilizer (or whatever fpe I am making). When mixing such small amounts of this in water I don't mind spraying it on my flowers 4+ weeks in.
My mulch consists of leaf clippings, alfalfa hay, barley straw, lavender, rose petals, and whatever else I find enjoyable to pluck from my garden and toss on the toplayer. As you can see, plants are healthy as can be when shown love through the natural farming method. These are very old Korean methods of farming so I like to think I am getting back to humanity's roots when growing this way. Very cheap and self sustainable method and not only that, but I've only been growing 4 years and can pump out dankness without having to try hard at all. It's so easy to produce fire with these methods.

Usually make a trip or two a year. They have potential at that place if they changed a few things. Did see they had composting worms but in smaller sizes. Should sell them by the 1000's or pounds if they wanted to do real business. Nicks in Aurora is not bad for items.

Love your methods. Looking forward to trying some of these ideas.
