there is no application that lets you grow unlimited plants. if you are a patient, and your ailment is appropriate, your doctor can recommend a higher volume of plants based on preparation of edibles and such which can require more than if you were just smoking and that is likely defend-able in court (like for a severely disabled close friend of mine), but otherwise that is pretty much how it works.
The dispensaries are largely working in grey areas of the law for a lot of their customers and they way that most of them have larger volumes of plants is their customer base signs the dispensary up as their 'caregiver' which allows the dispensary to grow that patients number of plants for that patient...they get enough patients - they can have enough finished product on hand to serve their patients and other 'non-member' patients and can grow (or apparently sub-contract the grow as the case apparently is sometimes) up to x number of plants per patient that they are caregiver for.
Theoritically you could be a caregiver for a bunch of patients if you werent a dispensary too and be legal to grow more than 6 that way...but thats where all the drama is currently with the legal system out here - what consitutes a 'caregiver' etc. etc.
-- in my case, i am a caregiver for myself and my wife and a close friend who is disabled and I actually do help take care of him in a variety of ways outside of helping him with medicine that he couldnt produce or necessarily afford otherwise. As such, I'm as legit as possible regardless of changes to restrictions to the 'caregiver' relationship, but its the dispensaries that will be affected by such laws.

hope that helps.

And the 6 plants, is 3 in flower 3 in veg. You can't have more than 3 flowering plants at anyone time without a doctors recommendation.

I've been looking at the hawaiian , how is it? Looks nice.

That looks nice. SLH was a cup winner wasn't it?
yeah, I'm kind of a lemon junky. That SD is looking fine!

I love the hawiian. really nice smooth tasting with good yields. i just pulled down the momma these girls came from and i got 10 1/2 oz's under a 600hps in a bubbler bucket converted to dwc.

Ive heard they are meeting about howing to go about issuing commercial growing liscenses to applicants so that they can tax the wholesale of medicinal cannabis to dispensaries/collectives/caregivers.

When and where is this meeting? Who is going to be deciding this?

i hear rumors about a whole sale association?
it was explained to me this way:
say you can grow for 2 people and posses 4 oz. if you grow your 6 plants out, and harvest 8 oz. you would be able to sell these extras to the wholesale.
it would be a consistent place for caregivers to get rid of 'surplus medication', it will also allow dispensaries a place to go get medicine if/when they need it.

not sure how it will all work, but atleast people are starting to think of other ways ten growers connecting directly with dispensaries.
we will see how it goes :)

Where are these rumors coming from? Just curious. I feel like I'm out of the loop. Also does anyone know what the Dept of Health is doing? I'm trying to stay on top of these things. Just been working extra hard lately.

And the 6 plants, is 3 in flower 3 in veg. You can't have more than 3 flowering plants at anyone time without a doctors recommendation.

I think this idea that you must have a physician's recommendation for excess plants comes from a misunderstanding of the affirmative defense.

Here's the language regarding plant counts exceeding the guidelines, and the affirmative defense of medical necessity. Notice it says nothing about a physicians recommendation as being required for plant counts that exceed the guidelines.

(b) For quantities of marijuana in excess of these amounts, a patient or his or her primary care-giver may raise as an affirmative defense to charges of violation of state law that such greater amounts were medically necessary to address the patient's debilitating medical condition.

The affirmative defense gives you a legal basis to make the argument in court that you require the extra plants due to your medical condition.

A doctor's recommendation for the extra plants might be helpful in arguing your case, but is not a legal prerequisite to do so. I believe that's why people are being advised to get the doctor's recommendation for plant counts above the guidelines. Lawyers are doing what they do.

No offense intended here cobcoop; just clarification.
