those ebb and gro make plants explode!

I was doing DWC bubble buckets that really kicked ass. Just to hard to manage that with big trees ph,nutes, no common rez for a water buffer etc... If I had the dough, a under current is what I would have went with. So I'm looking at building one right now.
Save the ebb N gro for a edible grow my bro is doing. He plans on using just buds for his edible's and doing a water cure... Ive tasted some of the stuff and it has no "hay" taste, and strong... You wont find me drowning buds in water... It will be interesting to see the process first hand...

damn mule, i wish i had that much space!
looking good and welcome :)

It didn't start out big, it just evolved into it... When all my old bro's with cards tasted some of my home grown :) It helped they couldn't keep a chi pet alive... I filled my CG max out pretty fast with just old broken friends... Now I will need a lot of Mom's, and just run a few plants into flower with 1284 passing... I intend to get on with breeding, making seeds, or running some elites with lower yields... They thought the stuff before was potent :nanana: Peace and puffs

I read something about this, the water pulls out the chlorophyll much faster than air drying. I'd like to see (and smoke) the results, only because I'm *cough* skeptical....

From what Ive seen it takes bag appeal to 0... I have yet to smoke any, he use's it all for edibles,I might try smoking some at a later date... You wont see me putting buds in water!!! It just takes the grass taste off the edibles from what he tells me... Peace and puffs

from what I have read it takes the smoke appeal to 0 as well, but its a great way to cure weed for edibles, which would make perfect sense.

Thanks for the input on the hydro stuff guys. I should clarify, I'm not interested because it would make anything easier, I'm interested because I see the power of the undercurrent and mpb systems.

I think I'm gonna try something, but not for a long while.

Meanwhile, I believe I did pretty good with the scrog as far as training goes.

This was 16ish days ago at the flip:

It's crazy how much sense this makes, I mean I've always known, but seeing is believing. There is a future cola (or three!) in each and every hole. I'm hoping for 5 oz a plant minimum, with every bud in prime location I think that shouldn't be a huge issue.

I have another project that is a totally different style of growing I'm excited to share, just need some time to get over there with the camera.

Hope everyone is well!

Looks real good man! Kinda hard to tell from the pics, but did you weave the branches into the screen, or just let them each occupy a different hole? Also hemp funk or anyone else, is it best to weave the branches once into the screen when they stop stretch, or weave them earlier and more often?

Got those sonja's crackin off?

I can get 1.4 g/W out of dirt, you just have to use a large volume of it. It's also cheap (cheap as dirt anyway), never needs to be replaced, and organic. There's nothing to break or go wrong besides the gardener. I'm not sure, but I'd guess 99.9% of hydro systems won't outyield dirt. Quality is a personal preference, hydro can look more frosty with some strains, but I think organics produces better potency and high.... Now I'll shutup before mopho, rednick and mule kick my a$$.

SCROG Looks great.

it's best to weave them in and out of the net during the stretch, pretty much every other day, if not everyday... Then @ 2 weeks in I will clip all the undergrowth that didn't make it to the net off and pretty much loli-pop the plants..I didn't pop those Ultra sonja's yet..( I'll get to them eventually.)

Scrog madness in here! I love it! Ok as far as weaving goes, I weave during veg, as opposed to just keeping them under the screen, and it seems that has been working well for me. My screen is poultry netting though, I have been kicking around the idea of a larger screen, but We will see.

Here is an update of my outdoor black berry kush, atleast thats what I was told it was.

They look like they are about done stretching, but its hard to tell with outdoor.

The whole garden overgrew this year...This plant and the atlantic pumpkins are all I cared about, but the pumpkins aren't doing anything but growing vines.

Ya I have many tom plants, you might be able to see them in that jungle somewhere. I also have some 5ft tomatillos, but I can not for the life of me get them to stand straight, They completely owned the tom cages I put around them. I also have about 15 pepper plants, from green bell peppers, to habeneros to jalepenos to you name it. Tried a Jap pepper the other night and it was not ready yet, not hot at all. Next year I will completely re work my garden, kinda just threw stuff in there this year. I will def. have some more mmj plants and hopefully be better at training them, the fence is 36 inches tall, and they are peaking over.

What do you think about a cover for the garden, some painter plastic or such? Do you think if the weather keeps up the way it has I will have to worry about mold on the buds?? I grew a lot outdoors when I was in Maine, but this is a first in CO.

Lets talk mpb/under current systems..

I am a total newb when it comes to any soiless/hydro style grow, but threads like jackmayeroff or whatever on the other site are very inspiring! I just checked out the under current systems and like that they aren't DIY and have customer support.. I know there are many many hydro experts on this thread. So..

1. Is this style grow doable with one or two buckets and a small reservoir?

(In other words could I do a mini mpb/undercurrent along side some soil plants in a 5x5 tent?)

The reason for that question is because again, I've never grown any other style than soil, but curiosity is making me wonder how well I could do in this application. I just can't commit an entire run to experimenting with this thing and making mistakes.

2. If question 1 is a go, is it worth the expense to to just do the 2 bucket system?

I'd probably go with canna nutes and figure tht as an expense, but how about chiller etc..

3. If #1 is not possible, can someone recommend a single bucket style hydro system that is as simple and small (meaning I don't have room for some massive reservoir) that would be a good way for me to get a handle on growing sans soil.

Let me know what ya think, there is a voice inside me repeating over and over "I wonder if I can maintain the SAME quality if I tried the hydro route".

Honestly I'm just cranky andtired of dealing with soil. Not growing in soil, but soil itself.

Thanks

Cheers!
self. whats up with soil?
Whats got you down?
Can I say, compost teas have made me happy with soil again. I have recycled all of my soil for over a year with compost teas and an ass load of myco. But I'm a fan of if it aint broke don't fix it. and bro, your shit aint broke.by a long shot.

I wanted to try a few buckets one of these days under current looks cool.. But i doubt i would switch from soil..
i should recycle it instead of filling the landfills with it. It does get heavy even in my micro setup.

Is it a myth or have all the cup winners been grown in soil?
