If i had an 8ft ceiling,i so would've made that jump.My ballasts are DE ready but i know with my 7 ft ceiling it's risky unless i keep the plants really short or run it down to 600W which imo is counter productive...Only a few of my ballasts do 750W,the rest go down to 600W.So i guess i am stuck with the 1K for now.

If you got height a gavitas will work but 2,of those lec315s will be much more ideal for your situation... easy to cool less power n will cover the small space better. But if u got the height and cooling a gavitas will work..

i know it will work i wont be spending 1000 on 2 sun systems. i rather build cobs if thats the case.

my question still stands for dji. i dont need to know anything else but what i have asked. and i wont use a 350 watter or 2 350 watter my question simple. should i get gavita 1000 and use it on the 6x4 space or get a regular 1000w and chage my room to a 5.5x5.5

On post 58. But I saw you are winding down in 2017. So a sincere thank you for taking the time out of your days to pass on info that some of us may never have got to read about.

Regards Dep.

AMAZING thread here. I am longtime lurker dating back to overgrow, but the LIBRARY of knowledge in this thread deserves a sincere THANK YOU DJM.

I have saved a ton of information onto my own notes if that is straight with you. I really hope you do consolidate your methods and technique into one downloadable source. You say you are against selling it, but your contribution here is PRICELESS and has no doubt improved the lives of the people open minded enough to utilize your experience.

My experience has been with organic soil growing trees, but this thread has me seriously considering going to DJM coco trees.

Good vibrations to everyone and to the Don especially.

Finally tagging in.

Finally tagging in.

I changed up my whole set up because of this thread.

This is the #1 source for coco growing info I have found yet. I just copied as much as I could.

I learned a lot about how to properly set up a room. I was skeptical at first but the way it was explained here made so much sense as soon as I heard something similar from a reputable source, I was all over it.

I have way more control over the things that I can control now.

One of the major points I liked was we shouldn't be going below 65% rh (depending on...) but for the most part if we wouldn't want the drying process to get below 65 we should strive to keep it at least at that point.

I heard a very similar theory regarding temps. I listened to a wonderful lesson on drying and curing from the Wonderland nursery director and learned that 82 deg should be the upper temperature limit due to that being the point where we start to "burn" the terps.

It makes a lot of sense to me and was wondering, how do some of you all with controllers balance out your temps vs rh?

Big ups to DJM and the whole crew.:tiphat:

Well my setup ain't perfect but I got a controller that I plug my Co2burner, dehuey, 2 back up acs on... the way my room runs @ low/mid 70s the 4 main ac keep it right @ 55-60% but if I raise the temperature to 80s my largest ac doesn't hardly run and humidity rises to vpd range... my dehuey never runs when lights are on do to me programming the range I want it to be in during lights on... now where me n dj differ is I only run vpd for the 1rst 3 wks of flower the drop my temps n humidity .back to normal range.. I've noticed i get higher quality flowers this way ... the vpd straight thru gave me larger yields but buds weren't as resinous or smelly, remember every one's grow locations is different , pretty sure bout his air exchange being the factor n why I couldn't get the same quality running vpd straight thru ,what dj did here would be impossible to replicate where I'm located without a huge lung room so keep in mind when building what's going on outside

mind blown, I've been walking around with a big stupid shit eating grin on my face.

replaced a 5 tonne ac with a 12" blower pushing air into my room achieving the impossible (up till now) perfect VPD. easily cooling 12000w dimmed down to 9600w (gavita DE) 16'X16' growing area with 10' ceilings

no ac

no ac

no ac

still in shock

push air don't pull air, goes against everything i "know". still lots of watching and learning about how this change affects everything going forward but WTF!!!

Thank you DJM, 25 plus years I've been lighting up basements and garages from Cali to bc and you just done schooled me. stoked!

is there anything i can do for you? you need a goffer? someone to make you coffee? I'm down, work for free.

any organized format of your growing techniques i.e. a grow guide would be well received. you've elegantly solved a lot of the issues I've encountered over the years growing indoors in less then ideal spaces. theres a lot of people that could benefit from your experience.

sorry for the gushing I've been walking on clouds all day.

Sad that you're retiring. I know somewhat how you feel. While not as accomplished as you, I see things I contributed towards in the 90's and 2000's making people a lot of money while I struggle. I don't want to be rich, but it would be nice to be able to share and not have someone take it and bastardize it, while cutting you and your brethren out of it. As all have mentioned (except for the haters) thanks for your contributions over the years.
