Super curious about this machine.

What is the make and model of this dry trimmer? Fantastic grow bud. Nice job.

was there any update on the machine? wondering what model it is….you dont have to do any cleaning up after the machine? my homie used a dry trimmer and it does a good job but he had to pay someone 50 a LB to clean off some of the "duck feet" and leaf that it left.

I can answer that question for ya @Yes4Prop215 as I've already asked DJM, he uses the smaller model of the TrimPal think it retails for like $3,700.

Trim Pal for the win, we used two of them to process our entire garden last year and I can't speak highly enough of the quality job it did. We also did exactly that, hourly for the entire breakdown of the garden, bucking etc and then 50 a unit to clean up any left over which was minimal.

Thanks for posting up on here DJM, this thread is chalk full of great info and big respect for taking the time to present the plant properly. I was curious if you reuse your coco tho? When you start getting into the 40+ lights area medium adds up as well as your time with multiple trips to the store, dump etc. With your plants being so rootbound I would imagine you buy fresh coco but if you do recycle it would be great to hear your methodology. Hope alls breezy and easy with you.

DJM... are the strains you are growing inherently mold/mildew resistant or do you attribute lack of pm/mold to the environment you have created?

no , infact I grow some that many other people get mold with and I have no issue..i always put the denser flowered plants closer to wind sources,,mildew though is systemic so once you have it you have it..and will never be able to run ideal temps and rh until you cure the plant of it..i would never flower a plant that has pm living within it...I had pm once, and it was brought in on a clone not birthed due to the environment.., I got rid of it and never let it back in..its a non issue in my garden and I don't sulfer burn or spray preventatives

Big UPs to you DJM, Im trying to understand your setup...its a intake pushing fresh air in and a carbon filter thats passive for the exhaust with no fan? Let me know if this is wrong...thanks again and congrats on your record crop...

one more question are you leaving your lights as high up in the room as possible from veg thru flower, i feel like you touched on that as well just trying to confirm what I'm reading. Thanks again.

you are correct

my lights are bolted to the roof and stay there permanetely...im a firm believer in hoods hung high

I use the green broz trimming machine...smaller model...I can do 30+ by myself in a day...you need to prep it properly to get good results without a touch up...when I buck fans I pull down on it so it detatches the crows feet..those are what stick out, prevent a clean trim and get caught in the machine, leading to the flower being grinded down...you also need to destem very clean with stems as short as possible...the ratio of wet to dry is the most important part..you want it right at that point where the stem just snaps but the flowers still have some sponginess to them...I started drying with my fan leaves still on , this gives me the perfect moisture level once stems snap..before when I was plucking fans and then into machine, by the time the stem was dry the outer flower was on the verge of too dry...for me, its also a machine to watch and work on , as every strain behaves differently, some are done in 10 min, some take 30...you need to watch each one and pull it off when you see a minimal amount of trim falling...as at that point the flower is as close as it will be trimmed and running it further will only go too close and break larger colas down...colas also want to be no longer than 6 inches, I go for 4-5....I also remove the arm and brush on it for lighter sativa ish flowers as it can break them down from the pressure...its taken me a lot of dialing to figure out...if you have any more questions feel free to pm me

here is a pic of a pound that just came out of the machine...it ran for 25 minutes...this is right out of the machine with no touch up what so ever...I bagged it right out of the machine and took a picture..i wont run a machine if I have to touch it up....may be hard for some to believe but it is so...I had some videos of it on ig but got so many haters I took it down...imo the touch up can be eliminated by a more thorough preparation and removal of crows feet...the crows feet is what fucks it up imo

i now have my room completely automated with dosatrons...they are fertilizer dosers that have been used in the horticultural industry for decades

i reverse engineered my entire regimin (5 bottles) diluting them 5-600% and mixing them together...my dosatron is plumbed into my water line...as water passes through it the dosatron pulls 2% of the diluted nutrient mix and injects it into my tap water...then 3/4 inch pvc leads to my rez, hooked to a 3/4 heavy duty float valve...each morning when my rez is empty..i have a timer valve that opens long enough to fill my rez to the brim..the float valve is a fail safe to prevent flooding...i also added ph adjustors into the diluted mix, so when the water was mixed with it, it would put me at the perfect feed strength and ph

these are the readings of my water right out of the tap with no adjustments or additions...it has been testing at those exact numbers for 12 straight days

here are plants that have had no human interventioin in 13 days...i hooked them to drippers and walked away...my dosatron autofills my rez, my rez auto feeds my plants
...game changer

thanks for the kind words man..ive heard great things about trim pal...gonna give it a run soon

I do reuse my coco...but not every run..im waiting till I have 2 runs worth before breaking them apart...I put each root ball in a a garbage bag and stop on it...it with separate most of the root mass from the outside I then rake out the rest by hand...its harder to recycle coco from root bound plants..beds is where its amazing...I loose about 20-30% of medium from the reused coco..before using I flush 2x the volume of the medium with full strength nutes and plant...many years ago I ran coco for a few years...during that time I never threw out a gallon of coco...I recycled the same batch that entire time..only added small amounts of fresh coco to compensate for the loss...when flushed well pre harvest and again before planting, reused coco behaves flawlessly and infact , it becomes more stable every run and only gets better...recycling was one of the main reasons I converted my rockwool rooms into coco

:woohoo:

Your update's are gold AND SO ARE THOSE NUGS! MANY BLESSINGS!!!

Dosing Pumps! Yes! I was just thinking about that a couple days ago and remembered us using it in the greenhouse back in school, my garden is becoming more like it everyday now..

THANKYOU!!!! :tiphat:

thanks man...glad the thread has been useful...I also worked on farms where everything was ran off dosatrons...ive been wanting one for a few years and its been hands down the best investment ive ever made....because of how I use it, the entire set up only cost me 500 dollars as apposed to 4000 If I got one for each bottle and had them injecting fertilizer straight from the bottle

Inspirational posts per usual my man, straight smashing it. Do you use any enzymes before or after plugging back in or simply flush hard at the end flush hard before re plugging and measure run off till you see zero ec? We've been experimenting with reusing all our coco and so far so good. It's a bit of grunt work but beats the alternative.

I was gonna ask you about watering and ph swings in your rez but you clearly just up'd the ante! I've been reading about the dosatrons, such cool technology it just gives me a little apprehension with so many moving parts. In my experience the more moving parts the more opportunity a problem can arise. Look forward to learning more about them...and def check out the trim pal. It's a really nice machine with minimal maintenance. A can of coconut oil for lubrication and you're good.

Dosatrons rock, have one, and love it.

My problem is I'm using cns17 right now which is a suspension and it clogs the filter/weight.

I need to re-up on my jacks/calnit and hook up drippers, im so tired of crawling and watering 1-2 times per day.

Keep killing it!

DJM - I want a dosatron!! Do you water your plants every time with 750ppm? Or do you ever mix a tea or light feeding in between?

He feeds that every time. He said earlier in the thread. 6 times a day while lights on. 1/2 gal per plant per feeding. totals to 3 gal per plant/day

I believe powdery mildew is not systemic although it does seem like it sometimes lol, and i agree, better off just trashing the strains that have it seems damn near impossible to kill off.
