The sheen on those leaves is stunning indeed. I'm with you Dave, I'm a leaf man too, lol...I work as a propagater/mom grower and am overjoyed at the sight of perfect leaves....

As usual, my hat is off my good man.

I'm intrigued to hear about the smoke on the perennial Thai, lol.

The Durban x thai stick are bout a month into their young lives right now. 2 weeks veg then switched to 11/13. I can't wait to see how they express themselves in flowering. If you thought the Durbans we're beautiful, wait till you see their hybrid offspring. Just stunning.

Very healthy up this point in half gallon containers. Remember they're in the old rootballs of the male shithazes I cut down. The old stump was easily pulled up by 14 days in and the new host plant had taken root with no issues.

They're so healthy I've only lost the cotyledons so far. The first set of leaves are still a rich colorful green. Ferts by hand @ day 1 at up to 600 ppm but typically in the 400 ppm range first two weeks then up to 500-600ppm over the last two weeks. No water only feeds.

I'm loving this dyna grow 7-9-5 formula. I couldn't find the high n formula for sale easily so I chose this after reading good reviews. It also has a slightly better NN:AN ratio too if my memory serves me right. That'll help keep ph lower over the long term.

Now for just one stunning beauty for your hungry eyes.

Yes this is leaf porn at its finest. I often prefer seeing super healthy leaves rather than buds. Is that odd of me?

Yes Dave it is odd I very much prefer the sight of your buds.
But that is only eclipsed by the sight of your cobs, cant wait for the next installment. I can only get so excited over your expertly grown plants, its the buds and cobs that do it for me my friend.
I am hanging out to see your next lot.

General Update

General Update

Here is what's going on in the garden right now everyone.

GN Thai stick -E is ready to be trimmed, jarred, and cobbed after bout a week of drying. Humidity levels have dropped down to 59% speeding up the drying period. If I had another plant that was harvest ready I could hang it up in there raising r.h. to extend drying, but I don't and i'm ready to make cobs. I'll be going out first thing in the morning for corn to begin the process of cob'ing. Pics of the colas n cobs soon.

I've moved tsa and tsf into the finishing tent so seeds can further develop. I started plucking a few ready ones bout 6-8 days ago. Seeds came In quicker than expected. I can't wait to collect more and being testing them to determine the best pairing w/ my fave Durban male.

Tsg is still in the flowering room. No room to move her into the tent atm, but I need to do some rearranging between the two.

I'd like to get the shithazes into the main room. They continue to look excellent although the most dominant haze one has a N-deficiency down below yet shows signs of excess fertility in the bud structure. I had over done it early on as the haze dominant are more sensitive than the skunk dominant ones. I've cut back on ppm and now seeing N-Def but the buds are looking much better than before, so I'll err on the safer side and keep the feed a bit lean for the time being. I think harvest time could happen in bout 45 days. Wait n see, we shall.

The Durban x thai have Been in the flower tent for close to a week but no sex on any yet. Another week and I hope to see pistils but this is half Thai so it could be even longer. They're still healthy and lush as last week and due for a transplant. That's today's task. I'll get some shots of them soon but heres a quick one of my faves.

That's all for now everyone. More to come in the future.

The Durban x thai is looking sweet.
You said seeds came in quicker than expected. I have been wondering about this lately.
I always thought about 5-6 weeks for a mature seed. I am going to pollinate some outdoor plants and may not get a full 5-6 weeks before killing frost. Should I bother? Do you think a viable seed can be made in 4 weeks?

Cheers GG

They are pretty to look at. Gonna do even better once I transplant into something bigger. Got to do later today and not get behind schedule.

Only 4 weeks is cutting it too close. I think if you had another 7-10 days you could get Seeds. I was able to pull some fully formed tiger striped seeds off my Thai stick G after close to 40 days. May been a couple days shy of 40. What do you got to loose anyways?

Nice, looking forward to it. :tiphat:

Curious about the trimming strategy..
My GN TS looks to be very similar in structure to your TS-E, and trimming looks like it'll be quite the PITA. Week 20 here. :)

Well I've decided against the classic jar method. Whenever ive run out of cob I always wish I'd used more material to make more. Cobs>buds.

I'm trimming this lady right now actually. Been at it for an hour n 15 minutes n still got a ways to go. that's with me using trimming shortcuts. It isn't too bad as long as you don't waste time trimming alot of the 'sugar' leaves.

I'm using my fingers to pinch out the leaves I don't want rather than scissors. Goes much faster. I'm also stripping the foxtails off the branches and stems by wrapping my index, middle finger, and thumb around the base of my foxtaily buds and then I pull my fingers towards the apex of the bud. De-stemming you could say. I'll post a pic to show what the branch looks like after.

Got any pics to share of her?

Can't wait to see these new hybrids grow my friend!!

I promise pics of them once I transplant them. You won't be disappointed with em. They are prettier than either parent that's for sure. :tiphat:

Hehe. I'm an oddball alright. I'm still trimming up his Thai, but I got my corn cobs next to me waiting to be shucked. There will be plenty of gorgeous cobs in the near future. Stay tuned for em. :thank you:

Cannot find a pure sativa on the street and most scuttlebutt I get from those who have bought in Colorado and other so-called free states, there is no way to tell for sure what you are getting. There seems only one way and you are doing it.

So I am growing and will just have to do with the high end Indica until I get my first crop. I have never experienced the high high that pure sativa imparts and want to experiment with it as a vape or as an edible. Alcohol has not much of a place in my life anymore, no damage done, but just don't like the feeling. Will look for those seeds you are propping.

My 2 20 yr old Pure Sativas are pre-flowering now and should finish by November, hoping for a mild Autumn.

Meanwhile my Jack Herers, are at 5 inches and will be grown indoors using confining graduated pots 6" to 8" (there's a thread on here how to do it) to restrict height, until the last one which will be 10 gallons or more and the roots can finish out their life with lots of room when they won't contribute to a 10 foot plant.

Anyone up for some cobstick? I've gotten all of the Thai trimmed and now making cobs. Can't wait to give em a good sweat and seal em up.

I'm making more thinner cobs with the colas from the bud bouquet. aka Thai stick but made using tangs cobbing method. The other buds in the bag will make up fatter cobs.

Well I made 4 cobs and I still had two Mason jars full of foxtails to do something with. Maybe some dry sift or some extract. Possibilities..

Hi Dave nice touch leaving the stalks on the colas, sort of Thai stick style hey. If it was me I would cob up into big cobs all that smaller stuff, then make hash or oil from it, see if you can detect a difference in the fresh dried hash or oil to the cobbed hash or oil. Shit I just smelled my middle finger ( as you do ) and it smells of fresh harvest Thai stick, shit this cob is good he he.
This should be good he he.

Ya you definitely won't find any pure sativas on the street and I'd imagine a hard time In dispensaries. Ask for a pure Sat and most people wouldn't know what you are even asking for. Got to take it into your own hands as you said.

Plus whatever we grow is typically gonna be superior to what you get from the market.

I hope those pure sats you got deliver. I strongly recommend cobbing your harvest to get the best out of them.

I wish I had the chance to grow these Thai outdoors or let alone any one of my sweet ladies. Envious over here.

I do much the same too with small uppots to reduce stretch and produce more compact plants. Very wise to do it with these sats that can get quite leggy.

That sounds amazing. I'd take the day off for that treat. Enjoy it to the fullest. I can't wait till I've some cob to enjoy again. I smoked all of mine... :shucks:

That does seem the best thing to do with it. Its take far too long of curing to be smoke ready when compared to cobbing. I like my results fast and and oils from cob does sound amazing to me. I've yet to try that. Got to give it a go now. Ty.

I've gone 217 with Tsa once but she is done much sooner. Typically around 5 months is the norm with maybe another week thrown in. Try a pure Sat someday and then try out cobbing your buds from her. You won't be disappointed with It.

The show isn't over yet as we've 3 more Thai to come down in the near future once I'm satisfied I'll get plenty of fully developed seeds. Soon very soon. Stay tuned for those ladies. then we can concentrate on the Durban for a bit. And maybe some Durban Thai hybrid thrown in. Maybe a lil stinky shit haze too.

A lil something for my skunk/haze fans.

A lil something for my skunk/haze fans.

Remember this lady from the 16th of last month? She was 37/38 days into flower, 60 days from seed then, now she is 54/55 flowering, 77 days from seed. Needs at least another month but developing nicely and she and her siblings are terpene rich. Smells so amazing. Call me weird but I just went and rubbed a lower larfy bud along my mustache real good, and boy do I love being able to keep enjoying the ladies scent without needing to hold a bud up to my nose.

Smells so good. Blows the Thai and dp away in terpene department.

Soon I'll get pics of the other 3 ladies up.
