So we HAVE choose to either follow God - or go against him?

What if you wish to do neither? - is that a sin?

I have always been open to saving graces - and have had many close shaves - but so far as I could envisage - there was no God's involved -

Isn't it funny how Christians say exactly the same about the bible as many Muslim's say about the Qu'ran - 'It has many interpretations' - so it could mean just about anything that comes to mind - that could be interpreted as 'The Word of God'....

God gave us free will so as conscious beings being made in his image, we would have to choose to follow God or go against God. There is nothing that separates God the creator from His creation, us, we are One. Some just haven't been open to the saving grace and peace God gives through His creation.

The Bible is meant to be studied. There are many interpretations, but prayer and mediation, and a heightened awareness through the knowledge of God will help you to to gain understanding.

Thanks for stopping by!

Anyone else have satan come against them this week? Its a constant spiritual battle. Put on the armor of God.

"Why not make some big God Show to let all the disbeliever's realize that you do actually exist - some big feat like the parting of the Atlantic Ocean should get most people on earth interested and on-board with any God that can manage to pull that off."

In the book of Revelation, the 2nd coming of Jesus and reign of God's kingdom is played out in the prophesy of John's vision.

I will only address the 1000 year reign part of this since i don't have time to address both.

You have some of this right, but not the timeline. The 1,000 year reign (the millennium) is a time of peace after Armageddon/the day of the lord. This doesn't happen until AFTER Jesus touches down on the mount of olives, splitting it in two. At this point he will destroy the world armies who actually try to come and fight against him.

This is when the first resurrection occurs for those who had a chance to accept the free gift given to them through Jesus' sacrifice. These are the people who are preparing now to help teach during the 1,000 year reign.

Who will they teach? All of those who never had a chance during this life. This would include all before the time of Jesus and those who never got a chance to know his sacrifice. The only difference is that there will be no Satan to deceive them since he is locked in the abyss.

I know this goes against mainstream "christianity" who teaches the immortal soul and going to heaven or hell when you die, but it is easily proven the truth to those with eyes to see. No believer is going to heaven, but rather heaven is brought to earth after the resurrection (and 1,000 year reign). At least this is what the bible says.

Your timing is incorrect, Read the chapter. The armies gather for Armeggedon after the 1000 years. (the armies is what Armeggedon is (Gog & Magog). Been reading it since age 4.

If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

The choice and free will concept functions as an excuse for God's apparent apathy as well as a manipulative tool to implement control/power over believers/church goers.

Our God is the God of all creation, our Father. We believe we have been sent, and called for purposes in this life higher than earthly things like eating drinking and sleeping, being comfortable. Life is much more than that! God's creation has rewards in this life and the next if you follow Jesus! He is a great teacher! Our whole intention is to help others be built up and do their best in God's creation. Gypsy, to understand it, you have to have a little seed of faith. Think of the sacredness of creation! Its a special deal, and the way things manifest is interesting and points toward intelligent design. We only begin to understand whats going on in creation.

Atheists trying to pretend to know something about a topic they don’t even believe in...
/thread

Brats pretending to be someone they could never be.

For the record sad fishy I'm not homosexual and I am an agnostic that would love for you to prove yourself more than flippantly dismissive.

If you ever stood and weighed in at the topic more people would respect you.

OK - so what I make of that is that you feel that you 'have been sent' for purposes higher than just living this life and being comfortable - Maybe you feel like you have to suffer as you believe your saviour suffered - There always seems to be much suffering involved with these Abrahamic religions - When any God worth his salt could wipe all sufferance out with one just one small miracle.

So what rewards would I be up for from what you call 'Gods Creation' if I would ever become a member of your flock? - Would it be like winning the lottery and/or getting a prize such as a day-pass to some sorta heavenly resort, where your ego can be massaged to believe that you are a good person for following some magical/mysterious guy that was said to live over 2000 years ago - but is very dead today - since no-one has really seen him since - or we would have photo/video evidence (in recent years).

If you hadn't noticed science and its scientists have been gradually unravelling the secrets of creation over the past centuries - much to the chagrin of the church at times it seems, since what scientists have found as fact contradicts what the bible teaches as fact - (Thoughts of Galileo) - so many times the bible has been proved wrong as humankind discovers what is right via provable science - which is unlocking the knowledge of creation, slowly but surely.

You just have to believe to be able to witness the power of God.

I'll see what i can dig up. Its real though brother! Many people have a personal relationship with God and follow Jesus's teachings. Its good to ask questions. Hopefully you can gain some understanding about christianity. Just have to read and study the bible to understand it.

We talked about rewards today at church. The bible trys to put it into words, but from what I understand about heaven is you become part of the mind of God, being able to understand and perceive all things as an omnipresent being. You also get to share in unity with others who have followed God though Jesus. Its the ultimate satisfaction, better than anything you can experience on earth as a living human. Its your spirit and soul in unity with its Creator. You are One with God and Jesus and all other Christians. Happiness and everlasting eternal life are the rewards in heaven. On earth, you experience the joy of the Holy spirit and God gives us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness.

No, but I have heard of the dead sea scrolls. I'm fairly new to getting back into church, only 10 years, and I have been spending my time studying the regular cannon scriptures. That's what I keep going back to, although the other scrolls are interesting. The history is so far removed, its hard to add to the cannon at this point in my opinion. The bible we have is all we need.

I read and studied the bible (old and new testament) as a child - it wasn't a matter of choice - it was compulsory reading - and although I did find some worth in the bible to more primitive societies as a sort of glue that might help bind them together during hard times with its many stories of suffering - to maybe help them find relief from their own sufferings - with its offer of eternal happiness in some afterlife -

Overall I didn't find the bible particularly awe inspiring in any way other than it being a very useful tool to be able to control and engineer society into a particular ideology or 'belief system'.....

But - if you can find some joy in it all - then that must be good for you - I tend to see right thru it.

Thats cool! You grew up a christian! It has to be paired with prayer, and fellowship with other christians to help study the bible. Its a process, but it really is something that should be taken on as an adult. I studied it as a child, and it got me praying and seeking God, but it wasn't until i started going back to church and seriously studying Gods Word to find out about Jesus that I found so much I agreed with. Its a guiding light we follow. I respect you a lot. If you pray or mediate, do that. Go walking around studying nature, studying plants. It has to be something you're open to or else it seems like complete nonsense.

But to someone like me, its something very real I have been witness to, throughout my entire life, and I have an eternal mindset is how you would describe it. Its very sacred this life we have been given to live, at least understand that.

Will continue the conversation later. Enjoyed the discussion! Respect free speech! Very cool stuff! Thanks for the platform to share how we grow!

I'll share a secret grow tip with ya, I pray, and God blesses! Just have to open your eyes and believe! We will all know one day. :smoke:

Romans 14:10-13 NKJV

10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of [c]Christ. 11 For it is written:“As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”

12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Therefore let us not judge one another [d]anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

You must be new here. When good stuff happens, 'god did it, and here is the exact reason why with scripture and personal experience to back it up'.

When bad stuff happens or the whole thing starts to seem preposterous, then it's 'god works in mysteriooooouuus waaaaays....'

Faith is a win / win. You're never wrong and you never have to think, because there's a convenient 'out' for every situation.

Nehemiah 9 New King James Version (NKJV)

The People Confess Their Sins

9 Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with [a]dust on their heads. 2 Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. 3 And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.
4 Then Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani stood on the [b]stairs of the Levites and cried out with a loud voice to the Lord their God. 5 And the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said:
“Stand up and bless the Lord your God
Forever and ever!

“Blessed be Your glorious name,
Which is exalted above all blessing and praise!
6 You alone are the Lord;
You have made heaven,
The heaven of heavens, with all their host,
The earth and everything on it,
The seas and all that is in them,
And You preserve them all.
The host of heaven worships You.

7 “You are the Lord God,
Who chose Abram,
And brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans,
And gave him the name Abraham;
8 You found his heart faithful before You,
And made a covenant with him
To give the land of the Canaanites,
The Hittites, the Amorites,
The Perizzites, the Jebusites,
And the Girgashites—
To give it to his descendants.
You have performed Your words,
For You are righteous.

9 “You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt,
And heard their cry by the Red Sea.
10 You showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh,
Against all his servants,
And against all the people of his land.
For You knew that they acted [c]proudly against them.
So You made a name for Yourself, as it is this day.
11 And You divided the sea before them,
So that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land;
And their persecutors You threw into the deep,
As a stone into the mighty waters.
12 Moreover You led them by day with a cloudy pillar,
And by night with a pillar of fire,
To give them light on the road
Which they should travel.

13 “You came down also on Mount Sinai,
And spoke with them from heaven,
And gave them just ordinances and true laws,
Good statutes and commandments.
14 You made known to them Your holy Sabbath,
And commanded them precepts, statutes and laws,
By the hand of Moses Your servant.
15 You gave them bread from heaven for their hunger,
And brought them water out of the rock for their thirst,
And told them to go in to possess the land
Which You had [d]sworn to give them.

16 “But they and our fathers acted [e]proudly,
Hardened[f] their necks,
And did not heed Your commandments.
17 They refused to obey,
And they were not mindful of Your wonders
That You did among them.
But they hardened their necks,
And [g]in their rebellion
They appointed a leader
To return to their bondage.
But You are God,
Ready to pardon,
Gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger,
Abundant in kindness,
And did not forsake them.

18 “Even when they made a molded calf for themselves,
And said, ‘This is your god
That brought you up out of Egypt,’
And worked great provocations,
19 Yet in Your manifold mercies
You did not forsake them in the wilderness.
The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day,
To lead them on the road;
Nor the pillar of fire by night,
To show them light,
And the way they should go.
20 You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them,
And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth,
And gave them water for their thirst.
21 Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness;
They lacked nothing;
Their clothes did not wear out
And their feet did not swell.

22 “Moreover You gave them kingdoms and nations,
And divided them into [h]districts.
So they took possession of the land of Sihon,
[i]The land of the king of Heshbon,
And the land of Og king of Bashan.
23 You also multiplied their children as the stars of heaven,
And brought them into the land
Which You had told their fathers
To go in and possess.
24 So the [j]people went in
And possessed the land;
You subdued before them the inhabitants of the land,
The Canaanites,
And gave them into their hands,
With their kings
And the people of the land,
That they might do with them as they wished.
25 And they took strong cities and a rich land,
And possessed houses full of all goods,
Cisterns already dug, vineyards, olive groves,
And [k]fruit trees in abundance.
So they ate and were filled and grew fat,
And delighted themselves in Your great goodness.

26 “Nevertheless they were disobedient
And rebelled against You,
Cast Your law behind their backs
And killed Your prophets, who [l]testified against them
To turn them to Yourself;
And they worked great provocations.
27 Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their enemies,
Who oppressed them;
And in the time of their trouble,
When they cried to You,
You heard from heaven;
And according to Your abundant mercies
You gave them deliverers who saved them
From the hand of their enemies.

28 “But after they had rest,
They again did evil before You.
Therefore You left them in the hand of their enemies,
So that they had dominion over them;
Yet when they returned and cried out to You,
You heard from heaven;
And many times You delivered them according to Your mercies,
29 And [m]testified against them,
That You might bring them back to Your law.
Yet they acted [n]proudly,
And did not heed Your commandments,
But sinned against Your judgments,
‘Which if a man does, he shall live by them.’
And they shrugged their shoulders,
[o]Stiffened their necks,
And would not hear.
30 Yet for many years You had patience with them,
And [p]testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets.
Yet they would not listen;
Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
31 Nevertheless in Your great mercy
You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;
For You are God, gracious and merciful.

32 “Now therefore, our God,
The great, the mighty, and awesome God,
Who keeps covenant and mercy:
Do not let all the [q]trouble seem small before You
That has come upon us,
Our kings and our princes,
Our priests and our prophets,
Our fathers and on all Your people,
From the days of the kings of Assyria until this day.
33 However You are just in all that has befallen us;
For You have dealt faithfully,
But we have done wickedly.
34 Neither our kings nor our princes,
Our priests nor our fathers,
Have kept Your law,
Nor heeded Your commandments and Your testimonies,
With which You testified against them.
35 For they have not served You in their kingdom,
Or in the many good things that You gave them,
Or in the large and rich land which You set before them;
Nor did they turn from their wicked works.

36 “Here we are, servants today!
And the land that You gave to our fathers,
To eat its fruit and its bounty,
Here we are, servants in it!
37 And it yields much increase to the kings
You have set over us,
Because of our sins;
Also they have dominion over our bodies and our cattle
At their pleasure;
And we are in great distress.

38 “And because of all this,
We make a sure covenant and write it;
Our leaders, our Levites, and our priests seal it.
