You aren't worried about the defoliation this far into flower affecting bud size/yield?

Hey blynx,
Naw not really, it was just to keep them in check during veg and stretch due to my limited headroom. From my experience the removal of fans will only do one thing: stall growth, and for me, that's a good thing in my case.
There is enough foliage remaining for everything the buds need to blow up, even if only the sugars remain on the plant.
They're getting nice and big buds, the second half of flowering just started
smile.gif

I have to say though that I do hear that a lot.
But I'm really only doing it for height control. I'm not sure if the defo helps with anything else.
If I had more room I would probably not defo...

thanks for checking in buddy!

update day 82/ 42nd day of flower

update day 82/ 42nd day of flower

Good day everybody,
Here's another update!
We're at day 82 from seed, 38th day of flower.
I consolidated the vent ducts of the cab and my tent into one exhaust duct.
I installed a Y piece right to the exhaust of the cab.

picture.php

The loudest parts of a setup are usually not the fan or the ducts, but the connections or endings, therefore I wrapped the metal Y piece with 1" PU foam. Sounds good.

Here's a shot of the cab under lights:

picture.php

And here's one with lights off:

picture.php

The ladies are doing good, even though rh has gone up to 65% at times, way too much for this phase of the grow. I switched the fan form 2 to 3 (of 5), hope this will solve the problem. temps are at 25°C (66f) day and 19°C (77f) night.
buds are swelling and it looks as if the girls are well on route.
from a little closer:

picture.php

things are slowly getting frosty in there

and I also have some news from the bonsai moms in the little clone compartment.

The blumatized cannabis bonsai moms of beverly hills (well not exactly geographically):
here the are before the blumatizing:

picture.php

and here after installing the blumats:

picture.php

It felt a little brutal to push the fat blumats into the tiny cups and through the young root mass, but it had to be done.
I have to say I always thought that this size would not have enough room/ soil& roots for the blumats to work, but the guys around avinash miles with their yoghurt cup challenge here on ICmag, namely garuda, showed me it absolutely works.

There's still a bit of spillage from dialing in the blumats, but now I can go away for more than 10 days without any problems.

take care and stay safe

looking good Chevy...and I like the idea of using blumats for more freedom.

Interesting that your temperature's are so high, to me it looks like it's below zero in the cab, at least based on the frostie buds and leaves :)

p.s. btw...did you mix up the day and night temps in f?

day 84/ 40th of flower

day 84/ 40th of flower

Gruezi party people,
Nothin really big happened, but I had the camera with me, so here are a few shots just 2 days after the last update.
btw, I had a mistake in my last update: the headline sayd day 42 of flower whereas in the text it said day 38. 38 was correct.
Here we are now at day 84/ 40th of flower!

Lights on:

picture.php

lights off:

picture.php

and the little bonsai moms seem not to be taking the blumats bad in any way:

picture.php

Rh has gone down a bit to app 40%-45% after giving the fan more juice, but I highly depend on the outside rh to drop as it gets colder.
buds are so likely to catch mold in such a small space if parameters slip.
The spores are always in the air... if you don't want to spray, like me, you can only try and keep rh in check 24/7.
high temps and high rh and you're inviting mr mold for a party. needless to say you're paying the tab hahaha.
I've got good exhaust plus two fans to move the air around and together with temperatures not rising too much, this should work.

Some of the hairs are already turning orange/ brown, but after checkin with the loupe trichomes are still clear.
I guess they have another 2-3 weeks to go. most of them jackflashes finish around day 60-ish. they're swelling up from day to day now.

so far, so good so what

stay safe you all and til the next update!

update day89/ 45th of flower

update day89/ 45th of flower

Good day everyone/ BongJour !
Update day89 from seed/ 45th day of flower.

All is good so far, rh is in check again and now around 40%.
temps have gone down a bit despite heating being turned up.
I'm at 20°C (68f) day/ 15°C( 59f) night.
Here's lights on:

picture.php

and here's lights of, this time with sufficient lighting!

picture.php

you can now see the plants were from three different seeds. they look and smell slighty different.

Here's JF#1

picture.php

and here's JF#2, she's pretty much like #3 in terms of look and smell:

picture.php

and here are the bonsai moms:

I stopped the nutes after the last update, from now on only water ph'd to 7 for the girls to sober up a bit before harvest.
My guess is app. 3 weeks to go ...checking trichomes every couple days, but so far all still 100% clear.
This time I want the plants to really use up all remaining nutes before harvest, therefore this kind of extended 2-3 week "flush". Better a bit too much than not enough, the soil should still hold a good amount of nutes anyways ( after all the alga bloom I poured in there ;-)

that's it for today, stay safe everyone !

What are the differences between HID and LED with stretch and node sites/node size.... just wondering what your input is atm. I have a white closet im planning on putting in a led setup (high power costs had me sell my HID)

How do you like it?

The hans panel has blues, reds and far reds ( sorry don't have all the specs and wavelengths of the LEDs in my head). how much to you expect to harvest from this 65w? i really want to get this hans panel if it is worth it!!! I like the fact you can custom build it to your specs...

What are the ratios you use for the LEDS?

My goal would be 1gram per watt in this run. So 65grams of dried bud.

I didn't do any modifications to my panel, it has the regular set of LEDs that Hans offers... You could look up the numbers and specs of the different LEDs, but they modified the panel with added whites last august ( my panel was built before that date so it's the old one) and now the website only has the sepcifications of the new version... sorry buddy.
I can recommend this setting, works good for me!

update day104/60th of flower

update day104/60th of flower

Hi cannabis friendly people,
Next update, day 104 from seed& day 60 of flower.
We're in the official harvest window given by sensi for this strain.
all trichs cloudy, but absolutely none amber yet. maybe a few clear ones here and there, but not enough to really mention.
Voila, ze ladies:

picture.php

they're getting plain water for over 2 weeks now, still no major signs of yellowing leaves, there's still nutes in that soil. good they still have to go a couple days so they can use up the rest.

here's a closeup of a group of buds:

picture.php

they are allright, although I have had this strain's buds much denser at this time. Well this round was no boosters and shit, maybe that can explain this partly?

rh and temps remain unchanged, same as last update.

the bonsai moms downstairs are ok, although some of them seem to have some problems

picture.php

I fed them for the first time a couple days ago and they seem to get better now. I think for a while the coco was too wet and no nutes let them turn pale green. Maybe they had already used up the little nutes in the worm castings I mixed into the coco?

here's acloseup of the one that's got it worst:

picture.php

I have to admit I watered them with unPHd water a couple of times ( app.8,5), before the got the adjusted H2O at 6,5. That might have thrown them off too.

looks like a mix of nitrogen& potassium def to me, or what do you guys think ?
They seem to be getting better after the feeding, new growth looks mostly allright.

I give them another week or so until chop, I'm keeping my eyes on the trichs.

more soon, take care & stay safe!
