What's new

checking out new strains~

i,d like to make a reference also to the ojsdkb , as i,m tearing these buds apart for the seed . theres a few strains that stand out . its bud sites are a lot smaller than most buds on plants . but i do think theres something to this girl .

theres a few others . so it all comes into play when i,m working out whats going to get a shot in the future also . its not for me as i like a bit of weight to my buds . but i think it could be a very nice strain . i,ll defiantly be growing some f2 at some stage maybe even a cross . something to put some mass in her . cause i do have to see it in its prime . seeding some of these plants holds back a lot of the females bud production as she,s concentrating on her purpose in life which is actually to make seed .

theres lots of other things . you never know where the gold is . thats half the fun . :)

i,ve learnt a lot about some of these strains , growing them . seeding them and pulling them apart . so if anyone wants to really know about any of the strains . hit me up . never know , i may just be able to answer the question about it .

theres so much i like about some of these strains . i find it hard not to like each strain , for something it does or has to offer . :) i,ve also decided its time to take my passion of making seeds to the next level . actually working some large numbers finding those very few special girls and using them . and researching a male to use in these f1 . i,ll pm bodhi at some stage . pic his brain on the matter. i know i have some temple x temple coming . he has used a temple male in crosses before . this is fresh thought . so i,m still growing the idea . finding that male to let the females shine through is the ticket . :) f2 are fun though . but f1 are more predictable . i,m also going to make a s1 line in the off season . busy busy busy .

Beans beans,
They're good for the heart...

And I thought I was making beans... lol

If you ryun out now you gave away way to many now.

The seeds ya decide not to use for bud can be used for decoy plots... if needed.

Bring on some macros too. I love that spider shot.

ROUND 4 is drying atm, and i also realised theres a lot more i still have all the malawi , dragons blood , lemon zinger ,more ojsdkb and big e , seeds to harvest yet .

yeah i won't be running out of beans any time in the near future mj . i,m actually about to set my tent up . and doing some more franchise f2 (no crosses this run ) and few other bits and pieces . nothing massive though . probably 10 strains . then i need to start working on some black lime s1 , or atleast fems . i have the sts , but will be a first for me .

i,m onto some macro shots , i need to harvest some more plants today . then maybe e will find the time . i wanted to take some pics of the plants before they came down . but there,s no messing around when your trying to get all this stuff processed and into racks . the gh is looking empty atm , well too me . theres still heaps to go . i,ll get some pics though soon ,

I had to come by and see the tupperware pic..A classic finish to an epic season..
I think you were very smart to do a selection year first. Thats keeping your eye on the final prize. I respect your discipline.

You've done a lot of hard work..I'm all ears bro @ the good strains for me..Humidity is my biggest enemy..I grow a lot of sativa hybrids for that reason.

ok i,m still learning big time . i think the trick is to find something unique in the bud and go for that . i didn't do that here . i,m still sussing this out .

so i thought i better do a bit of a write up on what i think of locktite or as my mate likes to call it lactate .
ok its coming out tom . its only got small amounts of mold . but its chunked up to quiet a solid bud . it may not look it . looks bit fluffy . but make no mistake its all bud under there . its prob the frostiest thing in the gh . its going to be one of those strains that stick to the bag for sure :) made lots of f2 and few crosses .( yeah i no your all surprised i made seeds lol )
i,m guessing its going to be rather potent i,d prob even consider growing it again once th ventilation is upgraded .
here,s the better one of the 2 .

yeah more fans , lots of fans . wondering best fans for the job .

i need to fix a leaking gutter at the end of the gh also . a river runs through there on a massive down poor . its not helping with the mold either i,m sure . its not a quick fix though . but it will all be over in here soon . and i can start prepping the gh . for its re launch the way i should have done from the start .

alrighty, good people , i pm,d bodhi . with all my questions of selecting males for a f1 process . so now we wait .lol he,s already gone into great detail with me what he likes to see in males he selects . i really just wanted to unlock a bit more of his knowledge , on how to find the male that doesn't dominate too much and lets the girls show there full glory .

i was of the opinion at the start of this thread a lot of the males i used have never dominated very much . sept the yeti . but i now found the rem male i used seemed to dominate the cross i used him for . hmmmm .

i need to explore this more . i may need to read a book , i hope not !!
@ mj passion , whats your thoughts man . how do i keep the male from taking over the show . or is it just trial and error . maybe certain strains are better to use than others perhaps .

i,m thinking about installing these , for my air movement issue . anyone got any idea what sort of draft/breeze they create ??

or are they just good for air exchange and help with temps ? anyone ever seen one working

as twisted , has pointed out , i think soil and brix levels is playing a big role here in plant health and being susceptible to bud rott , but beefing up certainly is only going to help . i,m keen to have a nice win next run.

hell i,m keen to run out buy few of these just cause they look cool . lol

my mom had a mid sized greenhouse, about1200-1400sqft and had a fan like that,
it created a lot of suction/air movement at the other end where there was a door.
and a few windows.
you couldn't feel a lot of movement inside unless you were near an opening but inside the fan was replacing the air in a big way, if you were shirtless and sweating you can definitely feel it.
if your GH is long and narrow you'll get a big benefit from one of these imo

cheap fans that size are noisy. buy quality and get shutters on it.

yeah they are made in Europe, these fans they are like 2 k a pop , he still said there noisy and he sells the shit . put me right off . yet on his web page said made to run silent wtf . but he,s the boss . so buggers me .

also said wouldn't bring the temp in there down . i said how so , if its 34 outside and 38 inside , how does it not . he said guess your right . then he went on to say we are nearly through all the bad humidity , don't worry about it too much ....... its not his veggies on the line here i guess .lol

i,m not sure with these monkeys . you think he,d be flogging me a dozen of them if he could . not talking me out of it .

i,m going to ask for a video of them . i want to make a wind tunnel , hahaha how could nice good airflow not make a huge difference not only in plant stem strength , also in air exchange . but i can't have a b10 bomber plane humming all day and night either
