I am very happy with the initial cross of Cascadia. A large easy producer with a great fun buzz.

I also have 100+ seeds left...wink wink....

And whenever Bone or Raco post you know you will be seeing some beautifull eye candy. It gives me something to strive for, BIG healty plants all the way through flower.

hey everyone!!!! i hope you are all doing well!!!
i thought i should show something that i got going...since i havent been able to post any flower shots or anything
heres a look at a clone from a super-g.





its only been in soil for about 9 days and it is exploding. i have it under a 26watt cfl. it had 3 solid nodes when it went into soil and now its got 5 going on 6.
i am going to make it a bonsai mum...so i will be topping her very shorty. then clone the top...heheh

this is one of the most vigorious clones i have ever seen.

Hi Raco,

Glad you enjoy it! If you feel the terpenoids from the oil as a joint, you definitely have to check the TiVap. That way you feel much much more. You smoke just a drop and you can feel the taste of the smoke so intensive in your mouth. And the smoke is so dense that you feel that you can chew it.
What is really amazing is the high. Even if the oil is maded from an indica plant, the high is very cerebral without any body effect.

The Red Kyber x C99 comes from la mano negra. He lost it because the police came to his house. I didn’t made any clone from and I just have a couple of seeds more. Let see if I get some nice plant from them and I’ll keep it.

it is interesting the point about BHO getting head only. i find it depends a lot on the state of maturity of the material used

also i would think its interesting to know what way u process ur bho

we have a setup that fits about 60 grams of bud (its 3 tubes on a tripod) - and on our last run we had it filled with 50 grams and got 10 grams of thick oil. this oil gets rock hard. to even call it oil is missleading. its so hard its possible to break of pieces when in room temp.

we allways do a very long evap submerged in boiling water (baño maria) about 20-30min - untill there is no bubbling left. this might for some strains loose flavour - since the evaporation of different terpenes are at different temperatures. but this far i have not found any loss in flavour - rather an increase since all the rests of the solvent gets evaporated.

this way we get a "oil" thats hard enough to roll into balls with out it getting stuck to the fingers. it also creates a snow/ice like crystal when scraped with a razor.

i like my bho amber coloured, from well mature buds and then mixed into some kif of same strain it gets the best it can jelly hash yum yum

in the pic is the 2,5 liter pyrex container - fotos were taken while the hot bath evaporation was going on

bud used was SSH x PTK - of our pheno

the bud used was insanelly hard and resinous im not really sure but, this does mean we had a 20% + resin amount on the buds?

the greenhouse will be taken apart ASAP because the house we rented last summer is not really in the picture anymore. we will have only acces one more month to that greenhouse

and no its not really 100% safe to have plants there since the house is not lived in at the moment.

I don’t think that the high depends on the maturiry. What I think related to the maturity is the oil color. Here I explain my theory.

I start to make oil on 92-93. During many years I made it with solvents (ethanol and pet ether) with a basic lab equipment (I have access to a nice lab but not mine) until I discover the BHO. Since then, I just make BHO.
It’s easier, faster and with better results. What I found was that making it with ethanol I didn’t get the same grass flavor.

My setup is similar to yours. I just use one tube that I build with copper. I have different sizes of tubes to maximize the gas. Here, in Spain is really difficult to get nice gas and just left me around 20 good gas cans. My biggest tube holds around 80g of grass and I got around 9g of oil using one can. The oil wich is in the picture was maded with a tube that holds 40-50g and always using one gas can.
I’m also using paper lab filters that reduce the final weight getting better quality.
And at last, I don’t like to be near the process during (not safety) so I’m using a lab “holder” in which I hold a silicon gun that I adapt to hold the gas can and the cylinder. That way, “I turn it on” and I take distance. You can see in the picture ( It is an old picture. Not using anymore this tube and not this gas brand).

Talking about purging, I make double purging. The first one, as you make but probably less time (around 10 min) and then I leave it until it’s cold (20-30 min), I scrape it and I put it into the vial. Then I put the vial “al baño maria” until I see that all the gas bubles comes up and go (be careful because the oil also boil if it is to much al año maria and then you start to lose dramatically the terpenoids). The time of purging will also depend on the surface in which is the oil. As bigger it is, faster it will be.

HMK said that the hardeness of the oil is related to the non grindered buds. He said that grindered buds makes liquid oil but I’m not shure about it. I think that it also depends on the diameter of paper filter ( he make it with coffe filter which has bigger diameter hole than mine).

But I think that if you got 20% and hard oil is really nice result.
