Hi Leeroy , thanks sweetie. Hope yours are doing well and have survived yourself and your kitty cat :bashhead:

Hey Bonzo...you must have missed my smell description:
They're sticky as all get ut and smell skunky-citrusy, very strong and pungent odor
I have a 10X - 40X microscope (actually a toy for kids to see insects through, but damned if it don't do its job!). I usually harvest when all the trichs are cloudy, but as these mangos are unexpectedly extremely sativa dominant, I'm going to wait unti I see a few amber trichs to harvest....I use marijuana mostly to help me sleep. Sativas are not very indicated  Glad you like my Cup thread...and a fine day to you too!

Big Toke...I could use some of your muscle with these mommas, they're over 6 ft tall and its going to be a bitch getting them out of the grow and chopping them when they're done. I think I might have to harvest by cutting the branches, as soon as I untie the plants they're going to fall over for sure

Growdoc....I know....I must've pruned off a condo-size trash bag full of leaves from veg until now....and god only knows how many hours it'll take me to trim them up anyway. These are some extremely leafy plants!

Dr. D, thanks for dropping by  You know what? It still seems like an eternity! Mostly because they're taking so damn long to finish. They had a last dose of pure nitrogen a bit too late in veg and took forever to start flowering...that and the sativa heavy genetics don't help my patience much  Even the LUI is taking longer than expected....

Next grow will be in September...summer months force me to close the grow. And I don't have separate veg and flowe cabs by the way. Next up will probably be:

- Mountain Jam - DJ Short
- Sour Cali - Swan Song Seeds (zeppelindood)
- Pink Kush x Blackseed or Kodiak Gold - Reeferman
- Pine Tar Kush - Tom Hill

Hey Dr. D... what kind of temps do you get running the lights at night in say August? Can you give me a brief description of your setup? Dimensions, light and exhaust? Do you vent directly outside, or into the room where the grow is?

I guess I could swing indoors at night in the summer myself....but it does get a bit hotter here in southern Europe than in the UK. Even at night

Hey blue my grow cab is very small and i run a 400hps in there with a small desktop fan and a small extractor that removes up to 160m3/hr of air.
this shud give u an idea of the size of my cab, its a bout 5 ft tall...temps are relatively high in the main hot months like July and August on good nights it was mainly around 28 degrees celcius but some nights wen i was hot it wud hit 30-31 degrees, on really hot nights it wud hit 35 degrees and i didnt really run into any probs

ah heres a better pic of the cab

these were grown in height of summer with no probs tho our summer was that good last year it still was warm alot at night and it gets hot in our house due to the cavity wall insulation

This is HOG grown early summer with no probs....i extract out of an open window which also supplies fresh air to the room...hope this will entice u to do a summer grow...peace

Thanks for the info Dr. D...my cab is slightly larger than yours, I have a 400W in a cool tube with a 360cfm exhaust...I'll probably be running temps much cooler than you...definitely give some thought to it!

You should think about investing in a cool tube yourself, or building one. I used to run temps which would freak me out before I bought it (from 30 - 36°), with the tube and larger exhaust I've dropped temps in there a good 10°, running anywhere from 21° - 26° and in the daytime

Harry that's it sweetie! And yes, my Mango monsters look like BIG producers so I'm not worried

Thanks for the encouragement Growdoc, but I close up every year from the beginning of may to the beginning of September  Been doing it ever since I started growing....I'm not a heavy smoker so I can do so and still have more than enough to keep my friends happy when they come over and have a constant supply for myself. I still have 2 large jars of G13, 2 jars of VeryBerry and one large jar of Maple Leaf Indica buds left over from my last grow . They've been curing almost 5 months now and let me tell you, all of it is right on time . Add to that in a couple of months this harvest and as you can see, I can afford to close my grow three months. Kinda like the break from the paranoia too.

 Have a nice evening!

well with a supply like that blue im thinkin ur gonna be ok  ...i did hav a large stash but daily im smokin more and more especially since last week..im in desparate need of another garden...by the sounds of ur set-up u shud be ok in the summer months..i find the advantage of runnin the lights at night even in winter is that they are getting a warmer nightime temp(wen it is really daytime) that way u dont get a big drop in temp wen lights go off and nightime falls, as u wud if the lights were runnin in the day...peace

That's right Harry, and he's happy for it :D.
I believe I put the fear of God into the poor guy, he was right there when I got home and opened the grow for inspection , staring at me with an ohmygodmynuts look on his face...but the plants were in perfect shape and his 'nads are gonna make it to next year intact :biglaugh:

Dr. D, your solution of nighttime lighting in summer is excellent, and if ever I have the need I've filed it away for future reference

More LUI...the pics on the previous post were taken in a particular lighting situation, part daylight, part normal light bulb and part HPS...not the best for bringing out the beauty of this plant, but I guess the pics were OK.

All of 69 days of flower here:

Hi guys, thanks for stopping by, i was beginning to think I was talking to myself :biglaugh:

The first Mango came down this morning, at 70 days, and the LUI is now in the dark until Monday, chop-time for her.

I'm very pleased with the yeilds of the Mango, this one was the smallest of the three, but nonetheless she was a good 5ft, and though she had a poor leaf to bud ratio she still did well, I've never grown such leafy damn plants, and had to do some trimming before putting her to dry (I usually leave the leaves on to slow dry, but there were just too many).

Very nice trich coverage, on a very sativa plant...threw me for a loop, Mangos are more frequently indica dom

Last pics of Mango number 1, enjoy, and expect a smoke report in about 45 days or so  Its time for me to start planning a harvest party :D

The vase shot shows all of the larger colas I removed individually to hang for drying, there's quite a number of smaller branches with secondary buds which have been laid to dry, not included in the pics

Stay tuned for LUI shots on Monday :D
