I tried cannabis in 1998 because my friends wouldn't stop talking about it. First attempt was a little metal bowl between 7 of us, mexican flat commercial brick weed. I didn't get any feeling from it, but a week later I smoked a joint that looked like a tooth pick with 3 friends and got rocked. He said it was some pretty good weed, I removed some seeds from his bag. It wasn't as brick like and was lighter lime green with red hairs.

My interest was sparked immediately upon finding out it had seeds in it and could be cultivated. That year I started popping seeds and trying to figure it out.

What got you to try cannabis for the first time?

Peer pressure. Definitely peer pressure.

It was 1968 and I had recently converted from a super cool greaser with a comb in my pocket to a laid back hippie with a nickel bag in my pocket. Trends were changing and I wasn't going to be left behind. LOL

Has cannabis changed your life? How?

I was a severe alcoholic trying to drink away PTSD in addition to chronic depression. I realized that when I used cannabis I drank less. I was taking 8 psych meds and I was barely functioning through the fog. I soon realized that when I used cannabis I didn't blackout. It also helped me with my daily struggles.
Fast forward to today I use cannabis daily. I don't drink alcohol and I'm on 2 psych meds. I don't miss alcohol nor all the psych meds. I live life now how it should have been. Life saver for me.

My pops used to give me a hit off his j when i was a lil kid to calm down lol . im not a heavy smoker. But he used to have clarks book on marijuana botany laying around by 13 i read it like 3 times and started growing in the back yard.. As you can tell gen x boomers left us to run wild it ,was great.

How do you choose the right cannabis products for your needs?

The right product for my needs... it's gotta be my own organic flower.

Since I became aware of the value in the energy exchange transaction between man and nature, I tend to put a lot of my energy into the medicine I grow. I know it will come back to me in abundance at harvest and even a more wholesome result once I start smoking the flower tailor made for my physical and spiritual needs.

the first time i smokes was on the beach before surfing with some older guys
i was lucky to be able to catch a ride to the beach and felt lucky they invited me to paddle out with them
it wasnt until i was in the water that the feeling really hit me but i kept my cool and had a great surf
the next day i asked if could i buy a nickel bag

How do you choose the right cannabis products for your needs?

It begins with trust. Trust in the breeder. Trust that you are getting the medicine you need. Trust that he hand picked each breeding project from hundreds to thousands of phenotypes. Trust that these seeds are exactly what you requested. Trust that it is the highest quality regular seeds, just as mother nature intended. Trust. That's why I trust horticulturalists and breeders I know, that I talk to personally.

I'll try the Landrace Warden seeds if I'm chosen. I wouldn't want anything from the other Phoenix thing. They only have the feminized seeds, and hemp hybrids. Somebody else can have them.

Q: What got you to try cannabis for the first time?

A: A friend of mine had scored some top quality hashish imported into our part of Arabia from Pakistan. Once he told me he had secured some top quality hash and that it was extremely uplifting and induced a hilarious mood, I knew I had to try it. That first pipeful was all it took and I instantly became a cannabis devotee. I am extremely grateful that my first experience was with landrace hashish

About 6th or 7th grade, like another poster, sat through a drug education class for health class. The presenter (LEO) brought processed marijuana incense to burn so we'd know what it smelled like.

The hippies seemed to have some good things going on, and I was curious about the fabled weed for several reasons.

I was in Lower Michigan at the time, and a friend told me his older sister in New York state smoked pot, so I phoned her and inquired about getting some. Never heard back from her. Probably freaked her out.

Beginning of 8th grade outside Edinboro, Pennsylvania, a new-to-the-area classmate had very long hair, and the staff incorrectly IDed him as 'the new girl' in our classroom. Somehow or another, I ended up invited to meet him after school, out behind the school, where he produced what was likely about a 1/4-oz. of Mexican. I got zero perceivable effect.

I was then just past my 13th birthday by a couple months or so, and determined to give this new 'vehicle' a test drive, I went into Edinboro, to the combination head shop and record store (music shop) and purchased an early-70's style hash pipe (brass, of course), and through an older acquaintance of my classmate, a nickel bag of Mexican.

I went home, laid on my bed, and filled up and smoked 2 or 3 pipe loads in a row. Then when I tried to it up, I couldn't.

The rest was history...
