Congradulation on the female puna Blue, Im very happy for you after all the hard work you went through with her. I now have a much renewed faith in your grow, I cant wait to see how she looks.
immortal thanks, but why is your faith in my grow "renewed"? Did you lose it for some reason? I never did
Well I'm sorry to hear that Mo...hopefully you can make it in '06...we could do a fundraising thread
Got a couple of pics, both at lights on inside the grow so they're less than perfect, but they're good enough!
Below is a pic of the canopy of two Mangos, one behind the other...and just two of the 5 females in my grow...we're talking BIG jungle!
The Mangos are to date the tallest plants I've grown, aside from the landrace Sativa two grows back. The difference is that the killer Sativa spent alot of time flowering by herself in the grow, so I was easily able to bend and widen branches to keep her tame, with the Manogs I can't because of shade issues, and though they have been trained repeatedly I hope they have stopped stretching 'cause my horizontal space is now nonexistent and my vertical space is not as abundant as it used to be If I didn't have that massive soundproof tubing in the grow I'd have less worries...but I need it (or I think I do)
And here's the Puna Moose, we're at 18 days flower today and as you can see she is working hard on flowering...gotta love the Moose! She has what seem to be two main colas plus at least 5 or 6 secondary colas and lots of side branching, hopefully she'll reward me for the meticulous TLC she recieved up until now
Why thank you sweetie  Its always nice to have you stop in...is shmoo doing well? I saw your camera broke, hope they'll fix it for you for free.
The Moose is doing great! She was trained yesterday, had become quite tall. Very healthy and she looks almost normal from above, its when you get down underneath the canopy that you see how "original" she really is . Maybe when she's done and cured we can think about some way to get a care package to you
Good news my friend, it was still in warranty so they refunded it in full which is great, but now there is no camera at that price so we have to sit on it and save more money... I guess its a good excuse to upgrade to something better than 2megapixels?
The shmoo is smelling beautiful and the trichomes are like diamonds under light, i looked through the close up jewelers loups and they are 50% cloudy approx.
Harvest time is not far, then the curing process begins and i have to try to keep my hand out of the cookie jar!
Good morning Blue, your garden looks great. You say you did massive pruning, do you prune large fan leaves? how close to the top do you prune? My plants could sure use a trim but there seems to be alot of different opinions as to prune or not to prune. I removed a half a grocery bag of trim and hardly notice a difference. Have a great day ,Bonzo
To answer your question, I prune the essentials. I hate like hell to cut a leaf off of a cannabis plant that has to grow indoors, we've all seen how these plants draw everything they can from the leaves in mid to late flower. I prune leaves which shade budsites (of the same plant or any plants surrounding it) and avoid absolutely pruning fan leaves and any leaves receiving light. Leaves in shade are pruned, but I keep it to a minimum there too, I tend to prune the smaller ones and leave the large leaves when I can. In my current grow (as you can see from my pic above) I have three Mangos which have a huge abundance of leaves all the way down the stem, and as the plants are trained and the side branches are now main bud sites, I had to do much strategic pruning, but the plants are extremely leafy anyway. I'll probably have some more pruning to do sooner or later
Wow blue, that puna no longer looks like a moose. LOL She looks almost as nice as you. Did you take any clones from her, I missed it if you said you did or didn't. I was talking to my boss about going to the cup too, contemplating it...
..and I just realize that Moose is a girl after all, that's GREAT!! congrats Blue!! ....i'm waiting next update already....keep up your excellent work!!
Hi rule, no clones because it gets too hot in this part of the world in the summer months to do any growing indoors, and I can't do it out. After these plants are done I'm closing the grow until September  Budgrinder welcome back, been a while since I've seen you here . The Moose is the shiznit ...she's outperforming all the other girls with her bud development and I'm expecting great things from her!
that's where you can shove your entire colony of spidermites fili....probably the best thing you'll ever do for them , not to mention for yourself and the rest of humanity
Good morning Blue, i know i could find this info myself if i searched your thread, but im a bit lazy, what was the finishing time on your Maple Leaf indica? Thanks, have a great day, Bonzo
Hi Bonzo, the Maple Leaf went 53-54 days, IMO she'll take anywhere from 54-60 days depending on how much couchlock you like. I must say my own at 53-54 is perfect for my taste, and I consider it the connoisseur bud among those in my stash at the moment
Hi bluevelvet,
Don't know how I missed this thread. I love your garden and and the selection of genetics. Looking forward to your next update. Zep, that cross sounds tops! I think MLI is so underrated.
NoS
Zep that G13 x Maple Leaf sounds wonderful! If the Maple Leaf carries over her taste and smell and smoothes out the G13 kick in the teeth stone some, that could be one primo hybrid for the more refined palates.
NoS welcome, its nice to have you here! you arrived in time for the flower show so don't fret
Zep, here's a Puna update at day 23 of flower. Got a full plant shot for ya, and believe me, it wasn't easy...this momma's BIG to say the least. Got her up against a door to give you an idea of size, notice the door handle :
But if we really want to talk BIG...how about the Mango?
She has what appears to be the beginning of an iron deficiency, and will be receiving some much needed iron supplements today. She is also at 23 days bloom, and you can see she's just barely getting started on the flowertops, while the Puna is quite a bit ahead.
Last up, the LUI...this one's so small in comparison to the other monsters in my grow that I have her sitting on top of two 500 page books to get her closer to the light  She'll be getting a mild iron supplement too, along with some epsom salts, starting to look kinda pale on top. She's also way behind the Puna as far as flowering goes.
