Question for @Sam_Skunkman - Have you (or anyone you know) ever bioassayed cannabisativine and/or the other lactam based alkaloids in Cannabis?

I was browsing through ElSohly's works, and it happened to me that cannabisativine's molecular structure could have some affinity to other receptors than the CB1 and CB2.

Running it through Swiss Target Prediction's database returned results for possible interaction with kappa opioid (salvinorin A target) and 5-HT2A (classical psychedelic) receptors.

I'm not that well versed in 5-HT2A pharmacophore, but the receptors certainly are very accepting towards a wide variety of different compounds (from piperazines to phenethylamines to lysergides to efavirenz).


Can you send me the reference of the El Sohly paper, as well as the paper the image is from?

They found n fixing bacteria in different plant cells. N transfer was also observed and was most likely in glandular trichomes.
"Trichome chemistry is hypothesized to function to scavenge oxygen around bacteria to facilitate nitrogen fixation."

My health is up & down now I am on oxygen all day as my blood oxygen levels are so low. My advice to all is DO NOT GET OLD. I will be 75 this month. I am a happy guy but my health sucks the last 2 years.

This chart represents the Illumina sequence coverage over the Bt/Bd allele. These are the three regions in the cannabis genome that impact THCA, CBDA, CBGA production. Coverage over the Active CBDAS gene is highly correlated with Type II and Type III plants as described by Etienne de Meijer. Coverage over the THCA gene is highly correlated with Type I and Type II plants but is anti-correlated with Type III plants. Type I plants require coverage over the inactive CBDA loci and no coverage over the Active CBDA gene. Lack of coverage over the Active CBDA and Active THCA allele are presumed to be Type IV plants (CBGA dominant). While deletions of entire THCAS and CBDAS genes are the most common Bt:Bd alleles observed, it is possible to have plants with these genes where functional expression of the enzyme is disrupted by deactivating point mutations (Kojoma et al. 2006).

I'm here in the US and am an RRT but have not practiced in decades. Did a bit of research on your condition, asked some old colleagues, told them you weren't here in the US.

They hope you are on at least one of these drugs... Nerandomilast, Saracatini., Saracatinibb.

Compared to what things were when I practiced, at least there's some treatment and hope for your condition now. As I always say, since I have decades of critical care experience, just take it a day at a time, do the best you can, and roll with it. (y)

I have this in my BIB at home I will be adding it when I can to the IC BIB

This _is_ truly an exciting time in cannabis development. I would _never_ have thought this would have happened when I first lit one up back in the '60s. ✌️
