No Tex, I wish it was!, I think the release is 3 weeks off yet!, sorry it's 6 weeks off, you all start looking in around 6 weeks. I won't lie to any Haze lovers it's around 3.
I have 9 x's on my calender and I had 12 spaces to x, it's a bit like waiting for Santa with grown up gift's, I think it will be worth the wait, then do the same wait again and it will still be weeks off dedication Tex, that's what we need, dedication.

Guy's I DID post last weeks pics, I was 1 day late last week! you need to click back, now come on you two, I don't mind clocking your time cards in but you must at least read the summaries,:D
You know that was a week ago now doncha, :bigeye:
Pop back 2 pages, maybe three now? you'll see last weeks pics, you can see the new pics when I do them tomorrow, around 20 hours time. This will be the end of week 9 (day 63) I will go to 10 weeks (Day 70) and do the usual pics then, that'll be 8 days from now.
When we are the end of 10 weeks, they will have done 2 weeks flushing so I will be waiting till the trichs are all at at least milky and finished the grow part.
Before I cut completely I will trim them and photo each bunch of flowers, if possible all in one shot?
I am planning to photo each bunch of colas, trimmed up, arranged again compare in same pics, show pics of average buds from each group, and later again do the same with dry stems, just prior to jar stage of cure, then I have to remove, when ready I will show the weights in pics on scales. Then I guess smoke tests will complete this test.
If anyone can think of anyway you would like me to arrange things I am more than happy to do anything possible.
BevoLabs and buddin good to see you both.

@ Tex & *mistress* Thank-you both :)

after harvest... options for tortoise & hare tests...
*quick dry fruit test w/in 5 days.
*fully dry test w/in 2 weeks.
*pre-cure/finished fruit test in 30 days.

will you be harvesting the boost plants sooner? since they are 3-4 days ahead of the others? probably good to harvest them @ same time... to compare ripeness.

since yield not concern in imaginary garden, more interested in differences, if any, between effect/taste/flavor/length of satiation after consumption, etc, etc... the 'non-yield' variables.

enjoy your garden!

Hi *mistress* Yes dear, I do intend to chop as one, I did not make myself very clear earlier on, I am sorry about that, I didn't mean I would harvest them as they ripened and reached 'at least milky' but rather, I will take them all at the point the last plant reaches mostly milky, that way all should be in the ideal harvest window albeit the early side for the last to go milky.
We should be able to see a range of milky/amber % ratio's, and look again at just how far one might be in front of another, so I agree this gives us the best chance to compare ripeness.

I will adopt this completely *m*, there seems no need to change any of it
so I will gladly accept your suggestion, I will be prepared early for a change, thats very handy.
*mistress*
*quick dry fruit test w/in 5 days.
*fully dry test w/in 2 weeks.
*pre-cure/finished fruit test in 30 days.

I will be looking at all aspects of the finished product that you have an interest in of course. the effect/taste/flavor/length etc I will be seriously inspecting these various plants with a couple of good judges and myself, I may have another very old head if he is allowed to stay in the country a while longer, either way they will be picked over with a fine-toothed comb, again *m* anything else you think of I will happily accommodate you, and anyone else too :D, I think thats it? this time tomorrow I will be doing the pics, I wont be late this week, it fell on a bad day for me but I will do them in time this week - Back then

I am dreading the smoke tests :D
Thank-you so much *mistress*, you make things very simple for me, I like simple

just dropping in to see how the test has been going...
those pics form a few weeks back look very familiar to the way mine plant did w/ & w/out...

great test/thread so far.

my money is still on the boosted plants (the boost + mollasses will probably be topps IMO) being superior in every way.

staying tuned...

Day 63 pics/update

Day 63 pics/update

OK. All plants have been on water (PH'd to 6.0) for 7 day's, they have all carried on fattening nicely, no signs of any problems, no mold etc.
The pistols have withered and darkened now on all but the little foxtails at the very top of all plants, this has happened to them as one?, I was not expecting that to be honest, the different rates the buds & crystals developed I expected something similar with the pistols.
On that, the calyx on the B's & D's have almost finished swelling, they are very close to full size, 2 or 3 days should be enough, the trichs on th B's are around 50% milky 50%+ clear, the D's are around 60%+ milky, 40% clear.
The A's & C's are still at least 6 or 7 days off full sized, at the moment I would say the A's are slightly more advanced in calyx development, they seem to have speeded up in the last few days.
The trichs on the the A's & C's are still at a similar stage, right now they are around 10 or 15% milky with 85% to 90% clear.
By next week (end week 10) it should be pretty close to all plants being inside the harvest window, we can decide when to chop then with luck.
I have more I want to say on the smells bu need to sniff around later as I didn't have time this lights off.

Below, this is all the 8 plants together, it is to show the colour and state of the leaves, you can see it is pretty even though the flash has not given a true image, they are not as sick looking at all, the pics above under CFL are better to judge, they look spot on to finish in a week and a half to me.
Back later with my smell report :D

excellent! - we've been having some quite 'heated' discussions about molasses in the organic forum and the results of this experiment may provide some insight

many thanks

Greyskull

the carbs (mollasses) are totally great.
imo (very uneducated but results based haha) one should always add carbs.. albeit mollasses or sweet or sweet leaf or whatever.. CARBS = GOOD

Brief Update @ 9 weeks 5 days

Brief Update @ 9 weeks 5 days

Hi All, I meant to post how the smells were progressing this weekend, I forgot somehow? so I will do that now along with the rest of where things are up to.

The plants have all been on plain water for almost 2 weeks and are staring to get quite yellow now, still lots of leaves on them, I have not removed any, I don't as a rule, unless dead/dying I leave them alone.
All buds have progressed albeit at their own separate speed's.
I will go through each group and post a couple of pics of each below.

The A's The 'Control', are doing very well, the buds have really start to swell up and little foxtails are popping out everywhere, I would say they are 70/75% full sized now, they need around a week I think, maybe 6 days?.
The crystals are starting to cloud up too and I would say around 50% are now milky/cloudy and 50% still clear.
All the buds are an odd combination of very ripe fruit and fuel in various strengths and I would have to put these ( A's) as the weakest of the 4 groups, not that it is 'weak' at all just in this instance. It is a softer smell, it takes a second snort to really get it but still it is a nice fresh weed smell that you don't tire of, tired of cleaning my nose with alcohol :D.
Below. A - Control - buds

IMG_1371.JPG
IMG_1385.JPG
IMG_1370.JPG

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The B's 'Canna Boost' plants, these are quite far in front of the A's [and C's for that matter but we will come to them.] The B's are 90%+ finished, they are a matter of days off being completely swollen(2 or 3) only the tips of the colas, the little tails and very low buds are not full size now.
The B's are the only plants with any amber crystals, only 5% at the most but still its some, the remainder - 95% - are cloudy/milky.
The smell from these plants is incredible, it hits you before you finish truffling your nose into a bud, the fuel side is a bit much on these, it stays with you if you smell it too much, has that effect where your tummy feels empty afterwards, the fruity side is also on the 'too much' side, it is really similar to over ripe fruit, you just don't know which?.

Update cont

Update cont

The C's - Molasses plants.
Like the A's these plants have lagged a little behind and could be as much as 1 week in total behind the Boost fed groups?, however they have been pushing on and doing very well this week. All the buds are swelling quickly now and like the A's are now around 70% to 75% fully formed.
The scent on the C's is without doubt the sweetest smelling, I am not sure if molasses has brought forward a sweet side or a lack of something has lessened the fuel side?, whichever it has made a fruitier, softer smell than the others, hardly any stomach even if you try OD ing on it, I did!.
I am really pleased at these differences, the smoke tests should prove interesting thanks to the various outcomes.
The C's still have the most clear crystals, around 55% 60% are still clear the remainder 40/45% being cloudy/milky.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

D- Canna Boost & Molasses
Last week these D's had slightly more cloudy/milky crystals than the B's, in terms of development the D's were in the lead and I expected the crystals to mature along the same lines but it is not the case?, the crystals have all (100%) turned milky/cloudy but none are amber, none clear, well 1 or 2 on the foxtails but of the mature buds none.
The D's are also only a day or 3 off fully formed, Like the B's I believe the Boost has had an effect on the smell of these plants, these have the most complex scent of the groups, still the same fuel/fruit but so much more, this really can make you feel sick if you keep smelling it, the fuel has another side, a solvent, acrid sharpness, like when you breath through your nose in winter, you feel it at the bridge. The sweet side is way better on the D's, again, same ripe fruit but you can detect real fruits, tropical fruits, all in a bowl of cream, really, something just rounds the taste/smell off like cream does. It is just a better, more complete aroma from these. They are all good but these are a notch above the A's and C's and a touch better than the B's - Boost without Molasses, I am seeing Canna Boost doing good things in the B's, in the D's when used with Molasses and the other nutrients it is exceptional in quality and a little extra quantity for sure.

Below D - Boost & Molasses buds.
