That is what makes the story all the more, ha, hazy, since people claim to get a bubblegum smell from his line (and others), but he has said many times his #3 BG cut was not bubblegummy smelling.All these stories... "bubblegum was not called bubblegum because of the flavor but because of how sticky it was" nahh not buying it. The real stuff, you couldn't name it differently even if you had a lot of creativity and a marketing machine and lots of money. It just screams BUBBLEGUM !!!
Still keeping my eyes and palate peeled for if I come across it again, I'm not letting it go again.

But, there is a long ago video of Adam saying the seeds were from the "bubblegum strain from Indiana" which lends to the notion it was a line that existed before THSeeds, and they picked up the name. He has mentioned many times he did not invent the name "Bubblegum".
