Can we discuss bubblegum?

The pink one isn't trying to imitate ANY fruit as far as I know. Pink bubblegum (the gum) is the original bubblegum, and was around long before all these fruit flavored bubble gums.

As far as I understand, they weren't really trying to mimic a specific fruit, but created a "generally fruity" combo of artificial flavourings which were around the "strawberry banana punch" zone, specifically catering towards a children's pallet and market.

Oh, that rumour that bubba kush is from bubblegum is also flawed because I have seen a video once where a guy named Bubba claimed to be the inventor of the strain bubba kush. My question which fruit the bubblegum is imitating didn't mean the weed plant bubblegum but the chewing gum. I mean, every colored bubblegum you eat stands for a fruit. Like yellow can mean banana or lemon, green for apple and red for strawberry. But I still don't get what fruit the pink one stands for.

I think there are different bubba kush out there, the line from Bubba, and also a Bubblegum X Kush version. I forgot what breeders do the bubblegum version but I do remember seeing this somewhere while perusing seeds. I wish they would have called this something else, could be as simple as “bubblegum kush” to differentiate it

Edit: saw a bubba kush from medicann that’s bubblegum x Hindu kush

I tried NIRVANA'S bubble gum, which they call Bubblicious. Here is their description- "Nirvana Seeds Bubblelicious was developed in the Midwest, U.S.A. then brought to Holland in the 90’s and further refined." So to me, it sounds like they had the Indiana bubblegum, and then took it to Holland and fucked it up. (just kidding)

But I did run a couple packs, and I had one or two that >sort of< had the bubblebum smell/taste. I had other projects going at the time, so I did a seed run for future research.

My point being, Nirvana might be as good a place to start as any now. You can get 10 regular seeds for just a little over $20, so buy four or five packs and go nuts.

That is what I would do if I were on a serious quest for a Bubblegum keeper.

Though I did have one plant turn Hermie, I believe it was because of the stress factors in the environment being my first grow I had a lot of fluctuation in my grow tent before I introduce climate control with AC and heating unit completely control the daytime and nighttime temperatures along with my humidity control and I found that after I lowered the Temps on a gradual decline towards end of flower stage the plants seem to do quite well, I actually made the mistake of throwing out the Hermie when in reality I could have clipped the ball sacks and the plant was still continue on just like a female after I remove the stress factors in the grow room

Also I would say it's very important to use a steady supply of cal-mag in the beginning as it transitions into flower, for some reason this strand loves cal-mag even in the flowering stage and if you didn't give it a steady supply from the beginning it would show signs of calcium and magnesium deficiency especially if your pH isn't perfect, I noticed a pH of 6.3 seem to be perfect and I've studied many article saying that 6. 5 is the perfect pH to absorb all nutrients except magnesium which tends to be more readily available in the PH range of 5.5 to 6. 3

I would also recommend using a product like terpinator, from what I understand seeing test results with lab analysis terpinator increases three specific terpenes regardless if the strain produces those or not, ending in an overall increase of 4% THC and adding a wider range of terpenes in the overall profile of the Strand. I do believe that terpinator combined with the flora nector I used enhanced the overall smell of bubble gum in the plants I have yet to begin the curing process so in 2 weeks when I'm done flushing and have finished my 3-day hanging cure I will give them a quick smell over and see how the overall profile comes out, of course I will then place them in the jars and continue on with the curing process and follow up with yet another smell update hopefully some of you stay tuned. Until then have a good one

My friend Will owned the Grey Area with Victor .. They won the cup with the Bubblegum .. Will used be the breeder for Cerebral seeds Amsterdam. The real Bubblegum that won the cup isn’t from Indiana, Victor brought it from Rhode Island. Will still holds the cup winning cut from 93 as do others . The Indian Bubblegum is no doubt good smoke , it’s not same as the strain that won the cup ..Hope this helps .. Check out the Adam Dunn show , the 25th anniversary of Bubblegum , my boy Will is on there , they go into detail about it .

Seeing these guys sitting together with A. Dunn leads me to the question, if I want the real Bubblegum I have to pop a pack from TH Seeds? Are they still working with the cup winning clone that Will brought with him to the studio?

Indiana Bubble Gum S1 Mosca

Indiana Bubble Gum S1 Mosca

Here's a week 4 of flower Mosca Indiana Bubblegum S1. I have two of these going with the rest of the strains along with one sherb Orbit right behind it. Just for fun I included the strawberry bubba kush by OG raskal, 7 to 10 year old seeds kept in freezer and still broke ground with 2 of them this grow.

Mosca has the original bubblegum clone and he S1’d it recently. I scored a pack of them and they are in route as we speak but it’s looking like they are increasingly sold out everywhere so I’m not sure if they are available right now. Problem is there’s no regs off it as it was clone only so trying to get some beans for storage will require some BX’ing for sure.

The Mosca and nspecta offering are an s1 of the Indiana BG, possibly not the same as the plant that A. Dunn/THSeeds won the cup with..

Ahhh true bubblegum, the bliss...
I have tried everywhere, from Amsterdam to Copenhagen and back, Colorado, California... evryone has bubblegum, but it's not THE bubblegum from the end of the 90s/ very early 00 years.
I have tried some seeds from THSeeds some time ago, as I too read that they have it but wasn't lucky. Have another one flowering right now but can't get back to smell it due to travel restrictions in EUrope!.
All these stories... "bubblegum was not called bubblegum because of the flavor but because of how sticky it was" nahh not buying it. The real stuff, you couldn't name it differently even if you had a lot of creativity and a marketing machine and lots of money. It just screams BUBBLEGUM !!!
Still keeping my eyes and palate peeled for if I come across it again, I'm not letting it go again.
