Can we discuss bubblegum?

Yeah, the buds were actually pink lol

I had it in Southwest Florida and it was $400 an oz

Interested in what circle that was in! At that time many circles were dealing w the ‘mango’ phenomenon. At that time, everybody had ‘mango’. ALL of it trash. Even the decent looking ‘mango’ was horrible. (Not saying there isn’t any good mango, I’m saying the market HERE was flooded with bullshit and a catchy name). Good luck on your hunt!

Ok I finally grew something properly bubblegummy..

RP strawberry banana (banana kush X strawberry bubblegum). Quite a few in my pack were straight up strawberry bubblegum learners, strong smoke too, really nice.

Having grown a 'real' bubblegum last winter I opened this thread to learn something.

Instead I found a good 80% of people have bought/grown "bubblegum" and it didn't live up to the advertising. No BBG taste. Oh, the strain I grew had a Topps gum taste which is different from Bazooka Joe. Slight difference but those terps may have been what gave it the taste. Some of the hits off a particular bowl or joint tasted an orange undertone which was quite nice.

Further, of those who have never had it, they ALL want to cross it to something else. Does this make sense to anyone? You have an heirloom seed and you want to screw it up by mixing it with Mango/Wedding cake?

It is indicative of the market today, crazy thoughtless crosses. No wonder we don't have what was a great strain.

Next summer I will grow out my bubblegum. It had a sativa like high lasting about 3 hours and when you scored the top cola you got electric shocks up and down your spine into your head. Lasted about 25 or 30 minutes.

What happened to BBG is doubtless what is going to happen to most heirloom or landrace strains. The little 'crossers' are going to screw it up.

So a “strawberry filled donut” is next?
Some of the best fire of all time was Tony’s late 90’s release of bubble berry
The parents are still around and someone who showed a wee bit of industrial ness can easily acquire the clone only’s and make a nifty profit
Even DJ’s blueberry mom is going around

Hey I've been growing 8 feminized seeds of Indiana Bubblegum S1 from Humboldt CSI and while they had some sweet touch to it, you guessed it, no bubblegum smell.

I would describe the smell as mixture of fresh opened sticker adhesive surface with melissa balm (melissa officinalis). Effects were ok/not bad.

I've also grown B.O.G. Seeds Bogbubble. Got 14 seeds instead of 10 and only had two males.

Still only some undefinable smell coming from these, no bubblegum.

Effects also pretty ok but all in all this grow was a flop.

EDIT: The ones I described as Indiana Bubblegum from CSI were probably the S1 from Mosca Seeds, because lately I found that empty Mosca package and I have both.

But I'm not 100% sure now. Sorry.

Did you try the one from serious seeds? I never grew bubblegum before but that is the one I will try. We used to have a bubbegum coffeeshop cut here that smelled like pink bubblegum.

So many people talking about something they know nothing about. I gave you all the hints I am going to. Then want to screw it up by crossing it with something inferior.

As an example I saw someone made a cross with Cherry Bomb. What a waste!

So you’re saying that Bubblegum itself should never of been made?? Pretty sure that’s a hybrid as well..

I can understand what you’re saying but if there was no hybridisation then we’d all still be growing landrace’s.

I went to Amsterdam some time in the 90s, walked into a coffeeshop ( can’t remember the name ) and scored some bubblegum, the bud smelled exactly like pink bubblegum.
It did exist once:)

Years later I was given a cut of bubblegum that had zero bubblegum smell to the flower but when smoked filled the room with a pink bubblegum aroma.
I never noticed it before until I walked into my friends place and asked “ are you smoking bubblegum mate? “ how do you know that he replied? Because I could smell pink bubblegum, the room was thick with it:biggrin:

I ditched the cut after a couple of grows because the dried flowers were so lightweight, even though cola’s were huge, dried they were light as a feather.

I've had two kinds of bubblegum, one more soapy like a pink urinal puck, and the other more juicy like strawberry bubblicious

the soapy one was more of a light euphoric high, the juicy one had more kick to it
