Here is a "Bubba Gah", which is pre-2010 Serious Seeds Bubblegum crossed with an interesting Afghan strain called Lashkar Gah. I've worked it out to the F4 generation so far with very promising results. This here is one of the nicest F2s. Hoping to get my hands on the real deal Indiana Bubblegum one of these days and do a backcross. :tiphat:

Best SS bubblegum phenos were the lower yielding ones...intense smelling and trichome production and a more narrow leaf...they were also quite sensitive to nutrients...lighter in colour...best ones had Mint undertones!...one of my all time favourite lines...haven't seen anything close in a few years...

What's the difference in genetics for this re-Release?

Thanks fellers

Looking good...

GT

Was beyond excited to see a re-release!

I've got some reworked 2017 bubblegum in my tent at the moment and there's even a diary round here with a scrog

The re-worked Bubblegum is the original mom crossed with a male in the family. That was related to me by Serious Seeds when I inquired after receiving the pack of beans.

Ok here is my take on the father of bubblegum, I guess it also could be the mother of bubblegum too, I don't have all the facts, I was near but not there when it happened. Let's assume that it was indeed seeded up in Dubois county Indiana first. We need to identify the this particular individual and commission a statue in their honor at that particular Dubois county Indiana location. Establish a date the plant bore these famous seeds. On that date we make pilgrimage to the location/statue to honor the birth of bubblegum. Everyone bring their close as I can grow strain, regardless of breeder, of bubblegum to the celebration. We toke up and honor the person and plant on that special day. We then travel to the Schnitzelbank or Ireland chicken place (Only Hoosiers from this area will know these eating emporiums) and feast on fried chicken and cold beer, toasting the creator of bubblegum every damn year. I think for Hoosier's this should be a great source of pride since Bob Knight no longer coaches at IU. I'll be happy to coordinate the function and make appropriate reservations at the eating emporium for lunch or dinner. I will bring my poor representation of bubblegum with me and expect the other attendees to do the same. Please fill in the blanks for the missing information I do not have so we can get this annual celebration started. I'd prefer a spring, summer or early fall date, and we can throw in a golf outing at Christmas Lake course or Sultan's run. If we do this Monday through Friday, we can get the Senior's discount on green fees to lower the golfing cost. Forward all reservations to my attention. Smoke and grow some bubblegum any breeder's bubblegum and let's have some fun right under the nose of this backward, conservative dumb ass too many old white men in charge state of Indiana. Peace and respect.

I've smoked the mum it's tastes of bubblegum. His cross i'm growing ATM & it's a mutant line.

For such an expensive price per seed considering the latent disorders I am seeing, it hardly seems worth growing to maturity.

It's cute a bit floppy & has nothing on GrowDoc's Bubbledust for impeccable breeding.

Hm, interesting thread.

I grew out a pack of Serious Seeds Bubblegum over 10 years ago, when I was just starting and knew even less than I know now! :p

7/10 seeds germinated, 4 were males; of the remaining three - one was OK average affie-skunky (and a bit hermie prone), one was cool floral with a bit of a bubblegum flavour but the third was an amazing spot-on bubblegum expression.
Good yielder, crazy Bazooka Joe/Wicks pink bubblegum aroma, one of the best smelling plants I have ever come across! After all these years I still remember that divine aroma.

Being a total noob, I thouight this was a common thing, not that I knew anything about revegging/cloning at the time. In fairness, I wasn't overly mad for the high, not quite as chilled as I'd hoped, so I didn't even think about keeping it. Another thing I noticed was that the grinder hash from it had a definite reddish-brown colour, like old style Affie. If I'd found this expression now, I'd probably be over the moon. Oh, well, - "Aint it allways how it goes, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone, pave paradise, put up a parking lot..dooh, doooh, dooop"

However, let's not for forget that Indiana BG was not a strain but a cutting, and it seems that its qualities resurface now and then in various offerings (did someone say Critical?) so I am sure that chemovars of that type will resurface now and then in various Indicas, including wild ones. Question is, who will keep them?

I just trimmed a Critical Mass pheno I found and while trimming I had a strong aroma that reminded me of bubblegum/wild berries or the like. Some fuel/cleaner mixed into it.

Was also extremely gooey and sticky and while trimming I thought that this is at least close to what I imagined as Bubblegum.

I hope it's not too much offtopic but as there has been mentioned critical mass I'd like to add my 2 cents.

The bilbo cut of critical mass has very fruity and sweet scents and I would say it smells not like bubblegum but more like "sugus".

Had mites and wasn't a perfect grow so don't have many pics but I found one:

Bilbo isn't typical critical mass at all, even if some get plants that are similar in some aspects, bilbo is clone only and the seedversions I've tried are clearly different (and inferior). Specially in taste and smell.

Anyway even if I like this cut, I find critical mass, after growing different versions and crosses to be one of the most bland and boring strains out there. Potency is usually ok, but i find taste and high are very bland. Dutch mid grade with good yield. I wouldn't spend much time on them, and less looking for bubblegum smells.

On the bubblegum topic, a few years ago I scored some watermelon-bubblegum smelling bud that was incredible in the taste-smell department. People wouldn't believe it, they usually asked if I had put bubblegum in the bag before showing them. I remember a hole subway-wagon smelling of watermelon and all the passangers sniffing trying to find out where that came from...

Cheers.
