I agree with every single thing you said in your post , the worst plants I've grown have come from th seeds , people need to realise these big Dutch comps out source their seed making to Spanish fem makers , all these Dutch companies at one time or another shined , sadly they all went to shit years ago , the Dutch laws make it very difficult for a seed bank owner , who by now is pretty rich and runs a business has got old and probably doesn't even smoke cannabis any more ,got kids family and settled down , these guys sure don't have a cannabis castle holding their old strains , the strains are held by workers growers and so on as the years go by the owner looses control of what was once there master work , but demand fuels the market people still want the legendary seeds and will keep buying them , only the old growers will know that what some has just grown as feminised kalimist is in no way at all similar to the actual kalimist we all used o love , I grew it out feminised , not sure what it was but it was one of the worst plants I ever grown . These strains are only preserved by private breeders and collectors , I used the pre 98 kalimist for the kalishnapple which was awesome , and I agree that even back in the day when the bubblegum and blueberry where hot topics , Dutch masters blueberry for example never had a nice sweet blueberry pheno ever after years of growing them all ways dry woodsy purple stem peppery buds , bu if you purchased blue mystic from nirvana or may kc you would get strait up blueberry , they added northern lights and it was better , same with a lot of the strains at the time nirvana and kc had the proper hybrids much like the smaller breeders now , where as sensi seeds was the market leader and dominated the seed and strain industry , their lines were more stable and yielded very well , you knew what you was getting and you got it when planting sense seeds , but when you wanted to find some thing special you would find them in comps like nirvana , sagamtha at one point had special genetics and where amazing but they to changed , great topic for discution

I agree with all that you said apart from kalishnapple being awesome lol.
ive told plenty of people about my experiences with serious seeds ak47. we first smoked it back in the 90s I think and it was a powerful smoke. I grew out about 6 packs a few years back, two of which directly from the company and the rest from a list reseller (tude) all of them were bland airy bud a large proportion of full blown herm plants and auto flowers and everything in between. then when I questioned the reps and simon on the forums they tried to make like it was my fault lol. and I quote ''because they auto flower under t5s (floros).'' so there you go.

anyways, back to bubble gum!. I love blueberry too but that's a whole other thread..
if bbg is around it will be a small private breeder who is passionate about the line who has preserved it in seed form imo. such as bog and brother monk. and of course there are the old legit cuts out there like the ibg or whatever other keepers from back in the day.

serious seeds bubblegum is not stable at all can be very stretchy and hermi , dutch passion (dj shorts blueberry ) the same very bad mutants hermi's , don't give them the time of day you will be very disappointed , you will waste a lot of money and time an effort just like i did with them 2 strains

not tried it but heard good things... bubblegum (ibl strain) selfed seeds.

smoked some serious bubblegum, tasted good, not too powerfull but not bad if you smoke enough. lol

Not grown myself but my friend was keeping a bubblegummer girl for years, stinkiest than slard bubble he had too.

Coxnox has grown brightmoments (grapestomper bx), he found nice phenos and one especially, real bubblegum smell and taste, my favourite bubble by now, ok 9/10 fem didn't smell like this one but i think you have more chances to find something bubble in these as in serious stock

Thanks Syd, I harvested at around 12 weeks from memory and the smell was powerful & constantly changing during flowering.... Sometimes musky, earthy other times very sweet like candy fruit

When cut & dried it developed a strawberry skunky smell which translated to the same taste, it was mouth coating flavour that left me almost chewing on the exhale, hard to describe it but it was very moreish the only problem was it was almost too potent for daytime use but the taste was addictive.

I never got the pink bazooka Joe bubblegum pheno but I think it was close and the flavour lingered in my mouth for a long time after smoking it which was nice, lipsmacking good and chewy.

I still have some more beans and may give it another shot sometime soon

THseeds bubblegum. I bought a pack and got 10 girls all of which were pretty terrible except for this one.

They all had a sweet bubblegum like smell to them but it's nothing to write home about. The highs were all weak as hell except for the girl I kept which is actually pretty narcotic and great for sleeping on, but she's also particularly unnoteworthy in the scent department so it too will be dropped soon enough.

Honestly growing it was like meeting a childhood hero who's turned into an loser. I'm glad I did it and all but what a disappointment.

In the mid to late 90's large amounts of both bubblegum and bubbleberry made their way through the festival scene (orange crush and williams wonder were a couple other big ones i remember) and although the bubblegum was true to its name the bubbleberry was actually better and was preferred over the straight bubblegum (or straight blueberry).

That bubbleberry had one of the nicest highs and tastes you could find at the time on the market. it just had this really feel good buzz and tasted almost exactly like that cotton candy flavored hubba bubba and was incredibly sticky. I remember it also had a skunky waft to it from further away.

No clue if the bubbleberry seeds that are on offer today are any good but that combo of bubblegum and blueberry definitely sticks out as a highlight from my smoking past.

I don't know exactly what this contributes to the thread but there ya go haha

1996 i was getting bubbleberry..i wholeheartedly agree this was a better product than the parents alone...abit leafy but it ponged to high heaven. I asked the guys who did it and they said it was sagarmaths seeds. they were good back then it appears....who knows now.

Chicle from TH Seeds is quite an amazing Bubblegum cross. the Pheno that I chose has super compact buds that are completely coated in trichs. I have had dabs that are weaker than this flower. Headband x Bubblegum.. I would put the THC level over 25% easy. The taste is hints of pink bubblegum, sweet hash, with hints of chem and a blueberry aftertaste.

I wish I could share. I wish I could lab test. Issues currently with cards and labs wanting them. I plan to cross with girl scout candy which has bubblegum in the male side a few crosses deep from bogbubble.

Hopefully that preserved the taste AND potency. Fingers crossed.
