big bust in bangor/cherokee….LMAO at how they make it sound like growing seeds is some big criminal enterprise….bullshit

More than 1,000 marijuana plants were eradicated in the past week from commercial growing sites in Cherokee and Bangor, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit officers served a search warrant Wednesday at a property in the 3800 block of Cherokee Road, following aerial surveillance that showed hundreds of marijuana plants hidden in manzanita on the property and neighboring properties, according to a news release.

Officers found that neighboring property owners were unaware that their land was being used as a cultivation site, according to the release.

Officers eradicated 636 marijuana plants from the site, totaling more than 3,300 pounds, according to the release. Two people ran away into brush in the area when officers served the warrant at the property in Cherokee.

Deputies were unable to find the people, but two .22-caliber rifles were found in marijuana processing areas, according to the release. Officers also found 6 grams of methamphetamine.

On Thursday, officers served a search warrant in the 1200 block of the Swedes Flat Road in Bangor, following aerial surveillance that showed hundreds of marijuana plants hidden in brush, according to the release.

An unknown number of people ran away into the brush when deputies arrived and couldn’t be found, according to the release.

Officers did find weapons at the scene, including a 9 mm handgun and a 12-gauge shotgun, according to the release.

Also found was a seed bed containing 520 marijuana plants that was allegedly being used to harvest marijuana seeds for future growing operations, according to the release.

A total of 725 marijuana plants were eradicated from the property, with a net weight of 1,400 pounds, according to the release.

Brian Cole, 56, of Bangor, allegedly arrived as deputies served the warrant at the property, according to the release. Cole was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana and maintaining a residence for drug sales.

Lmfao no one is going to be a primary caregiver for 5 people dude, even an RN can't handle more then 2. You pretty much have to live with the people, whip their asses, feed them, and out em into bed.

We will all get 100 IF THE GOVERNOR SIGNS THE BILLS BIT HE HASN'T YET!!!! this is a great sign, keep calling his office and faxing him and blow that shit up!

from what I read on IG anything other than a veto is a pass...shitty.

Wow they be throwing the fucken book at those guys! Wtf is with their total weight crap? They like to weigh the shot wet, root ball and dirt included. So fucken stupid cause that shit always gets reduced in court and a good lawyer could get that thrown out completely IF it was actually medical but those probably weren't so they are fucked.

Whadeezlrg - yes california no longer allows pocket vetos so we need the governor to directly veto them. EVERYONE KEEP CALLING THE GOVERNORS OFFICE!!!

and in other news...yuba county needs help this weekend gathering signatures for the recall campaign. What happens here effects the rest of the state. If we nail down a victory here it gives lawyers in other counties more to go on. PLEASE COME HELP AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!! pm me to coordinate. We are down to the wire and it's looking marginal. If we fail to qualify the recall, it will seriously damage the yuba campaign. We can't have the news printing stories about how stoners can't do anything and we are powerless to fight the county. If we get a win and successfully recall supervisors it's going to send a message to supervisors in other counties that this is real and it can happen. If it doesn't happen they will continue to think they are untouchable. Please people, come over to marysville this weekend and help us in a last minute door to door signature gathering campaign this our last opportunity.

"NEW RULES FOR BIG POT GROWS IN CENTRAL VALLEY

REDDING ( TNS ) The board that governs the Central Valley Region's water policy voted 4-0 to enact new restrictions and regulations on outdoor medical marijuana grows at its meeting in Redding on Friday.

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board approved the regulations, talked about water theft and touched on marijuana legalization.

The rules received near universal praise. They include three tiers of annual fees, the largest of which is $10,000 and apply only to grows larger than 1,000 square feet.

They also allow regulators to impose fines of up to $10,000 per day per violation, said Clint Snyder, assistant executive officer. However, officials will have discretion on how much to impose, he said.

The rules, which will likely take effect Monday, apply to the entire valley from Kern County up to part of Siskiyou County.

The water board's ruling doesn't override local growing bans, said Patrick Pulupa, an attorney with the water board.

Or maybe I should just stay way out of the valley.

Wow they pulled a huge a bait and switch! Now it's 10k for only 1000 square feet?!?!?!?!

Omfg fuck that shit. I really hope everyone who got away with their harvest this year isn't going to be short sighted and greedy. We need a volley of lawsuits. This is so fucken not right they are targeting a certain demographic and creating groups of people and attacking them in the most discriminatory way possible.

Where's the 10k per 1k square feet permits for the rest of the the farmers? Pure fucken bullshit those greedy ass bitches!

WTF. 10k permit for over 1000 sq feet, and then 10k per day fines if not behaving like a good robot. This is really depressing to read that people are doing 180's in historically cool places.:moon:

I should have been more careful when I posted this. Much of the thread is about misinformation. Even though this is written, it appeared to me that it isn't true. The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board isn't the correct agency to establish such a fee schedule. I believe the author of the article included parts of the the bill on the governors desk with the water board rules. I am with you on the 1000 sq. ft. figure and hope that he screwed that up too.

A judge ordered the Yuba County Board of Supervisors to revoke a $16,000 nuisance abatement penalty imposed on the landlords of an Olivehurst property, where a marijuana garden was found.

Yuba County Superior Court Judge Stephen W. Berrier filed the order on Friday in response to Jon and Amy Messick's legal challenge filed in May. Jon Messick is a former county planning commissioner.

A marijuana garden violated a county nuisance ordinance on the Messicks' property in the 4600 block of Ardmore Avenue. The Messicks were informed of the violation on Sept. 22, 2014, and the violation was corrected by Sept. 26, 2014.

The board held a hearing in February and approved a $15,974 assessment against the Messicks' property for daily administrative penalties.

The Messicks challenged the fee during the hearing and later in court.

"Luckily, in our system, we have a judge who knows the law, can follow that law and can make sure that any government entity, especially Yuba County Board of Supervisors, do not run rough shod over their citizens, and that's what they've been doing with the marijuana ordinance," said the Messicks' lawyer, Roberto Marquez.

"They want to generate revenue, and that's what they're doing," he said.

Marquez had said the county is holding property owners liable for the sins of the tenants, and property owners are subject to civil liability if they violate tenant rights.

"All they can do is request action," Marquez said. He noted it takes 30 to 90 days to kick tenants out.

In his order, Berrier cited county code that provides an exception to an owner's responsibility to abate a public nuisance if the owner "did not cause, permit, or otherwise allow the existence of the violation and cannot legally abate said violation but has reasonably taken action to do so."

Chief Deputy County Counsel John Vacek said the county is considering appealing Berrier's decision.

any word on the outcome of any butte county abatement hearings?? from what I've heard they keep delaying the hearings at the last minute.

I haven't talked to anyone who has gone through the abatement hearing process, nor anyone who was tagged that has had one scheduled. I saw a trailer full of plants being abated in Yuba County this morning, but didn't see anything going on in Butte County.

I was in Cherokee, and realized the big bust on Cherokee Road was a customer. He didn't speak a word of English, but the bank took the money he paid me just fine.

A bunch of injunctions and lawsuits will be filed and they go into effect until 2018. The csaa can fix these bills and was written specifically to knee cap them!!! @csaa2016 who wants to donate and volunteer and make it happen?
