awesome. i'm finally gonna order one. it's only be about 4 years or so since i saw you using the prototype bells and such. I'm glad to be able to support you instead of the vapor swing or skillet dudes.

whats different about the HMK?

The small bore on the stem/small bell keeps vapor loss to a minimum, zero if you have your technique down.

The small bell compared to the bell on a skillet curve means less air and more vapor is being inhaled.

I had a friend try some BHO of my kutvape, just out of a tiny pea shooter glass on glass bong, and he was blown away at the quality, and minimal loss of his hit. He previously owned a skillet vapor curve. Then he couldn't get over the colors as well, so overall i'm happy I got the original.

The thicker grade 2 titanium plate opposed to the thinner grade 1 plate on a vapor swing holds heat better, and I find is better at getting a steady vape temp that doesn't plummet in seconds.

I saw that vapor swing on TY, the angle of the skillet was just wrong in so many ways. Then the demo pic it looked like more vapor was escaping than was being captured. Like T3's big vapor bells, they didn't work worth shit

I find using Pyrex baking pans to work well for evaporation. Also a good and cheap way to go about finding a vessel for extraction a linear water pipe (or one that's been broken) that has a 5mm wall or thicker, better still to be fused with Pyrex... The Pyrex seems to hold well against the extreme temp variants....Also a clean safety pin works wonders while handling just touch bare end with flame lightly and it drops right off the end

i know i looked again today, i couldnt believe the terrible angle and huge gap too. and that lil bong thing shoulda had a 90 degree curve too.

just ordered the last right handed HMK curve from the new stock at auqalab. very excited to get it in the mail. I'm glad I waited and didn't jump on any of the knock offs. been making some awesome single origin oil lately too. sitting next to me I have schrom only, sour diesel only, and blueberry only oil ready to go when it comes!

Ya'l ever use the "atom smasher?" I never new... I made a quarter pound of oil my first try, holy shit! I went to buy a chunk of coal n left with the AS instead. I've burned through an ounce in less than 2 weeks. So Hooked!

i had like 2 lbs of sugar leaf and lower buds that didnt make the grade for bagging up (i cut off all the fan leaves the night before harvest so my clippings are all yum and less green)
of that 2, i used 1.75 for oil and and the remainder for bubble hash

hey guys, I'm new here but I'm glad I found this forum. There is some fantastic information to be found here.

I have about 2-4 oz of saved up leftovers from my vaporizer. Various strains of pretty good cannabis. I know there are still active compounds in this material, its mostly a darkish green dried up material, not taken to the dark brown/nearly combusted stage

I have been considering doing a BHO extraction with this material. Anyone done BHO from vaporizer leftovers ? I don't know for sure what to expect but I am guessing it will be a sticky brown/black messy oil produced from this material as opposed to pretty amber oil from fresh buds

the other thing I've considered is doing a vegetable glycerin extraction, which takes a while but is "safer", and I'm hoping to be able to use a glycerin extraction in my electronic cigarettes that I use to keep my nicotine habit satisfied without resorting to tobacco cigarettes. E-cigs can already use nicotine + vegetable glycerin solutions so I am assuming it should work with thc laced glycerin

I have extracted bho from vaporizer dregs - it came out just as you describe.

What brand(s) of ecig let you make up your own solution with glycerin? Seems like a cool thing to do with some water cured weed. Completely stealth.

I have tried/collected probably a dozen different brands/types of electronic cigarette since I started using them last november (I am a gadget guy, and gadgets+nicotine = awesome for me lol)

anyway my current favorite is called the "eGo", its made by several chineese companies (they all copy each other over there) and I use it with a low-resistance 510 atomizer.

as far as I know, you can use your own solutions of vegetable glycerin with any e-cig. you can either drip a couple drops of the liquid straight into the atomizer or you can refill the cartridges with your liquid. I use pre-mixed nicotine/VG liquid that I buy from a website that has some really tasty flavors, but I know of lots of people who mix their own (on the large e-cig forums theres lots of DIY info)

Wow. What a beautiful thread. Just now finished, started from the very beginning... about 2 hours ago. So obviously I am a big fan - and avid practitioner. Nice to meet you all. My neck of the woods they call me AT. :tiphat:

A big thanks to The Chief for starting this thing... And a big thanks to HMK for his input. Been a fan for a while and always looked forward to sharing info with you. Love your Ti rig too.
Partial lo heat purging myself. I actually like to warm/freeze a few times while purging. I use parchment paper for handling my "dollops" after they first come out of my working bowl. No matter how sticky and melty - just a quick chill in a freezer and your oil peels right away. Just be sure you don't use wax paper. I did. Once.

I use 30" x 1 1/8" id heavy wall glass tubes with unbleached coffee filters. Top is sealed tight after loading. All butane-to-tube connections are sealed and pressure tight. I find it's best to just pressure pass the butane as fast as possible through the material. With the 30 incher I usually use up to a 1/4 lb per run with 3 full cans of Vector (320 ml). Depending on the quality of my sugar trim I usually get 7 - 8 grams per run. Depending on the run - I like to kick back in a bit of kif to make things more manageable.

I vape. Big Time. I use a Hot Rod Vapor bowl set up we blow - on a little bubbler I call "MrX". (Mr. X)

Sometimes I just load up an "oil flask" and just heat and toke. :)

Heat + Vacuum = Vapor!

Also a big advocate of the ethyl finish-wash to loosen the oil's viscosity to release the trapped butane. Been planning on using methods to de-carb (thc-A>thc) the material prior to running, too. Maybe try either flash heating of the material or an alkaline bath and rinse before running... Think it's worth the effort?

Thanks.

Hello AT! Fancy bumping into you here!

I recognize your oil pipe design as Tim's and GG's. May I ask where you found it?

Hey Buddy!

The MrX body design was a collaborative effort between myself and shop partners here in town. There are 70+ of 'em floating around now. More to follow. :)

The Hot Rod Hash Masher Bowl is a one handed hot knife design that's been around for years. (Even before Illidelph... but I like their units. :))

The "flask" style vaporizer and it's design of operation are all me however. When heated with a simple lighter - combined with the vacuum of the draw itself, (there is an air flow "limiting" intake port on the flask) it milks right up with beautiful, non-"combusted" oil vapor goodness. :)

Nice to see you here GW. I'm making lots of trips down south this season, but it would be nice to maybe finally have that tea and swap methods someday soon?
