Bud Mountains 2015 GG

Gl bro i have seen the Captan fungicide at wally world before but never thought about using it. i did a quick search online and i only found one thread where a guy used it to treat/prevent bud rot and he was happy wit it. keep me post on how it does it may be something i need in the ole tool box just in case i need it for next year. so far though the things i have been using combined with the outdoor strains ive ran all seems well so we shall see. we have a great week of weather coming up which is perfect for this time of year so the plants should make some huge bud growths this week. im gonna spray down my critical jack with actinovate and regalia on monday.

Well after checking in on that plot I decided to go ahead and do a harvest. This specific strain only had about 2 weeks left, but still has some killer ass frosty buds. Mostly all of the had a little but of rot, a couple buds on each one, so I decided with my numbers and as many other plots as I have to go ahead and chop. I left 6 large plants that was not affected and went ahead and sprayed them with CAPTAN and liquid sevin for the bud worms. I will probably check them in a few days and see how its working. I will wash the buds good as well before hanging to dry.

I estimated a little over a pound so far after chop on that specific plot, all together im guessing a lb left there. Maybe more.

Tonight i'm going to visit my other larger plot that is not as far into flower and go ahead and hit them with the CAPTAN/Sevin mix as well... Maybe even use BT there if its not that bad. I hate harvesting early, next year bud worms will eat hell.... I guarantee that!

Update soon!

Well, checked in on plot 2,3,4 and 5 night before last, plot 2 being the largest and furthest along. No bud rot at all in the entire patch, except for one webbing inside a bud, but it wasn't rot, it was some kind of insect nest. I went ahead and cut it out and sprayed it with H2o2 and then sprayed the wound with pruning sealer (which is something I will start using all the time now, it keeps things out of the plant like viruses, molds and insects).

I did carefully inspect all branches that I could, did take me several hours and sprayed the buds with BT only, no fungicide, yet. I also sprayed the leaves and inside the buds along the main stem that they lay upon.

This patch is pretty much all landrace/brick weed seeds. I can't believe how vigorous and healthy they are. The insects don't seem to like sativas nearly as much as indica and indica doms. Something about the peppery, skunky grapefruit smell they just don't like.

The buds are coming along considerably well at the moment to be sativa doms. I will try and get pics of these girls as soon as possible maybe even today. I also think I will order some humboldt gravity and give them a couple feedings of it to kinda thicken em up. Does anyone know how the new gravity works compared to the old formula?

Something interesting I have found along the long slim fingered sativas is the pistils on most of them are purple or more fuchsia colored very beautiful colors. I have a wide arrange of phenos, this patch will probably be my head stash as I am a sativa lover lol.

Hope to update again soon!

I also forgot to add that I bought some molasses to feed the girls a couple days ago. I use molasses anyway, but this shit it pure and thick. I bought it at a hunting supplies store, it is in a gallon container for $12.00. It is feed grade and says it is 82 Brix formula, very heavy weight! The ingredients does not contain any sodium as most deer and bear attractants do.

Here is the active ingredients:
Moisture Max...........27.00% (whatever this means)
Total Sugars..............43.00%
Brix, min....................82

Molasses, Propionic Acid (preservative).

It does say Warning- Not for human consumption.

I decided not to use the molasses, I just put it back for hard times lol. Right now i'm using a mixture of agave nectar, unsulphured Brer Rabbit molasses and organic raw honey. Seems to be doing the job very very well.

Update on the bud rot issue!:

The CAPTAN has literally stopped the bud rot in its tracks, since I sprayed about a week and a few days ago, one time, it has not spread whatsoever! The plant looks extremely healthy and the buds are weighing down the branches! This stuff is the fuckin bees balls! I love it!

So therefore I recommend one to use it during a bad outbreak. I am happy and fortunate enough to have found a product that will at least let me finish my girls out to where they need to be, good stuff, realllllllly good stuff. Does not hardly even smell, weaker smell than BT in my opinion and only paid $40 bucks for 5 lbs of it and it only takes 2 tbsp per gallon.

Tonight I am going to check on my landrace patch that is mostly from very good brick weed. Something I forgot to add last time, I remember buying this stuff by the ounce just to get the seeds, while breaking it up I had come across a few pieces of bamboo... Where do you guys think this smoke was coming from? I'm pretty sure there is no bamboo in mexico but I am not sure.

I will try and get some pics and post them as well. I have noticed the main feature that really stands out in these girls are the fuchsia and pink pistils she has. The other day I realized that some of the buds are even turning pure fuchsia/purple colored as well, and very healthy. It is weird coloring, I have grown purple bud before but this is like purple pacthes all over the buds. Not spots here and there but like one half of the bud is purple and the other is green, odd lol but breath taking!

Hope to update soon.

I wish someone could help me identify this strain or region of originate. It has a really weird smell, fresh green pepper, witch hazel, astringent and bleach with sweet fruity undertones. More fruity when dried out. Man I have like butter bowl full of these beans lol.

Also very very earthy as well. It id just so hard to describe because there are so many mixed smells lol. I've noticed on all plots that I am also running this strain, i'm seeing many purple stems as well.

I would also like to add that I harvested the tops of the previously uploaded photos of the CHP that I had growing in a fence row and got a little over 5 oz dry. Left more than half the plant which also has huge nugs all over it to mature a week or so more before I finish her off. Do not have any pics of harvest on that one but will post some dried nugs soon.

Super frosty, dense/heavy nugs covered in trichomes! Very sweet and lightly skunky smelling with a hint of spice once jarred up. About 5 days before I chopped I had fed her some of Humboldt Counties Own Gravitation G-10 (replaces gravity) and could tell a huge difference in a short period with the flower size and bud density. This stuff really kicks ass, wish I had ordered it sooner. It supposedly does not contain any PGR's. But whatever kind of kelp magic brew they put into those bottles really does work, I highly recommend trying it, especially if you are having trouble getting your buds to tighten and harden up.

Try to get some pics tomorrow, time to hit the sack for the night and contemplate harvesting the rest of her and some others before we get two days of rain starting Friday!

Very nice plants for bagseed! I wouldn't recommend using pesticides on buds. Even with washing theres probably going to be some left. Thats cool the gravitation works well! Good to know. Wouldn't ripen resin, but would help get more buds going... :smoke:

looking good bro! is the hashplant u are doing the one from dinafem? make sure u get some Delahaze bro for next year. u can thank me after season next year once u get to witness the power this strain has over me for urself. i also see that moondawg always rec to people to grow dinafem blue widow and barneys pineapple chunk,so im gonna be ordering those for sure for next year, hes from KY as well so it will work great for us. we are suppose to get that rain tomorrow as well. i have already got the ladys SAR on high alert in preperation for it. i will go st8 back out after the rain and spray with actinovate just to ease my mind. im going to get the rest of the incredible bulk in the morning. i was there yesterday and the trichs are at 95% milky with ambers here and there. im hoping the last 48hrs will give me a few extra amber on it,but if it nots all good. i been flushing her out using flawless finish. nice to know the gravitation works..i may look into using that next year if i decide to grow the biddy early again since the pheno i got was quite leafy and bit to airy for my liking. i havent smoked any yet though so that will be the decideing factor if i will grow it again.

Hey bro! Yeah the CHP I'm running was a freebie with my last year's order from the tude. I'd ran all my seeds and clones and then ran a whole grow of freebies. I cloned all of them before flower and ended up holding onto the CHP.. Good thing I did lol because she is a beast and very potent at that. I will say that she has had some bud rot here and there but nothing too devastating.

The problem with her is the density of the buds. Rock hard buds and is passing for indoor high grade easily. That in my opinion is the cause of the rot with her. Also the bud worms love her, a little too much. If you could keep her worm free and maybe top a few times to break down the main cola density then you would definitely have a champ on ur hands.

She was ready fully by September 20th. Some of the single cuts of her I put out in a 2x2 hole with only native soil in July yielded up to 9 ounces a piece. Great plant all around.

On a side note I've been out of town for about 3 days and still got another 2 days before I head home. Many of my girls that are out there finishing up have been sitting in continuous rain now and high humidity for about 3 days straight with hardly any breaks. Still 3 more days of rain to go off an on. That is all I can think about right now is botrytis... it is worrying me to death I cannot wait to get back home and check.

Most of what's left out there are sativa dominate or land race pures. So that's the only thing giving me hope right now. You guys think I'm ok? Lol.

Another plant I recommend that was a freebie as well is ghs kalishnikova, pheno dependent. Biggest buds I've seen in years and zero rot so far, very independent strain. I had two critical kush plants beside it and checked on it the other day they were solid black gooey rot. It was sad. The kalishnikova was towering above huge and healthy probably gonna be my biggest yielder this year for sure. This is also a set and forget plot as well.

I'll update once I get back home and let u guys know how everything is. I hate rain this time of the year it is a damn nightmare! And congrats on ur harvest so far this year ky!

:tiphat:

Just got back into town and fixing to head out to check on my landrace gals as they have sit through about 6 days now in continuous rain with little breaks, along with continuous clouds, high humidity and cool temperatures. Thanks to this damn hurricane, really irritates me very much.

I'm hoping like hell that there will be at least not too much mold when I get there. I should have chopped before hand, but who knows, in the only good case scenario they will be okay and they sun shall come back out tomorrow and maybe they can keep going for a week to month.

Well guys, wish me luck. I had noticed KyG had to cut his delas down due to the rain and mold, I bit the bullet myself and let them ride it out. Should have made the same decision that he did.....

Will update soon!
