couple of questions for the OGBIOWAR users...

what in the foliar pack is actually doing the killing you guys are reporting? why are some saying they are brewing when the foliar pack states just mix with water?

i used foliar once a week as a normal regiment the entire time i had broads and it didnt do shit to help eradicate. i wasnt using it FOR broads as no one had thought it was effective at that point. avid is the only thing that knocked them out for me. im curious which fungus is thought to be the weapon against these fuckers.

NO matter what product u use, u need to use it an then use it within the bugs reproductive cycles. Complete coverage, no spray ...but dipss!!!! unless its systemic chem. Application rate will be faster or slower environment an chem dependit.

BiPhenthrine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in veg only!! knocks down ALL mites, aphids, fungus knats.

U got any mites??? Stop flowering... clean rooms, clean pots.. walls .. stakes... apply over few weeks within there reproductive cycle. Usually every 5 days. Really. no fucking arround , veg only!!!, apply biphenthrine at 7-15 mil per gallon, use a wick agent, dip the plants, every an every plant 5 days for 3-4 weeks. clean an spray rooms an equipment!!.
remove waste. remove an trim from the picture. AN Clean your Scissors!!!!
Get a microscope. Watch the eggs. watch them hatch an reapply!!! NO FLOWERING WHILE TREATING!!!!!!

you do only have to mix it with water, but if you brew teas it is just easy to mix it into it. I would like to point out that if you use 20 grams per gallon, and you are brewing 5 gallons of tea you could be wasting a bunch of money. I brew my teas, and then take out what I am going to foliar spray with(usually 1 gallon) and then mix 20 grams into that. If you do 1 gallon once per week it will last you somewhere in the range of 1 year per kilo.

I spoke with the owner before purchasing, and he was going to send me a sample for free to test it out on BM's. I told him no, and that I would purchase it on my own when I was ready. That's what I did. I paid just like everyone else does. :)

He told me he did not know if it would work, but at that point I was ready to try anything. He did send me this link
http://www.entomology.wisc.edu/mbcn/land607.html

Other than that I was a guinea pig.

Honestly not much is known about all of the biologicals in the States. I hope that more people bring these types of things to the market.

If you think about it it here is a fungus that will kill just about every single insect that farmers/gardeners battle with.

Amazing to me that after so long on the planet that we are just now really starting to see stuff like this.

I'm not 100% convinced Bifenthrin will be any more effective than Pyrethrins against Broads, isn't Bifenthrin chemically modified pyre with a slightly different MOA?

Im a long time member and a regular debugger of snake oil and I am having great success with this stuff so far. My clone room looks so much better this week than it did last week. Better than a week after avid or heat treatment I will tell you that much. Dont have a scope but I have been battling these bitches for 7 months or so now and I think I really might have them on the run at least. Strains I have moms of just cant be gotten again in my neck of the woods, so tearing down a starting over is not an option. Hitting my mom room when the next batch of brew is done. Will keep everyone posted, but I'm sold so far. Those of you who know me, know I'm old school. I don't know either one of the dudes above and really appreciate the help on this. I had never in my 10 years used poison on my herb plants until BM and I hope I never have to again.

That's good to hear and keep us posted. One question though. If you don't have a scope, how did you even know what you were dealing with?

Instead of coming into this thread saying, "Biological Controls are awesome, a blend of these species knocks the fuck outa bugs!" You went straight for a specific brand name without bringing up any other options, or suggesting ways to obtain the product direct from the manufacturing labs (no, he does not make this stuff, yes, he is repackaging / mixing ready to use products from a lab), and you can't see how this would make people think you're trying to sell something?

I've been wondering if you were an OGBiowar rep for pages.

So where do we get it direct?

this article just gave me an exciting idea.

this study conducted trials of various fungi and measured their mite killing properties in comparison to a KNOWN ACARICIDE. the agent against which they were tested is BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS beta-exotoxin. only one of the fungal agents was as effective as the control.

does B. thuringiensis ring a bell with any of you guys? i ask because it sure as shit does with me. B.t. is the active culture gnatrol. the stuff is organic, safe, and deadly effective against gnat larvae. it's also what they use in mosquito dunks, but those things have never done much more than leave a bunch of chunks of cork floating around in my water, dilute as they are.

now i'm no epidemiologist, and i'm not sure if the beta exotoxin is derived from the israelensis strain of B.thuringiensis that is used in gnatrol, but i do have a 50 lb. bucket of the stuff in my shop as we speak. i keep it on hand because gnats have been a huge problem for me, and it was the only thing i found that worked without damaging my plants or costing me a fortune. i respect the TOU and all that jazz, so i can't offer to meet anyone or send anyone anything, but if there were a way i'd willing to donate some gnatrol to someone who has a verifiable broad, russet, or cyclamen mite infestation and has the patience and discipline to conduct a legitimate side-by-side to see if it works as well as a foliar against mites as it does as a soil drench against gnats.

if you or someone you know happen to know me in 3D already and could do something like this, PM me please.

I will say that I started to spray the mulch in my pots a few weeks ago, and I now have no fungus gnats. I didn't expect that. A nice side benefit.

All the tale tell signs were there, plus I know where the little fuckers came from and I was warned about BM from that source before I ever brought the clones home.

Woot! Preferal Bioinsecticide, made by SePRO.

http://www.sepro.com/default.php?page=preferal

Features the strain listed by Dr. Rajan (Paecilomyces fumosoroseus) as being effective against Mites. Doesn't look like the product has reached retail level sales, but you can probably acquire it through American Clay Works or another similar supply end company.

Another company called Thermo Trilogy in Maryland is also supposedly making the stuff but I can't find a website for them, and contact info listed on the web conflicts.

I wonder if it is cheaper? Would be nice to have more than one source for products like this.

You should not be spraying with Forbid in flower. Do you want to smoke poison?

Sunset limited that is a very important observation. That is the same Bacillus thuringiensis israeliensis that is in mosquito dunks. Why even bother getting the other things if you can buy mosquito dunks many places?

They are only $10 for a 6 pack and as long as they are kept dry they will last forever. You can break off whatever portion you need to mix up whatever amount of spray you want.

This is a huge find for the cannabis community Sunset Limited.

I bought some at Ace Hardware. They have them at Lowes and Home Depot too.

What should I do then??

Well, for starters, you should have read the thread. Obviously you didn't, or you would know not to spray Forbid in flower. That may be be affecting the color of the hairs. If you sprayed Forbid 5 weeks into flower, You should not smoke them or sell them to anyone because you/they will be smoking poison. You should throw them out and start over. You don't need poison to kill broad mites. Heat treatments will do it, and so will OGBIOWAR. But even if you ordered that today, it's too late. By the time you get it they will be in 7th week of flower and the damage will be done. Never spray Forbid or Avid in flower, especially late flower. They are toxic and very unhealthy. You should toss those plants and start over, IMO.
