Breaking Bad

Yea, if that's all it is, it seems like a pretty shitty ending to the season to me.

i wouldnt say shitty...

spoiler: That episode flew by. A lot of weird fucked up shit happened. The Cleaner, The surgery sequence, jane's dad's reaction (exact OPPOSITE of how i imagined), that insane drug den/that insane rehab, walt's beard, skylar laying shit out like sherlock on walt, flight sequence meltdown, summing up the red animal.

it wasnt bad, its just weird. the writers of this show are insane, and i truly love their work.

Don't forget, indirectly, Walt is responsible for that crash. He could have saved Jane and the crash would never have happend. Hell, if he had just got the diapers and went home Jane would still be around and no crash either. Going to Jesse's that night was truely a bad decision. And the reason he went was because of a conversation he had with JANE'S FATHER! Pretty ironic huh?

See you next season boys, now go grow something.

Keith Richards and Jerry Garcia spring to mind when you ask that question.

Yes, I believe you're right. Any non-musician examples? You can't tell me Madoff wasn't on something...

This episode, well, I thought it was mind-blowing. A lot happened: I thought it'd be several more episodes before Walt had his surgery, but bang he's lying on a table getting the crap kicked out of him.

The plane crash - so two dead bodies landed in his driveway?

Walt enjoying the effects of opiates while being prepped for surgery ("This stuff is really... GREAT"). Walt seeing the disastrous effects of hard drug abuse while searching for Jesse.

Skyler, as Arctic Blast said, going all Sherlock on Walt's azz, calling him out on all his BS. And telling Walter that she doesn't want to know the truth because she's afraid to know. She's really a sharp woman. Too sharp for her own good.

I wonder what Gus (the Los Pollos Hermanos guy) is going to do now that he knows a. Walt's bro in law is a DEA supervisor and b. Walt has lung cancer. Maybe he recruits Walt to make some more meth for him, Walt can explain his riches by saying he bought into a Los Pollos franchise. :joint: Or maybe he offs Walt if he suspects a setup....

Well, I'll be tuning in for season 3.

The plane thing rubbed me the wrong way. The last few episodes had way, way, way too many "convenient crossing of paths" moments.

They hit us with alot of subliminal and metaphoric, cause and effect scenes. The mangled teddy bear represented the violent end the plane crash victims suffered. No teddy makes a splash like that one did. To me the whole plane crash shows the ripple we have on the world and how people we don't even know have enormous control over our lives. I love the cliff hanger with Walts buyer. I wonder how will they play it? Will the guy confront Walt with it and they both use it to their advantage?

Maybe I just don't understand how sophisticated this would actually be, but don't you think at least one plane would see that he was about to crash into the other plane, and do something about it? I feel like pilots wouldn't blindly follow the air traffic controller if they saw that they were being guided into another plane.

edit: Is it strange if the only reason I came to a forum centered around growing marijuana right now so I could see what you guys in the den thought about this episode?

i'm sure that its more complex than all that. i'm sure a flight controller plays a HUGE factor in organizing and landing planes at a big airport...if they fuck up and give the go-ahead for a landing when its not authorized or another plane is already beginning to land, something like that...a pilot would just trust the flight controller.

plus, how are you going to "do something about it" when you're going that fast in such an enormous vehicle at different altitudes, all the while being told "you're cleared for landing" or some shit...

Yeah, I was a little...out of it...last night when I watched this, I didn't realize they were landing or whatever I just thought they were flying normally. Plus I didn't really take into consideration how hard those planes must be to maneuver either. My bad. Rewatching the episode now, I apparently totally missed the part where gus went into the dea office and donated to walts charity fund they had there.
