Yup, pretty much saw this coming when I started seeing on TV that they were going after the nicotine vaping when I already knew for a couple weeks it was the underground THC market and the thickeners that came out later in 2018 like Honey Cut and Uber Thick. People in illegal states are less likely to report vaping an illegal substance, so the confusion will never get sorted out and its perfect ammo to push for an all out vape ban.
Your take on only the big players kind of makes sense too. Especially when they are only talking about flavored vapes.

One thing for sure is this is going to suck for any mom and pops trying to get into the pussy stick market. They're going to put so many regulations on cartridges it's going to be cheaper to buy hash. I like hash a lot more myself though, so not all bad and you can smoke hash out of a pen vape. But all the cool kids smoke cartridge's. I choose not to because I'm a flaming heterosexual.

ronbo51, I’m curious how sure you are about the safety of vaping the carriers like PG, VG, and others. I’m not aware of long term or even short term studies of it being safe.
Other oils are also being used apparently, mineral and vegetable have been identified in some of the lipoid pneumonia cases.
Stopping smoking is an admirable goal, but what if one problem is just being replaced with another?
I’m also not aware of any cannabis vaping lipoid pneumonia cases that were only canna concentrate. They all seem to be canna with a carrier of some sort.
If you are not even going to try to be informed why comment? The Rolling Stone article clearly states that the THC VAPE PENS are the ONLY culprit in this mess. Every case is thc related. Not one case is nicotine related. Not one. The article goes on to name the products involved, Uber Thick, clean cut and the rest. ALL have vitamin E oil in them as a preservative . The long running thread on this site accusing True Terpene of using mineral oil as a cutting agent should have raised more eyebrows. The stories about hyperemesis should have caught some attention. The fact is that perhaps all, maybe most, certainly a large chunk of the pre filled thc vape pen s are contaminated, but you fucks don't want to admit it. And that's fine. Be ignorant.
But to even bring up nicotine vaping in this crisis is wrong, unfair, obviously a fake news hit brought on us by Big Government, who NEVER acts in our favor. You can slovenly slurp on that big dick all day, and you obviously do, but some of us prefer a bit of freedom.

Rolling Stone had an article dated September 12, 2019 that referenced a study by New England Journal of Medicine, concerning six related cases at University Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Lead author Dr.Aberegg, U of U Health critical care pulmonologist states their findings are “consistent with the dominant theory” of vitamin E being the culprit.
FDA and C.D.C. say it’s too early to draw conclusions because not all samples contained vitamin E.
Dr. Aberegg says his team didn’t test for vitamin E.
The majority of subjects admitted to THC use, but others said they did not use THC, which significantly detracts from the theory of the problem coming solely from black market THC carts.
Again, the study is consistent with vitamin E being the culprit, but doesn’t definitively prove it.
No one substance has been found in all samples, including vitamin E.
In the September 19, 2019 Rolling Stone article one sampling found vitamin E in 10 out of 18 samples.

I know what you are saying but why is this only localised to the USA? If it was pg/vg related we would be seeing cases being reported internationally would we not?
As I stated we have all the health organisations in the UK still standing by vaping as a safe alternative. Oxford University still say its safer. If all these professionals are not telling us we have anything to be concerned about why are we going to listen to this crap?

Good questions that I don’t have the answers to. I honestly don’t know one way or the other if it’s safe.
Can’t help but be suspicious of inhaling a carrier just to get the drug effect. Cigarettes were supposed to be safe in the beginning too.
I actually find it odd people are so accepting of vaping carriers to get whatever effect, has a lab rat sound to it in my opinion.
I don’t think it is unreasonable to question the practice, based on its short history.
