I've been noticing some flies in my room... I thought they were just some fungus gnats... So I get on ic and start searching how to kill the little guys... and I find this thread:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=159960&highlight=fungus+gnats

It turns out I have root aphids. neat. I was warned about this actually, but I didn't really know what I was looking for. After reading through that thread, I now know that RA is what messed up my last grow, not pH. It's why my plants aren't growing any faster... I'm lucky I caught this when I did. I'll be applying Imid tomorrow.

I feel your pain bro, same happened to me during veg last run. Good thing is, now you know, the Imid will nuke them right away and it's easy on the plants.. Just make sure you really flood them when you hit them with it.... dead bugs everywhere!!

Looking good, can't wait to see them blow up soon...

Don't take it lightly either they're a serious P.I.T.A

Yeah man, honestly I think they're more of a problem than spider mites...

Hey brother... Lookin good!!!

The GK & the SDs1 didn't stretch that much... stayed squat & wide. That grow wasn't dialed in... they had more than a few issues, so I'm guessing your gals will look better than what I've seen in the past.

One dude got both of them to yield out at 1 per light, again, undialed... and horizontal, so...???

If you want a stretcher, I'll get you the cut of the ECSD that I have... now she stretches! Maybe for a heady run on the side...? ;-)

BTW... look to the new Bayer Complete... Imid + a contact killer... no foods & seems to hold the pH better vs the Tree & Shrub. Root drenches went well w/o stress. Peace bro

Thanks for reminding me about the growth structure of those clones... I smoke too much dope sometimes.. ha ha... I have csedge's ECSD back, so if it's the same then I'm good.

I ran out to Home Depot before I saw your post.. I picked up the Ortho MAX tree & shrub... 1.47% imid. No fertilizer. It should do the same thing, and get me back on track...

I just couldn't figure it out... I was pulling a few yellow fan leaves here and there with rust spots, so I attributed it to cal/mag... then I read that thread, and it was just like my story! There's still plenty of time for those roots to recover, and the pond enzymes I've been using are going to be huge in cleaning up the damage already done... Probably one of the reasons my plants have been doing as well as they are.

That was how I noticed it, dead flies all around my lamps... and I was like WTF, where did these come from? I remembered that I had them in my last grow, but I didn't think much of it...

After I did the root drench, it looked like a small lake had formed in my pod! ha ha... I had to pull out the shop vac and suck all that shit up. I'll sleep better tonight...

24 hours after applying Imid via Ortho MAX tree & shrub @ 6mL a gallon, and I have dead root aphids appearing, AND my plants are already responding! Everything has been dragging in growth. I've been having trouble getting my clones to root... Hopefully this is all gonna turn around now and my "yield-machine" is going to kick into high gear!

Thanks Mega, LL, and Nitelife.

DHF-
I've been thinking about why it is that you only ran 2 pods per a house. So far I've come up with 3 reasons: It's fucking hot down in Hell, you had to keep the grow concealed from contractors, and you didn't want to keep all of your eggs in one basket... Anything else?

I was just thinking with a large enough basement, you could easily fit 4 pods, 1 in each corner of the basement... and use a bedroom for vegging... Right now I'm so far behind with clones I won't be ready to fill up the other pod in 2 weeks... so I'll be preparing clones to refill the pod I'm currently using, and kick off the other pod after I get the current one reloaded.

I was just thinking about the winter... I could easily control 3600w in lights + equipment... For now all my extra clones will go outdoors, or the tester room.

other than the root aphids, things are going well... It finally got warm enough to use the water chiller, and it works! :) I'm so lucky that all the used equipment I bought is functional! I was really expecting to have more problems than I did buying used equipment.

I just wish I could make up for the life being sucked out of my plants by the root aphids... but you live and learn, and prevent it from ever happening again.

In veg, my plants get Forbid for spider mites, Eagle20 for PM, and now Ortho MAX for root aphids. Does anyone have anything other chems I should be feeding my plants? lol...

yeah dude prevention is key to not getting bit in the ass "shame my fan controller was the culprit" anyway yeah prevention... i use... canadian express - nillnat once a month for fungus gnats... canadian express - PMT once a week for Powder mildew... canadian express - spray safe once a month to keep shit clean and dead... plant vitality at least once every 2 weeks to keep spider mites dead... Hotbox supreme sulphur burner 6 hours lights out week 3,4,5,6 of flower to keep mites dead and powder mildew from rotting buds...

prevention is defiantly better than cure ive lost thousands over the years these products are now essentials....

Don`t keep all yer eggs in 1 basket...Rule # 1......but....The biggest determining factor on my 2 rooms per location was to accumulate enough income over the 1 yr period ta pay for said location once I was done with the remodeling and ready for the house to go on the market for sale or lease with option....

Powerbill had to be taken into consideration since the only 1 livin there was my bulldawgs on automated feeders/waterer`s , so with all the bells and whistles of 3600 watts and environmental control , powerbill hit well over 200 bucks a month here in Hell with 1800 watts 24/7/365 at 5 locations till I went to Heaths rack`s.....

Well over $1000 bucks a month for 18KW plus equipment and mortgage payments....but....pretty cheap for what`s ableta be accumulated once real estate`s acquired with said taxes and cash washing`s dealt with.....

It`s pretty cool what 1 person can do if the determination is there and yas work smarter not harder....Worked my ass off fer lotta yrs and it paid off....but.....smarter as a 1 man show for total security IME....too many variables involved with outside X factors .....at least where I grew...but yeah....

You could do 4 rooms no problem if yas were onsite....Handle it.....but.....and this is edited....why not do 4-5 houses per yr if yas can put it in the budget and bust ass ta make it happen....after all.....You a young man with nothing that can`t exceed yer grasp.....

Do 2 small rooms at each location if it`ll getchas 5 locations next yr.....I`m just sayin....Get ta work my buddy.....House`s is cheap round your parts right now.....Hell...if nuthin else , once yas got 15 or 20 go section 8 for low income housing and the gubment guarantee`s yer rent every month , then yas form a management company that oversees all said homes for tax purposes while growin yer ass off and addin more properties to said portfolio....

On a roll I am on da fundamentals of developing real estate holding`s fer my "twisted kid awareness program" and passive income for golden yrs.........

Can yas tell it`s rainin and I`m bored today ?.....Edited this post 4 times....

Good luck Bro....DHF....:ying:.....

Then I could do the same production with 4 compared to 5 of my old ebb and flow bucket setups that was killin my old ass , but I was greedy......

Thanks so much for your input... Do me a favor, and stay in touch should you ever decide to delete your account.

I totally agree with you on doing 2 rooms per a location and expanding my portfolio... I was just thinking for the immediate future, while I'm saving up some cash... I might as well max out the space I have. I want to be able to leave this rental and buy a property outright. So many nice houses to be had for $20-30k, in decent neighborhoods... My friend bought a house appraised at $80k 5 years ago, for $20k, put in $10k more... and now he's renting out rooms and paying pennies on the dollar, and building equity, compared to what he'd be paying if he didn't own the property.

It's too bad for him he doesn't have my level of ambition... ha ha....

The other question that's been running through my head is how did you trim it all? 6lbs every 2 weeks... Heath was pulling a room down every week before the wife and kids? WTF! A good trimming machine must have been used...

I've run the numbers in my head... and I know you made some money... $1k a month in bills is a drop in the bucket when you're pulling down a $24k crop every month or so...

I was lucky in that the strains I ran were more 50/50 hybrid sat/ind dominant with pronounced colas instead of golfballs on indica dominant bushes....

Never cycled out faster that 4.5-5 weeks Bro , and had raped and pillaged each plant along the way from immediately after stretch to allow for easy final trimmin before baggin , so 6 + lbs with the racks of 42 gram plants in couple days was babyshit ta get Bagworthy.......

Less is more....

Peace.....DHF....:ying:.....

good job bro. on the food and the grow
:thank you:

Just read from the start and I'm locked in. Can't wait to see what this setup does after 2 runs to dial in strains etc.:tiphat:
Welcome aboard. :) I promise to impress.

you built that other pod yet???... you lazy mofo... get to it...:pimp3:

:muahaha:

What's the point when I have nothing to put in there...

That's why I'm building a tester room first. :D

Just wait for lights on... 2 more hours... It's nothing like the pods, but hey, it's gonna get me high.

My lazy ass just got done cleaning up downstairs... I let it get a little too messy. I snapped some shots of the veg tent while I was down there. My Straw DD moms are right under the light. They just got raped yesterday... They don't have another clone to offer. I expect that I'll be able to take a couple hundred after they recover from this...

and I have some autoflowers in the tubs from Reddy1 to put outside... I'll let you know what happens with them bro.
