So both ends of the PVC bored out to 7/8" seems to do the trick, for both ends? The sensor and the cap, that is.. ?

Both ends bored out equally to 7/8". There is a lip on the green plastic part just below the threads. I pushed this piece into the PVC until the lip was level with the top of the PVC section. That created a very tight seal. You have to be careful not to push the top in too far though, otherwise the cap won't screw on all the way. Only push it in until the lip is level with the PVC.

the cone end definitely needs to be bored out. i got the cap end to work by beveling the inside edge of the pipe with a utility knife enough so the lip on the cap would not catch and just pushing it into the 3/4 PVC ........ either way you are going to need silicone so whatever works best for you is gonna work

on the subject of silicone .......






it's real hard to tell where the blumats actually seal. when you screw one together they seem to seat at three places at once. two are where the red marks in the first pic are and the third is on the sides of the raised piece with the three hoes in it inside the cap

i would be really careful about not getting silicone on those areas!

and i know i'm repeating myself, but we still really don't know if this is going to work. please don't go trashing any blumats yet! once you take a utility knife to one of these you are 100% committed

i just worry that there will be 200 innocent blumats slaughtered before we find some simple thing we didn't think about and it shoots everyone in the ass.

I started soaking my custom maxi last night so we can get feedback from 2 people on this mod... Like I said, I have 100... I would hate for someone to disect their patio kit and not have this work like it should.

If you can't keep track of your silicon, don't attempt this mod. Lol

I do like raw papers, very smooth without adding much to the flavor. My favorite of all is the clear aledinha papers from brazil, but I still smoke orange zags for the nostalgia.
