I think even ,consistent water delivery grows better plants.Six months on Blumats. They are probably the best thing added to my grow. I have never used C02, but I would like to see a challenge of Blumats in COCO V.S. C02 w/COCO. I have a feeling that blumats might be close or even. I have never seen such healthy and fast growing plants since using Blumats in COCO.
Thank you for this thread!
P.S. I have been out of town now for a few 1 week trips and each time coming back to ZERO issues.
*Great* idea - A top-dress 'sump' especially appropriate for us folks planning on using plain water only through Blumats in pre-mixed organic soil. I use a super soil style mix, and was concerned that with the 'inverted cone' water pattern you get with Blumats that I wouldn't be able to top dress anymore. Problem solved!
I'd like to second a question I heard earlier that didn't seem fully addressed: Does Blumats still work well with the occasional / regular (read: 1x weekly) hand watering for things like blackstrap molasses and compost tea?
I just spent the better part of my free time today reading through the entirety of this thread - Thanks to everyone who's contributed!
Talked to AFOM about putting circles of panda on his pots,(panda mulch,LOL)
This tends to keep the entire surface moist, allowing better , more even moisture distribution, and less hydrophobic tendencies than a dry, crusty surface.
He is reporting highly positive results.

Trying this now. That has been an issue for me so far. Not that it seems like it's hurting the plants any, but it just doesn't seem good to have a quarter to a half of an inch of bone dry coco on top.Talked to AFOM about putting circles of panda on his pots,(panda mulch,LOL)

Have you had any dealings with Blumats Drip feed distributers?
Hi, great thread here.
which sensors do you get? I know before people were getting the 'patio' sets. I found this set of 50 'outdoor' sensors
http://www.sustainablevillage.com/products/tropf-blumat-outdoor-sensor-case-50
Are these the ones to get? I need about 80 so any money I can save in buying bulk is good.
Where is the best/cheapest place to order this stuff?
Thanks for the help!
