Thanks for the heads-up Mampi. She was never on my want list, but good to know. I'm with Rez, I love Skunk, the old-school 80's Skunk that you kept in the trunk just to keep the odor to a "passable" status. Used to be everywhere and then nowhere. Kinda makes you go hmmm. I am willing to bet there are quite a few local "elite" strains that are simply a rare pheno of Sam's Skunk. Trainwreck comes to mind.

Q,
I'm aware that the U.K. Cheese Clone is a Skunk#1 selection, and having grown shitloads of Skunk over the last 19 years, myself,I'm always in the market for another phenotype to compare/contrast amongst the other Skunks.

Hola Amigo,

Suprised you have not done so already Rez. Spread it far as usefull Skunk breeding stocks for the community. Drop us a line somewhere and we will sort it out, you should take a look. Great combining abillity.

Im sure you would do great job with it, if you think her fit, having heard some good things about the SourD bx project from some old heads! Be nice to see a seed line representing the best of her qualities.

Bests, Q

^^ that picture started some serious interest into the cheese back on overgrow q, i remember it well. since then i have see many representations of the cheese cut on the boards but this one (borrowed from mr.gt's cheese thread found here- http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=42512&highlight=cheese+uk) is one the only one's that resemble q's picture.

i have to disagree totally. i had 2 phenos from one pack of blue cheese. one more blueberry and one more skunky which i would guess to be the cheese. the cheesey girl yielded about twice as much as my blueberry one. but to be honest, i plan on keeping moms of both.

do you have any pictures?

the cut has done exceptionally well outdoors in Nor Cal this past season..........a yielder as well.....finishing by halloween.....being able to express itself fully in the outdoors is how you get the most from the SK#1 genepool........................

How could the strain be that bad if it's parents are Cheese and Blueberry?

lol

that's the type of thinking shows through in many new crosses offered for sale as "strains" these days

(added later )

they are not "strains"..usually they are untested, unstable hybrid crosses derived from just two parents.

if you do happen cross to two strong potency strains, chances are you'll get a strong potency hybrid...providing both the male and female of the cross passes on desired genes to the seed..or not

..but without at least years of test growing, selecting and re-combining..it's just short cutting, pollen chucking and hoping based on what should be in the chase for the quick buck....

it only takes 5 weeks of vegging seedlings, 8 or 9 weeks of flowering & with a bit of pollen chucked in as well and at this stage already some seed makers are trying to think up a snazzy name for their new strain lol!..that's stage one ..now spend several years to select the best males and females from 50 + seedlings, cross them and select from there to get to your desired traits, repeat, repeat etc

as consumers, we should not accept untested or poorly tested crosses.....true breeding strains are worth the money, but hyped crosses are a crap shoot (9 times outta ten with poor and or limited selection, the original parents are just as good or better than the new whizz bang hyped up "strain") ...each breeder should test their "new strains" for several years before even considering calling it a name and offering it for sale.

Yes, cheese does do exceptionaly well outside, even up in canada.. But i have prefered the indoor samples so far, but the outside samples were far from perfect.

Cheese is one of the cuts that does look different from grow to grow, but you can always tell if it's the real deal despite the differences.. She also looks dif outside in BC than she does in cali... She's unique, and definately something special.
