I love the commitment of an indoor space to flowers & misc houseplants/hobby plants (that aren't reefer) w/ artificial lighting.

How big is that space? What kinda light? Does the room have a dedicated exhaust?

The room is about 10 X 12 and lit with a 1000hps and three shelves of 4 X 20 flourescents for the little ones and newlyborns. The houseplants are in there because of the Christmas decorating that goes on around here in December. She's gotten the jade plant to flower several times in there. The pic doesn't show it. but she's got a stadium kinda thing going on under the sweet spot of the lamp. From November to February she runs 4/20 for light and the plants love it. Then she starts upping the light to 12/12 gradually ending at 12/12 by May. Hey, I'm quite proud of my ability to grow weed, but for shear gardening talent, mrs smilley makes me look like a rank amateur. We've got the nicest planters in the neighborhood, some of her geranium mother plants are over 10 years old. She's also got quite a collection of other annuals that she likes to overwinter.

Don't kid yourself about the Borg and geraniums though, I've seen it all in mrs smilley's geranium room, whitefly, mites, gnats and aphids aplenty. She sprays all the plants weekly with soap and the occasional spraying of Dr Doom and of course the Vapona NoPest strips occasionally. Everything I've learned about bugs, I learned in the geranium room.

No, dedicated air exchange, but I can vent into the T-bar ceiling, and in winter here, and the room that size, temps aren't much of an issue.

Leaf curl can be too from much Nitrogen at that stage off growth. Lack of light can do it too. Sativa plants like the light and don't use much Nitrogen.
How long did you use the grow formula? Did you stop at the flip?
Clones love LK. Try it the next round you'll like it. Don't forget the dome...mitsu

How could I forget the dome, mitsu? ha, ha And yes I'm gonna try it (LK) for cloning next run. The "claw" is only occurring on 2 of the HSDs and only at the top (above the the lamp base height) so maybe it's a light issue as the lower foliage has no "claw". I switched to Bloom at the same time of flip so I didn't run the Grow at all in flower. The little bit of "claw" going on is minimal and as long as it doesn't spread it shouldn't be an issue. It's funny though, the tallest HSD isn't showing any "claw" and it's main cola is 8 inches above the 2 that are clawing. Maybe those 2 phenos are more sensitive to the nutes.

Last year I had a bear of a time with the Hawaiian Snow and the nutes. The HS was a very finicky plant and a really light feeder. Maybe some of those traits are coming out in some of the crossed phenos? Last year I never fed the HS more than 7ml/gal of Bloom and I had tip burn, some clawing and other issues. Right now, no issues at all with the Blockheads except for a few burnt spots on some large fan leafs from my clumsiness around the bulb.

Today's feeding day for the HSDs so I'll try giving the 2 "clawers" some LK only and see if the leafs straighten a bit.

LK won't help the claw effect. Bend the plants over so they are getting direct light. That should do it.

Hey mitsu, this ones for you. I pulled this plant a couple of inches closer to the lamp and some of the curl reversed. This is the worst one. Not too bad, eh? I don't have the balls to bend that top cola so it's gonna be a bit droopy. That's the smallest HSD and it didn't make the cut for the next crop. Gonna be some nice bud all the same......

Here's a top cola pic of each of the 4 Blockheads. One plant has a couple of fan leafs bleaching so I rotated 90 degrees but otherwise all healthy and happy.

Nice! The BH's look good. The HSD look cool too.

The more sativa looking BH's are the one I like the best. Not knocking the more Indy looking ones at all,they rock too. Your first pic looks more Indy. Your last one looks more sativa(my fav).The second one looks pretty sativa too. The third looks like a mix. You've got the bases covered. You should be real happy in a few weeks....mitsu

Here's everything in the veg room 29 days from cutting. The 4 in the foreground are dead now. Such a shame. But their sisters are doing well.

I went ahead and topped all 4 HSDs the day after transplant and I also topped the largest BH. I topped the HSD by design and the BH as an afterthought. I'm hoping it'll produce more clones for the final crop. I'm, gonna need 6 or 8 BHs for the final crop and I'm worried I won't get enough off this batch. I also potted up the last BH that I was going to discard and hope to use her as a mother plant for the final crop.

And now here's my dirty little secret. These are the 2 clones from the gel cups that I repotted a week ago. They sure look sickly, but if they root I'll find a spot for their clones in the final crop.

The clones are 5 - 6 weeks from going into flower so the big concern now is not to overgrow the veg room. I'll start lst on the HSDs as soon as the branches get big enough.

Today, it's all about the HSDs. I pulled a couple of plants out of the donut and removed all the undergrowth. I tied up any branches that were flapping in the up-current or too close to the lamp and also bent and tied any larger buds from the outside of the plants to the inside. I selectively removed some fan leafs from the front and sides of the HSDs. I think maintenance is done for this crop except for removal of yellowing leafs. About 6 weeks to go....

Here's the clones happily vegging under the 400mh. I put a new bulb in today and finally dropped the reflector for some serious vegging. lst has commenced on the topped plants. The others are just au natural.......

I take a lot of my cuts within the first few (no later'n 10) days of flowering, and when they root and start to get goin', they have that similar three-leafed/kind of mutated look for a while, ..

Though they do seem to result in much bushier plants, .. Which ain't bad.

Oh wait, wow. Why did I not ever realize, I think we're on the same day-count deal? I'm at day 45 today, anyway. Too stoned to bother looking to see when you posted your day 45 thing. But cool.



Oh yeah - those clones seem to've taken off quickly, no?

Good eye silver. Those clones were cut 10 days into flower, just long enough to sex them. When they get topped early too, they can look a bit mutant for a few leaf sets. The HSDs are a leggy strain so they'll take to the topping and training quite nicely. I've got to watch the headroom as they'll be going into 5 gal pails which are much taller than I'm used to with my low-ceiling veg room. Everything seems good though, and still 30 plus days of vegging to go. Full speed ahead...............
