I lot of 'criminals' are really mental patients belonging in hospitals long since closed. :shucks:

A matter of bad laws. Bad leadership.
What do you do with a mental patient, who is a threat to the public, when the only choice is confinement or the street?

This is a valid point. Mental health is a serious issue that has been forgotten. Look at who's in the white house. It doesn't get more mentally ill than that.

Closing the State mental hospitals seemed like a good (Liberal) idea at the time, rationalized by over-optimistic Social Scientists believing that their new medicines were a controlling factor and the unfounded belief that patients were best served by putting them back into communities where they would be monitored by social workers.

........ had something to do with the Civil Rights of patients being obstructed by confinement.

So how's that working out for the rest of us 'normals/almost normal'?

......... ah hahaha, so much for abstract ideas that 'seemed like a good idea at the time'!:bigeye:

LOL. That ain't just a liberal issue. All States dropped the ball on this issue. There are no mental hospitals in red states either. Mental Hospitals are run by State gov not the feds.

The thread is "Blatent Election Fraud"

The Waco president is holed up in his Florida golf club and inciting riots in Washington on Jan 6 because he has his followers convinced he won the election.

These people can not tell the difference between election fraud and presidential fraud. Good thing they can pay their rent and sink their teeth into a nice steak with that big $600 check on the way after being teased with the two grand spew. The rich will still be enjoying their winter vacations.

Now, complaining about liberals closing mental hospitals?

I firmly believe that the election was fraudulent, and also have eyes to see the vast evidence. I asked one of the most conservative people I know in town, who is going to DC to protest the senators and congress critters recognizing this stolen election. I didn't want to go all the way there by myself. Nobody. None.

Nobody is talking about doing anything about this. America is giving in. I think this guy's deal is he lost his job last spring and was unemployed 2 months while he was looking for anther $200K/yr job, which he found. He doesn't want to rock the boat and ask for time off. He has the wife, kids, mortgage. His answer is use your guns... huh? On who, the local tee vee people?

When oboma won, every black in the area who could went in the church busses and drove to DC for their party. They has a bunch of people and trashed the Washington mall.

So it seems that nothing is going to be done, and America is finished as she was. I have no children, am healthy, and have enough money saved. Good luck to the rest of you as we enter this new phase of America, where corruption is the official way of doing business.

Gonna be an interesting ride, and I may sit it out somewhere else that at least is officially corrupt, and they make no bones about it.

A big effort to close mental hospitals started when Joe Kennedy had his daughter Rose lobotomized without consulting any family members. Huge money for oversight and assistance of special needs people now comes from the Shriver foundation which employs doctors, nurses, social workers and special needs group home oversight.

Group homes are clearly the way to go over institutions.

Alternative history has been popular on the right for quite a long time now. I'm curious if Regan has lost his top spot among the rank and file. No longer the party of Regan, thats for sure.

Makes for some odd arguments that don't make sense.

Good gawd man, if you want to talk about contemporary crooked elections in America, start with the Kennedy election and mob manipulation then progress to voter disenfranchisement and suppression. The 2020 election does not even come close.

The idea to close mental hospitals and place folks back into the community started in the early 1970's and was promulgated by avante guard, Liberal social scientists/psychiatrists of the day, around the same time that the idea of 'Unisex' took hold, another generally believed BAD IDEA, in hindsight of course! ;)

...... I know this because I was there, read alla the books, knew some of the players (Dr. John Money), lived through it and remember it well!

Sorry the poor unfortunates that I've known living in those group homes would strongly disagree (1 friend committed suicide)!

......... and until 6 yrs. ago I lived in a complex that rented apts. out to a group home for profit company.

One of those apts. was right above mine and I witnessed first-hand the horriffic emotional abuse those poor inmates suffered until the group was finanlly shut down and given the boot!

LOL@Group Homes, another idea originating from liberal elite institutions that turned out to be (in hindsight) another BAD IDEA! :D

not really a liberal motif
problem is it was accepted by governments that were conservative, liberal ...
the other side gets all the blame and that is the problem
just encourages more extreme political views
and leaves us here, which is not a good place which you seem to have noticed
