The right is about freedom, the left is about taking away freedom in exchange for "safety". I'm not talking about the 1960's, I'm talking about 2021 and most Democrats are definitely authoritarian. Your favorite Congress woman AOC is talking about editing any news she doesn't like, it doesn't get more authoritarian than that.
Unless you are a minority, non christian, poor, pro choice, environmentalist, lbgt, drug user or many other things.

I would point out that law enforcement and religious institutions, both pretty well known for being authoritarian in nature, overwhelmingly back the Republicans. The dems don't have the same user base.
Also, no clue what that thing about aoc and the news is in reference to, but Trump did come up with fake news and alternative facts as his reaction to news he didn't like, so ya know, just saying, could be a bit of projection.

I am perfectly capable of expressing my opinions. I have never been on Twitter. Facebook is just an easy way to keep up with friends and family.
I believe they should have able to remove anything they want. I just don't believe they should have immunity if they want don't want to be a open platform, free of censorship, and editorial control.
Why should NYT be held liable for content, but not Facebook? They were immunized from law suits because they were a carrier of information, just like a telephone company. Would you support the phone company deciding who you could speak to? And about what?

Yes of course. I think one of the problems is the institutionalisation of ‘labels’ and the tendency of ‘bilateral’ thinking which we all suffer from part of our brain make up( myself included). We are ‘left or right’, ‘conservative or liberal’, ‘ progressive or traditionalist’ etc. My own views have bits in both camps so I couldnt even label myself. I think the elites want that its easier to rule..
