as well, whipped oil smells much stronger. not tastes, smells. this indicates a much more rapid evaporation of terpenes, unfortunately, as hard oil usually has very little odor.

after using concentrates on the heating pad i have residue from cleaning my volcano. it has been suggested i make hash of it.

only thing is, looks to me to be some type of "flaky debris" when i look into the 91% iso when im cleaning it

is this stuff salvagable material or burnt goods?

i know bho is like 20-80% potent with the good stuff... what is that remaining 80-20% other stuff? plant materials like chlorophyl?

other cannabinoids and compounds. it's a mass spectrometer. so it measures the percentage of each component of the sample. the rest would be made up of terpenes and other plant waxes and cannabinoids that most people aren't looking for a percentage of.

I wish I had taken better pictures of this oil, as it was vaped a week ago. I still have the strain, so I will run it again and try to give y'all a little bit better of a representation next time.

The strain is Enigma, a 90+ day sativa. Tastes of fresh lemons and pine. Yield was incredibly low (~10%), but I attribute that partially to the fact that it was run after a week drying and no cure, so there was definitely water weight that makes my percentage negligible. Doesn't really matter, as I did not have to buy it.

For those of you that don't get to try sativa based oils to much, definitely seek some out.

I had to blast some sour diesel even when my dish was full just so I could have a contrast to the extreme psychedelic raciness that the Enigma provided.
Whoa.

I made some budder twice today using the same materials and tools. Strain= Grape Ape. I used vector butane that has been in the freezer for at least a month. The extraction tube was frozen, the trim/buds were dried and then frozen (for about 4 months). While being extracted, it dripped onto a hotplate w/ hot water under the plate (in another pot/pan). After butane evaporated out I stirred until bubbles stop popping..
---Soooo,.... MY POINT- I did this twice today, once during the day (55degreesF) and once during the night (20degreesF) and I got TOTALLY different results, using the same methods. Could the results difference solely be because of the outside environment temp?
-The only other things that were different is I possibly started stirring the night batch before all the butane was evaporated out, and possibly stirred it longer than the first batch.. I dunno which factor contributed to my budder going amber..

oil on the left is the day round, oil on the right is the night round

I had noticed this before with my oil making. However, now I come out with a perfect oil every time, identical to the last. The trick for me was not to touch the oil until all the bubbles have popped. Never let the heat go above 200'F, and whip your oil once the bubbles have gone. Some strains require 30 strait min of whipping over heat, and some take 5 min. Either way, wip until all the goo is gone, and you are left with pure, sticky powdery, BHO. My batches have been just perfect as of late.

Your oil on the left looks more like my final product. The oil on the right needs more whipping. Either that or your oil on the right got to hot. If you are putting it over boiling water, that is too hot.

Some take 5min... some take 30min... I've even heard some never wax up.

When do you call it quits? 30min?
