getting totally ripped off this unit by turning it on its side, reversing the filter, packing lightly with 3-6cm of weed and turning the temp on high...clean full hits that kick yer ass!

dissing the Volcano is nonsense, it's still the best by far. More efficient than anything else for sure. Totally cooled vapor never burns your throat or dries it out. Take it from a serious medical patient.

Anyone telling you it's inefficient…you know that's total BS. Something that costs $600 will always bring out the haters. I have watched over the last 5-10 years as all my friends have started with other vapes and they all eventually migrate to Volcano, I must know 10 people that have one.

You have a point Mule about the price point $500 is steep for a lot of people these days but on warranty and CS backing alone(the techs in Oakland are the shit) i'd have to say volcano I love my unit. About the only con I can give is the cost of the EZ vape bags other than that....

yeah, those EZ vape bags suck. i'd never buy that version. with the standard version you are not dependend on a retailer that has those EZ's since turkey bags are available everywhere (and much cheaper). also, i like that the standard mouthpiece is heavy and adds some heft to your experience.

i used to think this until i got an E-nano vape. I sold my volcano because i dont use it anymore. The volcano is very inefficient it took half a gram to het me high. The e-nano takes less than 0.1, the volcano was great for its day but vapes have moved on now. With these newer vapes you can take it all in one or two hits

Hello all,

I started with a cheap china hot box and loved it.

Moved on to the EQ and love it more.

I can't understand why I waited soo long to convert to a vapor head.

The high is soaring or total couch lock depending on vape temps.

Again, I wished I had found vaping sooner.

PS. your stash goes further. that is to say, you get much more medicated vaping then smoking from the same amount.

Your mileage may vary.

I love my MFLB "Magic Flight" it has got me to strictly vape after 20 years of smoking.

Volcano really sucks and is old tech

its riding its own coattails from 15 years ago,

tbh its a piece of shit. It was cool, for a few years, but they have many many superior models, for much cheaper.

That is absolute bullshit and you've lost credibility making statements like that. I have to wonder what your motivation is? The volcano is still a fantastic vaporizer and is much better than any portable I've tried.

Don't take my word for it. There are plenty of online critiques of vapes that consistently rate the volcano highest. Here's one (vape critic) comparing 12 vapes including the solo. Volcano comes out on top.

Not only is the volcano a great vaporizer but it is built to last as many owners will testify.

So what's the latest vape market situation?

I'm looking for an affordable portable vape for herbs, not concentrates.
So far I'm most impressed with reviews of Goboof Alfa and Vapium Summit, the price range is acceptable, I really wouldn't go over 200€(buying in EU).
Of course if money was no issue I'd get the S&B Mighty or the Pax2, maybe sometime in the future when(if) there will be new cheaper versions.

Anyone got experience with the latest portable vapes to make a fair comparison?

In my experience (I only tried one once) the sphere vaporizers are not really suited to herb vaporizing. There is a big chance of either a bad burnt taste or no vaproizing. They might work for concentrates though.

If you really are into vaporizing, for portables I would rather wait longer put money aside and buy something that really works. If you just vaporize here and then go with something cheaper like the MFLB or so.

I have the arizer air. Fucking. AMAZING. If you dont mind feeling like yer drinking a thick milkshake this thing is the cats pajamas. Fat rips. You can use it while its plugged in. You can get several betterys. Super easy to clean. did i mention fat rips? I hit this thing threw my bong and its incredible. Gets me just as baked as a bong rip. And i also save vaped bud for edibles and the edibles are great!! 5 temp settings. Top 4 are good. First one would take you 10 years to vape a full bowlXD you cant go wrong with the arizer air fosho!!

Much love

I agree, the volcano is one great vaporizer. My favorite for sure. I do have to say I like the portable versions to. I got a crafty my self, only negative thing is the battery life.

i bought the super vapezilla 8 years ago, it was a highly rated vaporizer at the time and was very expenssive its a quality made vaporizer, you can set the temp you want to true vaporization to full combustion and everything in between, the heating element is made of quality glass and the bowl too but the thing i didn't like is the hose to put on the bowl, it was not easy to use and i must say the noise of the device is not fun to use, its not so noisy but still i cant smoke enjoy in peace my smoking session with the noise of a fan close to me and the hose in one hand, you have to be carefull to hold the hose right to not drop it and break the bowl (even if the bowl is made of sturdy glass, pyrex type i suppose)

I dont know how is the volcano but the bag looks more fun and easy to use than the hose of the supervapezilla, however im afraid the heating fan from the volcano is as noisy as the vapezilla.

i quit smoking tobacco long time ago but i would like to stop smoking with combustion too because its not so tasty and when i use my color changing glass pipe a couple of times, im afraid of the yellow/orange color i see on the pipe after using it. nobody can say smoking cannabis with combustion is healthy because its simply not the case even if we have the benefit of the cannabinoids and terpenoids.
