i'm looking to book a trip somewhere this winter. where's the best island loaded with good pot? i've been to jamaica and would like to go back and stay in other areas(stayed in montego bay). pot wasn't good in that area. found some better stuff in negril but for the most part it was all crappy. where's the good pot in jamaica?

so where should i go? jamaica? hawaii? costa rica? i remember some older high times magazines talking about costa rican buds and that you could find really great stuff on one side. that being the pacific ocean and caribbean. i forgot which side. hmmmm

Go to Cartagena Colombia, a beautiful city thats safe and has everything (and I mean everything) you could want for very reasonable prices.

The "Carib Hotel" pool

Cartagena is really a great vaction holiday party city thats not over run with tourist so the dollar goes a lot further here then other tropical destinations. Just 2 hrs from Miami and your in paradise.

Peace from Colombia

sometimes it happens???????? i dont live there, but from the accounts of survivors who have been kidnapped in that region while on vacation, it seems that if you are American, and they know it, you have something to be worried about.

No ones ever been kidnapped in Cartagena, its much safer there then say Mexico city or New York. I've been there 3 times and its always been a pleasure, Americans are welcome there as are all guest. Cartagena is a tourist town so they keep it very safe.

Go to Jamica just dont stay in Mo bay or Ocho. Stay on the west side of Negril . Smoke is much better there and cheap also. on 7 mle beach its a tourist trap, but go a little further west and its locals and hippes and they are more than happy to take care of you. If you go to 7 mile beach stop in front of Alberts and ask for Michael. He will take care of you , or next to Blue cave castle ( which I recommend) go to wood shack next to it and its run by a guy named Elvis. He will take very good care of you

ROFL Red, that sounds like a third world drug dealer's paradise.
With the 2 connects Nevermind gave you, Jamaica sure sounds more attractive to me...

Indeed, plus no kidnapping there. Worst a local will do to you is ask if you want to buy a wod carving. Jamiaca is more affordable than peopel think . You can get a 2 story penthouse at Blue cave castle ( reight next to Elvis with the herb) for $80 a night. Cant get a hotel in the US for that nevermind a penthouse

Nevermind, I saw you mention that place in a thread a while back, I looked it up and it looks awesome! I'd love to go there one day, that's definitely going to be my first real vacation, whenever that may be. The pictures of the place are great, I mean c'mon, how many people can say they stayed in a castle in Jamaica on their vacation?

Th pictures dont do it justice. If you get the penthouse you are in the tower of the castle and have the best and highest view in Negril. Its amazing for sunsets. You are right on the cliffs , you can dive off actually. Its around a 30 foot drop but water is 25 feet deep so its fine. Blue cave castle isnt advertised heavily, its a quiet place that isnt over run wiith tourists. Everyone there is like a big family. Every morning and evening they brew blue mountain coffee and everyone gets together in the common area overlooking the cliffs and drink coffee and smoke herb all morning. They are fine with herb there, they will get it for you if you dont have any. I ran out the morning i was leaving and the owner came up and gave me a few joints to kill time before i left. Its well worth the trip.

How many people can say they stayed in a castle? My girl and I can and will again soon.

I was just reading that Jamaica is the murder capitol of the world this year. I also remember Columbia has its kidnappings and murders too. Both are on my list of places to go regardless.
I spent several months traveling alone through southeast Asia. I spent lots of time in potentially dangerous countries like Cambodia (The most heavily land mined country in the world) Laos (The country with the most unexploded bombs in the world) I was in Southern Thailand in a town called Hat Yai when there were riots and 78 people were killed by police. I was also in Thailand during the tsunami (spent two weeks on an island that was devastated two weeks after I left).
I had a beautiful time, I visited the rain forest, I visited tropical paradise islands, met great people and I smoked to my hearts content.
So I guess my point is, everyone is right on. Third world countries are dangerous, yes, thats what I heard. Can you make it happen and and come home generally unscathed? Probably. I suppose that depends on your fate.
My second point is this. From my experience and from what I've heard, in all these places mentioned you will get to smoke while your there, and the smoke will be old world style landrace sativas. Sounds wonderful right? Just realize if your from America, Canada or Europe chances are you will get those first herbs and think to yourself. "This stuff is schwag" maybe high potency schwag but not what your used to at home.
So where can I sit in paradise, smoke the finest herb I've ever known in an island setting with low risk of death or kidnapping?-------------Wait for it--------------------
Hawaii.
More expensive than third world travel Hawaii has its own flaws, But bottom line is the cannabis I was getting there (been a few years now since I lived there) is some of the best anywhere, ever. It is in my top five easy for best over all pot I've known. Best sativa I've ever known by far. I would put my money on it every time with confidence if it ever made it to any of these cannabis competitions. My connection there was the only one I used and was always happy and never got tired of his goods. Maybe your experience will be different, shit there might be even better stuff out there for you.
Thats my 2 cents.

I go to Jamaica twice a year and never have been worried about muder of kidnapping. On the resorts there are guards posted 24/7 with a gate for vehicles to come in. so i doubt anything would happen. the murders are in kingston and its local gang violence. Kingston is 3 hours from negril so you are just fine in Negril. DC has alot of murders as well, but peopel still go to see the monuments and how many people have been murdered in DC lloking at the mall? Jamaica is safe.

I would say that Bagdad has more murders than jamaica, with 655,000 dead since we got there i think that they have Jamaica beat as the murder capital

I know a guy from my area that just spent 4 months in Colombia.

He said it was out of this world. He doesn't do drugs, he just was just there while spending 2 years on the road.

He doesn't speak spanish either. He was just a lone aussie on the road.

He said Cartagena was fantastic but I think he spent a bit of time further north from there just living the village life style.

Its definately on my list of places to visit.
