its a kelp and it cleans right off roots with light rinse is there another way to prevent algae? that you can recommend
We need a plant picture update man how are your girls
hmm chlorine is safe to use? i try and stay organic as possible with hydroI never experimented with a kelp extract in hydro. Before going to hydro, I was a 100% recycled organic soil guy and kelp was my main ingredient. I can attest to its success in soil but never tried anything with it in hydro.
As far as algae prevention, the main contributing factor is light penetration in your containers.
I follow a Sypes regiment (active grower on here) and use chlorine @ one drop per gallon every 7 days. It keeps the reservoir sterile and so far no algae for me.

Which is completely okay, no right or wrong answer here. All I am conveying is I prefer a completely sterile environment within my hydro solution. Anytime I have ever ventured off and tried adding beneficial organisms, I have had bad experiences resulting in root problems.
To each their own. Different strokes for different folks.
Chlorine is bad in a hydro concept trying to abide by organic principles. Absolutely.
now the world don't beat to the beat of JUST ONE DRUM!!! what might be right for you may not be right for some now a man is born a man of means some thing soemthign soemthign hahaa love that song not as good as three is company theme but its up there lol
and I think only reason I am having pretty nice success is I use root defense product like rock nutrient supercharge not only can u double its dose to get rid of root rot u can use at reg dose to also prevent root issues what do u feel about these products also ive been using rock nutrients haven't flowered yet but seems to be top notch stuff threw veg and the root protection
They just hit Americas market it feels like but have been around 18 years. Rock I got idea to use them cause of a cup winner super lemon og NOT hightimes cup some other. But was grown by ghost grower using ROCK. So checked out their YouTube channel and researched them they sounded really good, What sold me was the feeding chart was really Simple and descriptive. so I just started using as said only used in veg I am going to try the Resinator and Bloom in next couple weeks had to make a move with garden and letting them settle down before I switch to Flower. Before this tho I did use Root EXCel still use in both hydro and soil grows root excel is solid and I pretty much use housed and garden before this and even after this I will still use house and garden in soil. Possibly do nutrient challenge in near future H&G vs ROCK.ROCK from what I got from the guy I talked to is more for hydro and thrives in it I would recommend it so far.To be honest, I have never heard of those products until you just mentioned them. How long have you been using those products?
I really like that it is a single one part base. Your using them with DWC?
will do man they do sound nice what you using now ?Thanks man, ROCK really sparked my interest. I will follow your grow if you post up a link and will pick some up if it works well for you during flower. I would like to see some root pics if you dont mind. That supercharge sounds pretty cool.

any of these decent quality nutrient companies will grow excellent plants. I wouldn't waist much time trying one vs the other. Id invest my time in learning the nutrient I chose really well. Ionic is a good 1 part. I like gh. Just use the micro and bloom. But any will do. Really I haven't had to worry about nutrients in a long time. Once u understand the basics u take nutrient problems related to the actual nutrient out of the equation totally. Then if u have a prob its environment, ph, bugs, or watering frequency. That's it.
Forget lucas! Just go with Jack's! You can't beat the price vs quality. The ease of use blows everything else out of the water as well. I've ran Lucas, 3 part, Maxigrow/bloom... None come close to how easy to use and how great the quality is with Jack's.
Use RO water, get the ratio between the parts right, and forget adjusting or checking pH. Use the same volume of RO each time and forget checking concentration. It's really a beautiful thing.
I ran a single site recirculating Coco PPK last run and never did a reservoir change, never adjusted pH, and only added a couple plain water buckets to the reservoir here and there. This was the entire veg + bloom. ~16 weeks... Obviously RDWC and Coco PPK's are night and day, but when you look at how little thought I put into it using Jack's, that says something.
Buy the 25# bags of Jack's and CalNit. It's like $100. You won't regret it.
