Its been a little bit since I update because I been killing these damn thrips like a terrorist and in doing so I stunned/shocked/burned the shit out of girls.

They finally recovered and are putting on new growth. I pretty much have been waiting 2 weeks for something to happen. I wasnt sure if they were going to die or pull through.

Lot of new root growth down below and new chlorophylluscious growth up top. About time. I was starting to worry.

Since things are back on track, I pretty much have to start my veg clock back over. Im gonna go another 2 weeks, or once I hit 12" tall, then the flip.

My bad about the landscape pics, I forgot to spin them 90 degrees

If you want to eliminate your thrip problem you need to get some Pylon. I bought 2 bombs for $40 on ebay. I had the same problem where spinosad wasn't doing anything to my thrips, and then I got the pylon and I haven't spotted a single one. I'll be doing a second application of pylon today.

Good to see you're still kicking benny.

I use conserve sc , I think it has like 11% spinosad . If you are using the Monterey jacks stuff it is well diluted . Works great for thrips and puts a good dent into spider mites in my experience. peace.

dannng bobble, I just checked pylon out, and just the look of the can and label, you know its some serious stuff.

Do you use it during veg?

I want to bomb my joint one last time before I go into bloom. So far, what I did worked (I hope), but I feel like the thrips will return.

Thanks for the heads up.

Send me a link to your grow brotha man. I think I saw it once before when I was creeping around like a total perv this place. Them depoter buckets do the job. I am drawing up plans to insulate them. I gonna build basic 1/4" wooden boxes around the buckets leaving about a 2" gap all the way around to pack with R-13 insulation.

Already prepping for the summer months when the diy water chiller has to come back out....but I have some diligent plans to replace the water chiller with a DIY geothermal heat loop buried 4ft deep into my yard.

Im so weird about consuming tons of power. Well not weird, but just very conscious and always trying to conserve where and when I can.

I dont know all the details on the monterey but the stuff I bought isnt diluted, you have to dilute it.

Now that I killed off the thrips I been using the monterey again as a maintenance thing spraying every few days.

I am scared to death of those thrips coming back.

After my first bug bomb I noticed the thrips coming back on one plant on the bottom branches...I was like WTF, how is this possibe...literally with in a week of a Raid fumigator.

So at the point I pulled out all the stops..It was either I kill the thrips or I kill all my plants trying.

I sealed off the room.....its about 5'Wx10'Lx8'H and bombed it again. The first time around i bombed the entire basement which is probably 600sq ft, but the second time I just bombed the bloom room.

Then I went upstairs and made something crazy, I was drunk with rage, I was just throwing what ever I could find into a pot of boiling water. I think at one point I dumped in some diesel fuel....I dont know, I blacked out.

Whatever I mixed, it damn near killed my plants. For about 2 weeks they were idle, burnt, and not growing, but experience told me to maintain my patients and wait it out.

The roots were telling me to hang on, so I did. After the first week of waiting, I started seeing new white roots emerging from the bottom of the net pots. When I saw that, I knew the plants were regenerating.

They finally sprang back and are now growing and developing lots of new growth.

I think if they come back, im gonna have a mental break down. No forget that, Im gonna go all Vietnam style on'em and pulling out the flame thrower.

pylon has been cleared for use on edible crops, so you can fog during flower if needed. its seriously awesome at killing both mites and thrips.

The plants are looking good and the thrips have been at bay so far.

I did a reservoir change today and am preparing the girls for bloom.

7 tbls bloom / 7 tbls micro / 2 tsp of magical / 2 tbls open seasme

EC 1.0 / 500ppm @.5 conversation

pH'd to 5.5

I think I will trigger flower at the end of this week to keep things from over crowding. I went ahead and did a heavy foliage trim and topped all the plants.

Lights are at 18/6

3 applications of spinosad should clear thrips for good. I used to get them at my old house because they were on the plants outside.

It did when I first started using it, aside from the for good part.

Eventually they grew immune to it.

I like ur system Benny. Hows the watering system work? Looks like ur top feeding the first 2 in each row. Do the rest of the plants get top fed or are they just recirculating? Then what size pvc did u go with to connect the buckets? What size pump u using?

im doing dwc at moment and great results my roots are pure white im using super sharge and recommend it I also use algen extract which is highly concentraded and some kelp I guess or powder from algen extract end up stuck on roots is this bad should I wash roots down? thank you

Nothing is top fed, just a standard recirculating deep water culture setup connected with 2" pvc and circulated by a 951gpm pump.

I can't comment because I have never used micros in a hydro setup. Sounds much to risky.
