Being charged with rootballs and stalks

Every bust that I have heard about in the last ten years,on the boards, or otherwise, the cops seized all computers.

It is about the information that has been on your computer, like photo files.
Of course they're going to confiscate your computer, your phone and anything else pertinent.

It's not about the information on your computer...it's about what brought them to your door in the first place which is something else and what they find growing, hanging, in bags, concentrated, cash, etc. is way more important than the pics. IMO if they have enough to come get you any pics/puter info is just gravy.

It's very difficult to explain away a room full of plants or a few lbs of weed.

I have been to court. Recently in fact.

The Cops try to get as many charges as possible against a suspect. Many of the charges may even seem redundant. That is what the cops do.

Once the prosecutor gets it he has all those charges and goes to your attorney and makes a deal. I will knock off this and that if he pleads guilty to this. The more the cops give him the better chance he has of prosecuting you on at least one. The strength of his case is based on the amount of evidence. "Well, we didn't find any scales or money, but we found all these rootballs and pictures. We will throw out the intent to distribute if he pleads guilty of possession."

If it goes to court, if you call the prosecutor's bluff, it is basically a failure for him. They will certainly hang you for the maximum if you go that route. It is a lot like playing poker but you get to go to jail.

You most certainly could take the hard drive out of your computer in order to destroy it -- I recommend thermite (or thermate), a chemical mixture of Aluminum and (black) Iron Oxide (+ Sulfur). Just using a hammer won't securely destroy the data on the hard disk. Some people take the hard disk apart and use a belt sander on the platter surfaces.

........

Or a bucket with Battery acid next to your table and the laptop right in to it when necessary.

Easier to acquire and nothing to worry about after...since there won't be a hard drive left.
;)

PS: Just REALLY watch out, that stuff is REAL REAL BAD.

Cops are going to seize anything that is light, easy to sell and worth money. It is called forfeiture, if they think they have a chance in hell of claiming it, its gone.
Rent money in the safe, gone.
New car in the driveway, gone.
Guns, gone.
Grow equipement, gone.
Meds, gone.
Fur coat, gone.
Get the point?

And you will always be charged with as much as they can possibly through at you. It is part of the game of the justice system.
Murder becomes manslaughter.
Rape becomes unconsensual sex (or something like that).
Cultivation becomes possession.
Distribution becomes personal use.
Treason becomes pergury.

They dont offer deals because their case is weak they give you the chance in hopes they can move up the ladder. They really just want money, so you give up someone they keep your stufff and also acquire more. DEA monopoly, pretty simple. Weed cases are money, they know we arent hurting anyone, they need the cash to stay afloat. The lawyers even said my case was so smalll they were surprised it was going fed. Boils down to assets really.

The 10+ they were 'offering' is a joke. Seems they're just trying to get you to fold under 'pressure'. Sad thing is though I think they do get some people this way. A game of poker.

Peeps just gotta be patient, think before they speak and don't make any decisions until you have to...and a get the best attorney you can afford. I've seen some say just get a Public Pretender and work the case yourself but bad advice.

yea, the lawyer agrees,, 10+ is a long shot for what they say they have, but they havent handed down the indictment yet so we dont really know what they have. Still have yet to see the afvidavit for search warrant as well. So they may have some other charges they havent spoken about, or it could be all bluff....

Has anyone ever heard of the DEA allowing a CI to sell you herb, or other drugs and let you leave with them?

Ive heard of sales going down and they let you get away with the money but not the other way around...

well that sure is f'd up if they do that. i would have to assume that would be incredibly illegal.. even if their explanation is "building a case", what if something happens and the case is gone...? then they just sold a whole mess of drugs to someone to never be seen again haha? can't be allowed, just doesn't make sense....... unless they pinched you like a few mins/hrs later?

ya but im pretty sure they dont sell it and let it go for extended periods of time. but if you were busted soon after, like a few mins or maybe even hours then i guess it seems plausible

Almost sounds reasonable ...

Almost sounds reasonable ...

And you can do a decent job of wrecking a thumb drive by immersing it in a mild bleach solution. Unless it is cleaned thoroughly and dried quickly, it will corrode into a irretrievable mess inside.

Not quite as easy to bleach those platters in a disk drive. Still, chlorine bleach leaves salt behind as a residue. And salt and electronic components just don't get along.

Stay safe.

Almost sounds reasonable ... about using bleach on your hard disk, except that the platters themselves are assembled in a clean room, some even filled with dry nitrogen gas, and then hermetically sealed. The bleach might attack the external Printed Wiring Board, but not the platters -- and if they want to build their case against you, their techies can always get another PWB controller.

I suppose that you could open up your home computer, remove the hard disk, and then use the right tools to expose the platters (to bleach, which might take quite a while for corrosion to set in.) This is not something that you will find the time to do, not when LEO is breaking down your door. OTOH, pulling a USB thumb drive out of your computer and dropping it in a hot skillet on the stove would destroy that data; flushing a USB thumb drive down the toilet might destroy it; or dropping it into a crack in the wall or a hole in a hollow interior door might conceal your data for future retrieval.

Ok, great. I'll sleep like shit tonight.

You guys are really smart on IT and the like and i don't mean to derail but i have a few questions that i would really appreciate the experts here helping me out with.

And i ask with a huge PLEASE.

#1 If i had an old computer that no longer works (dropped water on it, hd is still in there) and it has pics from YEARS ago what should i do with that? I am thinking smash the shit out of it with a sledge hammer and deposit the pieces in dumpsters all over town. I dont need the machine but i don't want anyone recovering it either.

#2 My current machine. Filled with years worth of grow log pics, MS word notes, MS excel files for expenses. All sorts of shit. Is my only option to buy a new machine ans start clean and drop this thing at the bottom of the ocean? The problem is if they cumulatively added up the plants it would be ridiculous, but i have never grown over 50 - 60 at one time.

I guess the same goes for the multiple back up harddrives.

#3 How about digital cameras? Can they recover deleted files the SD mem card?

Thank you all. I wish i knew what all this coding talk was about :dunno:

Also i think one advantage is that they like to go after people with stuff they can profit from. I don't own shit. (rent, car payment, credit card debt) I guess this is the only time i am thankful for that.

probably being paranoid but do you guys think there are leo and feds on icmag posing tryin to get incriminating evidence
Anything is possible but wouldn't worry about it. Only way anybody would get anything is if you handed them some info. Be smart in posting pics and info revealed.
