Basement of My Dreams!!!

coming along nicely ..always fancied building me a recirc bucket system ...just cant get it into my thick skull on how to do it and how it really works??

thanks man

Loco81 hope you enjoyed the photos I'll be posting a new one later you'll enjoy I know I did!

John Goodman thanx for stopping in. I've done alot of playing with recirc bucket systems over the years and what I am running now can be built both inexpensively and easily but will also hold stable and be true provided you inspect daily ( had my first clogged drip line yesterday took 5 minutes to fix). If you are interested I can help walk you through when your ready!

Day 30

Ok so for the last couple days I have been busy with lots o crap and haven't had time to do more than peek in the garden:fsu:. On day 28 nute levels were good and PH was perfect but the ladies were looking droopy so with no improvement on day 29 I flushed the system and delivered a fresh and correct mix of nutes and man did they just explode over night! The purple ladies are getting 940 PPM and PH in the 5.85 range and loving every minute of it! I believe I have found female preflowers on BigRhonda and Leesuh. I have one good clear picture out of a bunch I took (no tripod) earlier.

BigRhonda 30 Days in Looks Female to Me!

If anyone can verify based on the formation I would appreciate it!

The White ladies also got flushed and new nutrients as well as a proper PH adjustment and as they are still smaller plants are getting around 500 PPM
and 5.9 PH. They were also happy to get a boost to the amount of Nitrogen available in the nutes (at least that's what I figure it was based on changes made to the system during the last ten days). No pre flowers with them yet though.

So now comes the hard question of when to make the flip to flower with the purple girls. They are 6-6 3/4 " tall 5-6 sets of internnodes developed on each of them. They are all growing fairly uniform in structure and size and have similar internodal spacing. No sweet purple plant is exhibiting lankier male development at this point. Some plants are definetly stinkier then others at this point as well.

I know this strain has the potential to reach 8' feet or more in height and girth at full maturity outdoors. We for this grow are attempting to grow to around 1/2 of maximum height and girth so around 5' bushes with a nice flat top of axial cola. We will be utilizing a technique known as super cropping to stunt vertical growth temporarily and allow the lower branches to rise to the top before continuing vertical growth.

I was thinking of starting the super cropping around 8" in height. If anyone has good experience with super cropping and trying to plan when to induce flower to achieve your desired final size please let me know. :yeahthats

Well all of the purple ladies have been super cropped and they look sad. After all the screaming was finished they dangled their little heads towards the light in the middle of the room. Grudgingly the Ladies understand that there will be alot more torture to come as I force them to fill in about a meter square area each before I'll let them flower.

My system is spaced 2 feet from the walls of the room to allow access all the way around the outside of the room during all phases of growth. This leaves a 6'x6' open area centered under the 1000w HPS. The ladies are SOGing a 36 square foot area with just 6 plants growing horizontal to fill it!

Super cropping has been demonstrated to increase yield 4x in dirt and up to 8-10 times in Hydro systems. It takes a much longer veg to do this but if plant numbers need to stay down then it's a great option. as this same effect would be achieved using around 120-150 clones in 3x3 trays otherwise:yeahthats.

So any way I'll get some pix of the tortured girls tommorrow after they recover a bit.:yoinks::smoweed::yoinks:

Day 34

Well the ladies seem to be doing pretty well over all. They are receiving torture treatments daily to promote bushing and horizontal growth now and man did that technique ever cause them to explode outward. The fan leaves have gotten huge and all the axial branches are fighting to be top cola and the purple ladies. There has been some spotting of lowest fan leaves developing as you will see in the pictures below. I think it has to do with me overdosing PH down and then instead of adding water like a good farmer I thought I should add a little PH up (HAHA wrong!!!!!) and my old ass PH up I think stayed separate from solution and made shit all out of whack. So both systems got flushed and new nutes today and no PH up (im a dumbass:wallbash:). I started with minimal PH correction and will adjust with 10ml doses once an hour untill we are back in the 5.8 range.

Other than a bone head move by me everything else is great. We have a few spiders who have decided to move into the grow and aside from the threat of random bites they make sure there are no pests around (WOOT).

The White Satin Girls are doing well and man are they stinky! The two largest of the satins have started the super cropping process but over all they are well behind the Purple ladies in development which is expected based on the difference in the amount of light the receive. Here are some photos enjoy!

The white satins first:

What up narutonut Ide like to see the show. Sounds pretty sweet. Just make sure you keep them ppms down in that rdwc.

OK I can see. I would still be running ppms around 600 total. Trust me they will grow even faster. Chill out on the super cropping let them grow a little I ve done it when there small and it slows growth but it work great when there a little more mature. Did you cut the tops, if not do that it bushes em out fast and then when some tops start getting to tall tie them down with twist ties or something for about 2 days youll see all the other ones catch up right away and theres less stress on em. just keep on doing that until they get bigger. Looking good tho there gonna blow up in that rdwc just dont shit yourself. Once you get everything dialed in they explode. Try clones next run if you can they would already be ready to flip.
Keep the PPMs down mine are 25 days 12/12 and the ppms are at 800 and they love it see.

Day 99

Day 99

Well I need to apologize for being away from IC for the last 60 days. I have had a world of computer issues and a lot going on in the day to day grind.

The good news is that the girls are doing amazing. I ended up adding to the nute regime we started out with. I am running GH 3 part, KoolBloom, Sweet, Liquid Karma and the usual PH adjustments. PPM runs about 980 at start of refill and seems to be the max the girls want in my bucket system.

All in all I am very happy with the room's performance. Temps stay perfect and humidity hits 60% after a misting and stays between 40-50% when no misting is done.

As soon as this harvest comes down I think I'll be adding 3x 1000w HPS to the flowering room and 1x 1000w MH to the veg room to boost the growth phase development. I will also be adding 6 more buckets to the flowering room (the setup from the veg room) and building an ebb&flow for the veg work.

Cloning has been the bane of my existence lately but I think I finally have got it worked out finally.

I need to get some photos taken and will be back later with more update.

Day 100

Day 100

All right here are update photos as promised! The sweet purple is now 1/2 way through flowering. We had 2/6 that went male in the end so that means we have 4 keepers. We have found 2 distinct Phenotypes one that is purpling and has the aroma of roses, the other is all green with the scent of pineapple. Resin production is comparable for both phenos. The biggest girl in the room is Leesuh and she takes almost 60 cubic feet (4'x4'x4') she is also the prettiest by far. I am still trying to get a clone of her to take but after 4 attempts I am a bit discouraged. If anyone has tips on cloning while in flower let me know as I want her as a mom for sure. I am trying to avoid reveging if possible but if that is the only way I'll give it a shot after harvest.

So now time for Pics:woohoo:

Ok so to answer the super cropping question it really is worth it please do it it is amazing what it does to plants. Take Big Green's advice and wait till they are a bit bigger to start once I get it dialed I'm sure we will be able to get a nice flat uniform top with practice with this technique. As for all of you that have contributed and and advised me on this grow thank you and I am still looking for input and ideas for the next run.
