Healthy looking plants grower sat.

Did you make more seeds from BH?

Yield was good for UK weather?

sorry, I didn't see this question or I would have answered much sooner..

yes, the yields were great for a Congo hybrid or for plant with such a high %age of sativa. Indica and dutch hybrids can yields much more, I suppose but you are risking moulds and bad quality if the weather is no good, whereas Bangi Haze is near guaranteed whatever the weather and has a great high that you won't find in the more big yielding dutch or US strains... I was very happy with my yield in the end. I have not weighed it so I can't quite let you know what to expect per plant yet.

I made seeds with 1 male that I found and really really liked. If he wasn't so good I would have planted another batch of seeds to search longer but I was lucky! I crossed him to Mangobiche, Zamaldelica and Double Thai but not to his sisters as I have plenty of Bangi seeds left - Luis even sent me an extra pack to help find that male for the Zamaldelica cross but in the end I didn't need it (I'm not sending it back, though duster! ;) ) so I have plenty. Also, Bangi is already very inbred - so I prefer to make the outcrosses. I also have a couple of dozen Bangi Ethiopian F1s, which I have heard very very good things about so will try those next year anyway - I WILL be making f2s of those Bangi/Ethiopian seeds, however..

Hi Legalcdn,

It works great in both ways, with little vegetative growth time grows mainly columnar, but it also branches very well when pruned.

I topped my 2 BH below the 5th node to encourage branching. Is it recommended to top or let it grow natural?

Thanks for the feedback friend ;)

Glad your found your Bangi Haze plants consistently uniform for most traits. There are still variations in the terpene profiles since 2 mothers with different terpene profiles are used to produce both the regular and fem versions of the strain, but the line is pretty consistent for growth, shape, finishing times, resistance, effects, etc .... guess it is still early, but i'm very curious to know your opinion about their smoke after curing process.

Here are my Bangi Hazes from this years grow.
I had 5 females. All of them grew very very similar indeed. The only real differences were the aromas, which were: Candy sweet, sweet funky, Onions, Sweet garlic and sweet & floral. All on a tip, though - versions of the same. The aromas were good and pungent, with perhaps the garlicy one being the lightest smelling until the last few days when she started to stink more.

I did have clones to keep my favourite but what is the point? They are all so similar I may as well just go with seeds again next time I want to grow them. This saves me having to maintain a clone on the mother room for just 1 round of cuttings per year - much easier. Also, it is nice to have different flavours instead of having to smoke the same one all year around.

The plants grew very easily in rich organic soil and with just low level organic feed with each water - to keep the soil organisms healthy and as a tonic for the plants. I know these plants are so inbred that they have a very specific feeding requirement now but it seemed to work for me.

Usually plants of this size would be in 100 litres of compost but i had to lift these into the dark room each night to force flower them early and so I used smaller, lighter pots. That meant that sometimes I had to water twice if it was very hot that day.
I stopped the light deprivation about a week before they would have started to flower normally as the light was not quite short enough to start them but no way long enough to make them re-veg once started. This means I started I got a week free, essentially (if you know what I mean...)

Anyone out there remember Dubi's original Bangi Haze from 10-12 years ago? What was the F1 cross? I was telling a friend about when I grew one in 2010, it smelled like asphalt/garlic/funk and that was just a stem rub. Strangest stuff I ever smelled and about as speedy as any weed I had smoked. Do the ones nowadays smell like that?

Well its been many years since ive posted on icmag, but im back and have a new project started. Ive currently got Bangi Haze seedlings on the go which will eventually become mother plants for my grow tent. Once I make selections for (a) mother(s) I will be moving onto germinating and making selections from Ace Seeds Panama and then ErdPurt. From there I will most likely grow more Ace Cultivars so stay tuned!

For now here are a couple pics of my seedlings and tent. Its a 4x4 tent with a 40 inch by 40 inch by 18 inch deep Grass Roots living soil raised bed, with a two foot tall trellis frame. It is filled with an all organic living soil, its a Kis Organics mix (not directly from them) and eventually will be getting a Blumat drip irrigation system. Im using a Gavita 1650e (bought before the 1700e was released) to supply light energy to my flowering tent, its a replacement for a 1000 watt HID bulb, I also have a controller for dimming and emergency shut off if temperatures rise too high. Im currently using AgroLED T5 bulb replacements in a T5 fixture for moms/veg. Night time temperatures dip down to 23C while day temperatures are usually between 26-30C, I dont have AC (yet, though we are coming into winter here in BC) so outside temperature effects the lung room temperature the tent resides in, I have a heater though so temps never dip below 22. I keep r/h at 60% currently, but will drop it to 55% as a happy medium, since my moms/veg plants currently live in the lung room on a shelf, until I get a couple 2x4 tents for moms and veg/clones. Once that happens r/h of the lung room will be kept at 50% and the individual 2x4 tents r/h will be raised with small humidifiers in each tent.

Chopped my first Bangi Haze last night. It was put out as a teen at the very end of June, and finished at about five feet high, with a nice big cola and a good number of big side branches. Not a single spot of mold, and only a few small spots from caterpillar damage. The trichomes are almost 100% cloudy, with a few amber here and there. Haven't found any seeds yet while pulling fan leaves, and it looks like it will fill a few big jars. :)

It was started in coco, fed with Dyna Gro, then put into rich native soil without any further fertilizers at about a foot tall. IPM consisted of clearing weeds from around the site and one application of Monterey Garden Spray back in August. The bugs just didn't seem interested. Pretty much just set it and forget it, and can't wait to dry it and try it.

Bangi haze starting week 2 flower..
Jacks 3-2-1, coco dtw, bridgelux led strips 220w, portable scrog net. Waited too long to flip and had to supercrop. Big feeder compared to my malawi off to right.

Thanks dubi. It is a pleasure growing your creation. Bangi is really resilient. High temps, no problem.. humidity 60-75%, no problem. Malawi is going to be a great christmas gift to myself.

Cheers, stay safe.

Plants are coming along nicely, have 3 guranteed females, 1 male and 3 havent shown any pre-flowers yet so havent been sexed. Did have a minor micro-nutrient deficiency a couple weeks ago but was fixed and all new growth is looking good.

One of the plants in the back has narrower leaflets than the other 6. I plan on selecting one or two of these to up pot and turn into mother plants eventually, after I flower out some clones in my tent and figure out which pheno(s) I plan on keeping. The shelf there are on now is just the shelf I will be keeping my mother plants and clones/pre-veg on.

Should be some nice smoke hopefully. After selections are done with these Bangi Haze, next on the list is Panama followed by Erdpurt.

It took me awhile to confirm the males. It's good to keep all females and see if there is a keeper there.

I just dusted a couple bud sites 4 weeks into flower for bangi x bangi and malawi x bangi. I guess the malawi seeds will be bang-lawi. Just have to date someone called Lawi :smoke:

Anyways, your plants look good. Welcome back.

Hi all,

I've been reading about these sativas for a while before pulling the trigger. My tents are 5 feet which is why I hesitated. I popped 2 bangi haze's last month but I left them inside solo cups for too long and just recently been transplanted. Another mistake I made was forgetting to use plain water for the first two weeks like I always do due to the soil coming with added nutrients, so they suffered from nute burn. But now they're in their 5 gallon homes and look like they're about to bounce back.

My main worry is the yield. In each 2x4 foot tent (60 cm x 120 cm), I run 240w quantum board. With the hybrids I normally grow I can get up to 1.2 grams per watt. I veg for at least 45 days and I top a lot and also lots of LST (skill learned from my autoflower growing days) to keep them within my tent height. Im going to let these girls veg for another month or so in the 5 gallon pots in one of the 2x4, then put them to 11/13. Question is what sort of yield can I expect? I've never grown a sativa. These are fems btw.

Thanks you. I'm so excited to have found Ace, I got GT, Killer A5 haze, Panama seeds in water cups and reading the smoke reports make me want to cry since all my tents are occupied at the moment.
