Bangi Haze

P

I thought I would post pictures of a Bangi Haze male for reference here. This fella is from a seed batch purchased in early '08 from Seedbay, so an F4 possibly?

There are some very nice aromas from this one which is why he has been selected as a pollen donor for a couple of early flowering females. He has endured poor growing conditions; low temperatures, root restriction and general neglect...the vigour has been great however! Good response to early topping and a single (med-low) liquid feed. A bit on the late side for 51degrees northern europe but an excellent sativa performer...will be trying more Bangi Haze seeds next year for sure and my crosses if they work out.

My warmest regards to the breeder and the ACE crew for this excellent seed line.

Thanks for your kind of words pangolin,

Im glad to hear bangi haze has been working fine in your climate, she's along with nepalese jam our best sativa for cold northern climates. Try to cross the bangi haze male with a very fast flowering strain stabilized to your zone long time ago, i think you could fine very interesting things. Good luck!

i'm so f---ing excited. i just moved up to Washington state and i've been wondering/worrying about how in the hell i'd pull off an outdoor sativa grow up here... then i found this thread. Yay!
Please tell me these seeds are still available.
And thank you Ace Seeds for focusing on landraces, not nearly enough breeders bother to save and develop some of what is truly the best bud on the planet because it "takes too long" or "isn't dense enough"... Thank you.

Well...I'm in. Unable to resist the lure of another Ace grow, I just put four BangiHaze seeds into media. We shall see what we shall see...keeping my fingers crossed and very excited.

Four out of four germed! Due to limited space I will be forced to only grow one or two plants but I've been waiting to grow these for quite some time.

dubi - in a 2008 thread you said bangi haze was approximately 9.5 -11 weeks indoors. In a 2009 threadm you said it was like 8 to 9 weeks. I realize that grow times are entirely relative but I was wondering whether the make up of the strain actually changed. (I also have a general question...Does cannabis take longer to finish indoors or outdoors?) Thanks so much for your wonderful genetics. I love Ace! Total fan boy!

Hello mayan,

9-10 weeks is the average flowering time for Bangi Haze.

Indoors flowering time is more uniform, outdoors would depend on the autumn conditions, colder outdoor conditions would accelerate the flowering. Thanks for your kind of words! :)

Gotcha...thanks, dubi. Really looking forward to growing Bangi Haze out. Four out of four sprouted...one was an out and out runt/mutant so I gave it a mercy chop. Hopefully, out of the remaining three there will be at least one female. Stay tuned, I think I'm gonna flip 'em to 12/12 on Thursday or soon thereafter.

Im very interested in the Bangi Haze because of the description of it's incense like aroma(where it got its name?).
Do all of the pheno's represent a strong incences aroma, in particular am looking for a haze with strong Frankincense aroma.

High mayan,

I wont veg the bangis for a short time, give them at least 3-4 weeks of growing to let them express and yield correctly. Hope you find a nice female!

Hello CannaCompulsory,

Bangi Haze aroma has wood, liquor and incense traits, the incense is not uniform in all the plants, if you are looking for classic hazy incense aroams, i'd recommend you our new purple haze x thai, green haze x thai hybrids or even panama and orient express fem version. Hope it helps. dubi

Hi Dubi, I got some Bangi Haze and am very excited to try them outside this year. I saw on another web site that the lineage was Congo X (Nepalese x SSH)...is this the true lineage or is it Congo x Nep? Make s no differnece to me, just curious. thanks for putting out interesting seeds, looking foward to trying some ACE stuff. Thanks

Welcome highsteppa,

Bangi Haze had some dutch influence in the first breeding steps but now it's an mostly Congo x nepalese F6 inbred line. Hope it helps.

Dubi,

I purchased the Bangi Haze a couple of years ago and believe it is the F4. Would the SSH still be present in that line? I'm waiting on a pack of the OTH and plan to cross these with the Bangi in order to produce a very hazey leaning but quicker finishing hybrid. With some selective breeding, do you think I can get this Haze representation in a 14-15 week plant? What would your opinion of this cross be?

Many thanks,

Bangi Haze

Hey all...here's some pics I took today of my Bangi Haze plant at about 19 days under 12/12. Growing her under a 400 watt HPS in a 21/2 gallon Hempy bucket using PureBlendPro and Liquid Karma.

I haven't grown her out before so I don't know if this is a typical pheno. I also LST'd her early on because I'm growing her with three other strains and I wasn't sure how the canopy would end up. She seems to be a very sativa dom expression...gangly branches, thin leaves and bud sites EVERYWHERE at this point. As it is, I'm glad I LST'd her or she would be towering over everything. It looks like the stretch may be slowing down (hopefully) as she approaches the end of the third week.

Here's one of the developing bud tips that should give you a better sense of her structure...Sorry it's a bit dark but you get the point.

Looks like another winner from Ace. I'm psyched! And hey...only 50 more days (or whatever) of buddage to go!!!!
