I like all the suggestions to do yoga and walk it off.
That's like telling someone who has no wheel and tire on their car to change their oil and and add some coolant.
Thanks tips.
When I go for a walk and collapse at the end of the street I will call you all to come pick me up.

No, it's like telling someone that stretching your hamstrings to keep them supple will prevent sciatica from happening or it's like telling someone to stop slouching, get up and go for a walk while deep breathing and raising your arms (while maintaining firm legs, buttocks and mid-section) is the beginning of the end of lower back pain..or it's like telling someone that with 20 or 30 minutes of yoga each day you will begin to help your body get better and become pain free......but if that's too hard, just keep popping your Oxycontin, tell yourself that you cannot do anything to help yourself and blur off into the sunset.

When I go for a walk and collapse at the end of the street I will call you all to come pick me up.

I was where you were 8 years ago, broken and in pain...and I was skeptical that yoga would help.

I am sorry. I just don't see how stretching is gonna solve something that needs surgery to fix.
Irritate it. Yea. Help. Not so much.
For some people it may help but I don't see it helping me.
I appreciate you trying to help.
I have a bone spur sticking out on the inside of my spinal canal that scrapes against the nerves. 2.5mm big
Would downward dog fix this?

One hip replacement down and one to go. Last Monday the cutter worked his magic(sarcasm) A week in hosp. and now it's PT time.
Sure do hope all this pain is worth it in the end.

After the "cutters" got done with me I could bare weight on my left leg. That helped with walking. Not perfect by know means but much better. I hurt still but with 40mg or less of hydrocod/apap 10-325(liver) along with herbal med and PT, which I love, I get along.

If that 325 means acetaminophen/Tylenol I stay away from that poison. I was on 10 mg straight oxycodone 3x/day. That's the most abused pharmaceutical in the US, but when the docs saw me they didn't think twice about prescribing it. I had 1 foot in their office and the other in the emergency room.

Stretching only added months to my rehab time. Massaging didn't help one iota either (well a pt's heat massage did), just LEFT IT ALONE, no choice. The only other thing I gave it was 2 x-rays and 2-MRIs (not much seen either) and a good diet. Sometimes you have to treat injuries like broken bones and I learned the HARD way, and I do mean HARD!

I have gotten to the point where I can lift my leg and move it side to side(while laying on my back) It ain't easy but I'll keep doing it till it does get easier. I agree it all about the PT,meds & herbal meds to get as good as I can.

In my condition, in my state, I could walk into any "pain" center and get any and all the opiates I want. All I have to do is piss in a cup. I'll stick to my cannabis so I can not do meds when I don't need to. I don't like taking a pill NOT to get sick. Y'll know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean I use the VA as well as my Medicare. I stop grooving twice a year for 8 to 10 weeks before my VA blood & urine workups. Yes it's a real PIA but I do what I have to to get by. My biggest hope is when I'm done with all the hip & knee replacements is I won't need pain management. I can hope.....

I know exactly what you mean Hank, I'm narcotic sensitive and so I have to take Compazine (an anti nausea drug) to take my prescribed opiates in hopes of not puking, more often then not I hurl anyway. lucky me.

double spinal fusion and laminectomy here, followed by further damage to the vertebrae above the fusion. . i too can have had an abundance of opiates, have been down that road its not pretty.
sad to say my govt prefers us on opiates rather than thc.

Yea I'm afraid of surgery. Although I feel like shit and should probably try it.
My backs fucked.
Got a hurnya the other day.
Been sick for a month.
Sprained my wrist. (My fault)
Then to top it off. I electrocuted myself. Twice today.
I still feel awesome.

back surgery has evolved a long way since i had my fusions done. i waited 7 years from my acccident and only went ahead with it cos my right leg would give way on me all the time.
