Ciao frio,

Nice pic m8 - are you flushing her now? as she seems like she doesn't need or want anymore nutrients, as the pistils are turning, the leaves are still dark green and they have tip burn, indicating overfeeding. I recommend picking the pots up and letting bottled water runs through them and catch the run off in a tray. This will get the excess nutes out of the soil, then water with bottled water (i.e. CF0) only when the soil gets very dry, as too much water at the end makes the buds lose density and makes them more airy. You're only using 400W so there won't be masses of density already and you don't want to lose anymore density. The bottom line is: the buds may still look nice if you over water but when they dry you end up with airy, weightless weed.

If you've got the oscillating fan in place, you need it on medium power now to avoid mold. You can get the buds quite close together, like centimetres apart, if you have the right ventilation and air movement in there.

Also, I would use some string to tie them up and get the buds as physically close to the bulb as possible without burning the heads. A fan blowing air directly between the bulb and bud tops will stop burning through heat. A distance of 10-20cm is acceptable for a 400 Watter; you also need to watch out for light intensity bleaching, which is strain dependant, but generally the more sativa the strain, the more light intensity you can throw at them. With too much light intensity the buds will go white, albino if you like, lol, so you need to get them as close as you can without burning or bleaching the tops. I think with your plants having a reasonable amount of sativa in them, relatively speaking, compared to an all indica 45 day type plant, you could easily get the bulb 10cm from the tops with a small box fan like used for computer ventilation, or more hardcore larger version.

Also, regarding pics, you've obviously got a talent for taking pics, so if you're up for it, some room shots at bud height level, one showing the lower branches, and an overhead view would be cool.

Peace

Ciao

hey british bulldog!! thank you for your precious tips.

the plants are now in the middle of the seventh week and my idea was to flush them for a full three more weeks, starting with the next watering. i was kind of worried that 3 weeks (these strains are supposed to be 10 weekers) are too much flush time as they could probably use some more feeding, but now that you too are telling me to flush i'm absolutely going for it as soon as the next watering! as for the string thing, i have already done it! it actually only lasted for a day or two because two days ago i went to the grow and found the string had broken, and i didn't have a spare one at the moment.

so next time i go to my grow site i'm going to flush and re-tie, just like you told me! the ventilation is even excessive so i think they're going to love the crazy lumens without suffering too much from the heat! the windows are always open during daytime and the outside temperatures are helping a lot with the heat too..

as for the overwatering thing don't worry, i'm always afraid to water them too soon so i sometimes end up UNDERwatering them! i usually water them every three to five days (it depends on the plant of course), weighing the pots just like somebody tought me

anyway please keep on giving me advices if you see anything wrong in my pictures, the health of my plants always comes before anything else!!

Ok cool, prego for the tips. Normally plants in soil need a week's flushing, although as yours are slightly overfed by the looks of things, they can easily take flushing now, and what you want in the end is yellow leaves as all the nutrients have been used up, with clean tasting and fat buds :)

btw: there are obviously various degrees of underwatering, and I'd say from your pics you're watering correctly...just wait until the pots are light and the soil is dry, but not completely bone dry, as this will stunt bud development.

However, it is a hardy plant and used to harsh conditions in the wild, and lack of water, but a drought is a different matter...and I don't think yours are suffering drought symptoms at all.

The first signs of a drought are leaves dropping a lot, but they soon perk up with a watering, but you don't want to let this happen too much.

Regarding ventilation/air flow, there is a point which can be too much, but I don't think you're anyway near that point m8 - you have a very small extractor and an oscillating fan, which is normal for a good grow of this size, and I'm sure the plants appreciate it :)

Buona giornata,

Ciao

He had a ghandi gal, a single bud of 50 cm, 2 week ago it was hard and heavy, he flushed for 2 week everytime with lot of water and when he cutted the plant she gave less crop than expected. the inside of the bud was highly airly!
