Auto Zam x (Auto Zam x GT 3) day 40 from seed (2022-07-30)
I have lost one plant of this line (the strongest, branchiest) due to mice (digging activities) inhabited at this location. Two are remaining. The pictures are showing the branchier individual that seems to be sativa dom pheno. I hope she get a large one.

KC x (Auto Zam x GT 3) two plants transplanted outdoors a few days after germination. The picture (taken this morning) is showing the remaining plant after the mice have killed the other. Seems to be once again a indica-rudelis phenotype. Sex isn´t clear yet.

(Auto Zam x GT 3) x Zamal A 75% (F2) auto. Pictures taken this moring.
I have already harvest the sativa-ruderalis plant (105 days from seed to harvest slightly overripe) and the sativa dom pheno (101 days from seed to harvest, ripe). I`ve begun to smoke the 10 days dried sativa dom pheno and even this not well cured buds are really tasty and giving me a well centered up high with psychedelic touches. The high lasts round about two hours (all in all really to my taste:rasta:).
The pictures are showing the third plant (sativa dom pheno) and the forth plant (sativa-ruderlias pheno). Every second plant of this line seems to be sativa dom. The smell of the sativa dom one is fairly sweet and fruity. The look reminds me slighly the GT 3 I`ve grown indoors two years ago. The smell of the ruderalis-sativa plant (like her already harvested sativa-ruderalis sister) is mainly floral.

Growing auto plants gives me a feeling of "security of supply". I don´t want to miss the photoperiodic strains, but the risk to not get a harvest is much higher because they need 180-200 days from seed to harvest.

KC x (Auto Zam x GT 3), F3 auto. Early flowering.
(Auto Zam x GT 3) x Zamal A 75%, F2 auto, two plants. Final reflowering. Harvest time not far.
Auto Zam x (Auto Zam x GT 3), F2 auto. Long african pistils. First resin.

pictures taken yesterday, 2022-08-12.
The autoflowering plants are handling permanent heat and drought very well. Only some older leaves yellowing.

Hello, after a long break, I am back with the becoming of the autoflowering lines based on Auto Zamaldelica. I am still working on the following lines (despite some setbacks):
1. (Auto Zam x GT 3) x Zamal A 75% (my favorite smoke at the moment),
2. Kali China x (Auto Zam x GT 3) and
3. GT 2 x (Auto Zam x GT 3) alias "GT 80" because of 80% Golden Tiger genetic content (at the moment F2 seeds are germinating).
I also like autoflowering Malawi x Northern Lights flowers very much. Last winter, I used Malawi pollen (which was mainly intended for a small Malawi reproduction) to pollinate a MA x NL Indica/Sativa phenos (fruit yoghurt smell).
I would like to post little by little, strain by strain, how things are going in the coming period.

Good to hear your progress,

Those (AutozamxGT) x ZamA look lovely, what kind of flavours you getting at the toke stage?

Whats the time frame you're selecting for - how many nodes do they start flowering? Doing any work with photoperiod strains outdoors too?

Did you see Madmac's latest outdoor work - (Iranianauto x OHz) x OHz, look interesting. I'm keeping an eye, as there are few northern outdoor sativa breeders selecting for effect and not only yield and potency.

Looking forward to the updates,
Cheers

Hi Bonghopper, thank you for your interest.

I don't know Madmac's posts. Iranian auto combined with Oldtimers Haze sounds very interesting.

There's enough to do with the autoflowering lines, so I don't have much capacity for photoperiod crossings. In order to complement the existing lines, however, there is occasionally a need to cross photoperiods. My current ideas go in the direction of Mauritius x Ethiope, Nepal Annapurna or Thai. Self-flowering lines are the only way for me to be able to grow tropical landrace genetics outdoors. My crossing fantasies always go far beyond what I can implement with my limited equipment and hidden conditions.

The 2022 outdoor harvested (AutoZam x GT3) x Zam A75 bring mainly woody and floral flavors smoked with a little tobacco. The smell of the ripe flowers of tropical fruits, which complements the woody, floral base, are reduced in taste and fade with increasing storage time. After a year of storage, however, the high has not gotten worse in any way. What I appreciate most about this line is the very clean and energetic high. A slight physical heaviness, as it sets in (for me) with pure Auto Zamaldelica after about 1 to 1.5 hours, is almost non-existent here. To take off further, you have to smoke a bag more. Then you'll also find the psychedelic peaks of Zamal A and GT 3. But that's not necessarily my mode in everyday life. The next morning I don't want to sag, which is always guaranteed with (AutoZam x GT 3) x Zam A 75 in small and medium doses .

Hey Paisajedehierba,

I hear you with the heavyness of the auto Zam, I didn't like it, glad to hear you selected that out.

Woody is good, I find it a common trait to energetic/clean, and also observed those kind of plants store very well too. How long was the flowering approx?

Like the sounds of your new direction, Ethiopian has been something calling me too
I am delighted to hear another northern outdoor grower selecting for - clean / energetic /no afterhigh /no sedation, I have been searching for this for 10+years and am looking for growers on the same path to share with.

I'm checking out Mexican strains this year - Mextiza S1, Mountain Gold, Verde Limon, - amazing vigour so far
Crossing to my septoria resistant UEL line
There is clean and energetic in there, but they need heavy selecting still,

Will be wonderful that you select out an Auto line with those desirable traits, are you planning on inbreeding/linebreeding the (AutoZam x GT3) x Zam A75 ?
Early flowering & early ripening photoperiods are another route - UEL is an example, starts flowering at about 16hrs, and has rapid maturity - a bit more forgiving than autos in terms of rootbinding and fertility.. and nearly there with selecting clean/no afterhigh
How are you finding the fertility requirements for the (AutoZam x GT3) x Zam A75, compared to Auto Zam?

Arnold (Outdoorking) has been working on UEL x Ohz - the same Ohz male Madmac selected, he was very happy, keep an eye out on s e e d h e a v e n next year.

By smoking a bag you mean vaping a balloon? I like the torch Elev8r personally, ever try that one?

Madmac's on the same page - we're all looking for northern sativa that are not day wreckers, and with no hangover. He has this high fixed with 14-16 week haze lines, indoors, and is working to get that high trait fixed with outdoor lines.
He's working with Original Haze - Seedsman & Golli, Tom Hills Haze and lots of other NLD types.
Well worth looking up his thread here: https://www.icmag.com/threads/madmacs-haze-and-haze-hybrids-grow-show.373518/page-81#post-18359793 I find it entertaining and educational!

Another great thread for the kind of high we like and education: https://www.icmag.com/threads/malawi-style-cob-curing.309936/page-328#post-18343590

Looking forward to your updates,

Cheers!

Hi bonghopper,
I hear you with the heavyness of the auto Zam, I didn't like it, glad to hear you selected that out.
... this was one goal, less heaviness. Still, I really appreciate Auto Zamaldelica. Auto Zam high is stronger and can be quite trippy. The more physical finish is also absolutely to be enjoyed. It just doesn't fit into my rhythm that often.
are you planning on inbreeding/linebreeding the (AutoZam x GT3) x Zam A75
(Auto Zam x GT3) x ZamA75 is still in F2 step. Originally I had about 60 F2 seeds and to get a completely auto flowering F3 generation was the goal. But I am not able to find sexualy firm males. There are only 9 seeds left. Enough to find A Zam 75 leaning girl if all sprout. To prevent loosing the whole line, I´ve tried to pollinate the plants outdoors two weeks ago, with 3 month old pollen of GT80 (F1 semiauto). If I get seeds this way, there is a chance to backcross to (Auto Zam x GT 3) x ZamA75 with the 9 seeds left. Further there are two Zamal A 75% seeds left. I should be able to increase the Zamal A 75 content of the autoflowering line again.

Good luck with your mexicans!
How are you finding the fertility requirements for the (AutoZam x GT3) x Zam A75, compared to Auto Zam?
It´s easy to get burned leaf tips using liquid organic fertilzer. Auto Zam accepts much better higher amounts of nutrients.

Madmac's on the same page - we're all looking for northern sativa that are not day wreckers
I read the last few pages of his thread. I keep my fingers crossed for his iranina x OTH x OTH line. His line has sativa content of round about 75%. This is the level of for example of Auto Zamaldelica. But it looks like MadMac selects well for sativa traits.

By smoking a bag you mean vaping a balloon? I like the torch Elev8r personally, ever try that one?
... bag is a translation error. To get higher you have to smoke two or three cigarettes (I usally don´t smoke big joints) of AutoZam x GT3) x ZamA75. Auto Zamaldelica is stronger.

(Auto Zam x GT 3) x Zam A 75: There are 5 F2 girls thriving outdoors at the moment. I´ve found 4 different phenos. The first two are the most promising for me (1. +/- Zamal A 75 leaning, 2. Auto Zamaldelica (mother) leaning ... dark green leaves, citric musky smells. I guess the plants would be more branched receiving more water, so there is columnar trend at moment. Weather is very warm, dry and sunny the last 2-3 weeks.
