I brushed then with my shins. But seeing as I walk lightly and with the grace of a gazelle whenever I 'm in the forest, I received only the mildest sting.

I chuckled when Rd used the word 'ging'. I know where you grew up, Rod!

I wonder if Blunts has trouble with the pronunciation of Gympie Gympie? Does yer, Blunts? I 've heard tourists say "Jim-pie" So these plants would be 'jim-pie jim-pie'.

Oh but what the fuck? I know a bloke that calls Colorado's: coll-or-a-does and caramels: ca-ramells.

Hope yr well Wall.

I'm a vegetarian but have been trying to bring myself to eating more meat.. I do prefer game when I do and love me a casserole. In my head I pronounce gympie as gympea. We get a plan here called onga onga, the spikes have a neurotoxin and cause a fair bit of pain.

The ginger possums are bastards to skin.

"grace of a gazelle" lol ..

all is well on the land of tables mate ,
hope your staying off the bathroom floor ?? hehe ..

In my defence I was only there to cool down and have a little rest. And only for the shortest while. What I can't figure out is seeing as we'd just had a health food sandwich how J 's chuck contained no solids while my one very small chuck contained only a few poppyseeds!

Howdy howdy.
Things are going well here, battling possums and vinehoppers. Hands still stink of possum fat and becoming an expert at making cages big enough to house animals lol...

This is also the resident ruru that keeps an eye on my trail into the swamp.

I like this! It's a Guardian, right? Like it encourages your actions? Things are OK while it's there?

We have Powerful Owls where I am. Their main food is possums!

Once I was walking in the bush by moonlight. I had a torch though and shone it in the trees at one point to find a pair of Powerful Owls looking down at me. One of them hooted. I was cleared to continue!!!

Hey hippie I like to think it's a guardian of some sort. I do feel good when I pass through this area. I seen it today again

I've always felt like owls are the keepers of the forest. Really cool you got a shot of one BnB, I've still never come across a morepork yet, hear them all the time though. Plants are looking great,I have a couple outside this year, nothings been that great sadly though.

Very cool owl. Nice pics from NZ too.
I'd never heard of a morepork owl. Thought you kiwi's were misspelling mopoke owl (aka boobook). Anyway great growing across the ditch. :gday:

Hope everyone’s plants are happy, the rains came in hard yesterday so it’s been shelter building and trips to Bunnings for a few days here. Done for now…

Hey man that looks pretty good. You get good air flow through there?

Thanks mate.
Yes it seems to be working well. Both ends are open and the roof is nice and high.

I’ve been pruning the inner small shoots and removing everything below the first net to keep it breezy underneath.

I've always wanted to build a roof for those really heavy downpours, something easily put up and pulled down. Perhaps pvc and some clear light.
