Don't worry mate the ones I pulled definitely had to go, they were ones I had my eye on prior.

Ahh okay that clears things up for me that it's got to be pollen to create seed. The next hard bit then is finding the pollen source. And with all the unknown and from hermy seed I guess we've got to leave it to nature and just monitor and react as necessary.

I've noticed a few branches on one side of the AK have started producing seed on the callyxs, by where the hermy I pulled out the other week. Is there a high chance this will spead to the rest of the plant/garden? If so, can we get away with just removing those branches and taking the loss?
Sorry for all the qs, really wanna get this right and save as much as I can haha.

Unless it pollinated itself you do not have to pull it. A few seeds is not the end of the world. Anything with male parts you will probably want to pull though.

It's only pollen that can create seed, it's not a trait of the strain. If you have seed, there is something creating pollen in your garden.

It can be almost impossible to keep pollen away in a garden that has plants going Hermi. So best of luck if you are seeing hermies pop out. You can expect 50 percent of that seed stock to throw hermie traits, if that seed stock was made with a hermaphrodite. So it can be fighting odds.

Hopefully just an odd plant threw some balls and it will be fine. It's very hard to tell unless you are on the ground, and even then it can be hard to tell.

But yeah, pull plants with male parts. If you see something that looks polinated, the cause of that could be very close by.

If you have a plant making pollen, pull the whole plant. It will continue to make pollen on other branches through the season. Not worth the risk removing branches

Water will kill existing pollen, so you can hose shit down. I can't remember how long pollen lives outdoors, but when you get rid of the source the polination should stop.

The AK that is seeded, if not making pollen the plant can stay, and so can all the branches. Seeds do not make seed, hermies and males do. But i'd def suspect the AK as a source as well and check it out for balls, especially directly above where you see seeds. The majority of the pollen will drop straight below.

Also i would bag hermies before pulling, if they are small enough and douse in water to kill any pollen. Easy to spread more when pulling.

nice and healthy fronk ,
good to hear the flowering has begun ,
hope the weather is kind to you man ...
Thanks mate. Very abnormal weather where I am to be honest at the moment. I guess we can only hope and wait and see.
They’re all quick finishers so I am pretty safe.

All three of my outdoor spots burned down, looks freaky. Glad I started something inside.

Thanks for that Pumpkin that's exactly what I need to know.

AK can stay as it's not producing pollen, just recieved a lil bit so will have some seeds.

We pulled another plant yesterday that looks so good but had a couple bananas coming out of the nugs. Was a shame but gotta do it to save the rest.

Will give everything another hose down when it's cooled down a bit.

Sorry to hear that Cakeboy. Sucks eh?

Pahut, sounds like you got the idea. Next year you are going to get better seeds and not have this sort of trouble :) I think most of us have been through it before. Can be pretty disappointing.
