Aussie bred candy

Here are a few shots of the Zoid Fuel that a mate of mine is growing out.
The beans were germed on January 1 so had a late start to the summer season. Plants went into flower quickly and are finishing out nicely. The aromas are already sweet and floral. Compliments to Moonunit for a great strain.

hey there i love aussie bred candy, i have just been gifted some seeds from a 60 year old grower who was growing the same strain for over 20 years the 2 main seeds gifted are supposidly Mullembimby madness and what he said he used to score as buddah in the compressed bricks from the mid to late 80,s, i had a smoke with him and boy did it take me back to when i was a teen laughing at the smallest thing ,munchies, paranoia, sweats and again laughing it was great only given about 8 seeds of each which are about 5 years old would love to get some of these fuel lines to get some breeding going, bring back the laughing gear

Re the Zoid, I think the biggest surprise for me was the high. I was very looking forward to the "no ceiling" effect that I had read about, and was delighted to find that there is in fact no ceiling. What I did notice the most was that within 5 minutes of smoking it, there was a very pronounced sensation of happiness that came over me in waves. This sensation is quite different to the euphoric effect IMO, in that the euphoria is there, but you actually feel "happy", "delighted", "and "content". This is the first time I have experienced that from any strain. Being a person who suffers depression, this was a HUGE plus for the strain! Combine aromas of candy and spice with a hint of mango, and being happy and having no ceiling makes this an award winning strain.

As Moonunit said to me, the strain is:

"Sort of like an anti-depressant for the soul - it will take the edge off the negative barrage the world throws at us, so we can regroup and heal that which otherwise we couldn't. I like to call it a day brightener; everything is that much richer in colour, texture, flavor, emotion and mood."

I could not have said it better!

The other thing I liked about the strain is that it finished out quite quickly, which is important being in Canberra where frosts come early.
All up I rate the Zoid as in the top 5 strains I have ever had the pleasure of smoking.

Cheers satanik, although believe it or not most aussie growers are blinded by imported lines, if it doesnt have a hyped name and come from overseas, most want nothing to do with it. Back in the cw days the few beans that made it to canada, usa and europe where rated extremely highly, yet in oz couldnt be given away as most growers where and are to busy growing their imported indicas to give some local breeding a go( unless it was a simple cross of 2 imported lines). The work continues though and the genetics are spread amongst a few select sativa heads.

I take your point but from my knowledge, and I could be wrong, But these so called "Dutch" strains are indeed strains that were actually developed here on the north coast of NSW Australia, by Shantibaba and taken to Amsterdam by Neville shoenmacher to start up supply initially for the Sensi Seed bank. read nevilles haze, its a sativa.

Hi all and ty for all the replies
Looks great moose, and im so glad the high was what u noticed as that was the number one priority for breeding this line and most of our lines. Work continues on these lines aswell as some new hybrids to make the indica fans happy :) , i will be around abit more again and will drop some more news and pics as they happen.

Joe, you are right in a way m8, shanti grew up around the same area as me in australia, and nev spent alot of his younger years here aswell. As for the genetics i think if u research the lines both these great breeders worked with u will find no mention of genetics from australia ever in the genetic make up of their lines. Also sams skunk1 which is the back bone of the dutch genepool has no genetics sourced from australia in it. But i also must say i didnt mean dutch genetics are bad, on the contrary, they have some great lines come from their genepool, but i just get sad when alot of aussie growers think the best only comes from a dutch seed bank or cannabis cup winner, when we have a unique and beautiful genepool here in oz. Currently im working on hybrids of some of our aussie genetics with some cali, and dutch genetics that i feel will blend well and make the indica and indica dom folks happy, but retain some uniqueness aswell.
Anyways much respect to all, more to come soon

Hi Moonunit good to see your breeding is still going. Is there any chance you will release any seeds through the bay or boo as us VB drinkers down here are very interested in the Zoid line and none of us have seen it before your earlier photos are amazing, keep up the good work.
