I have been hearing of people being offended with all sorts of monuments for a long time. Maybe with all the sports and everything being cancelled we can finally discuss improving things. There is no logical reason to have a monument of any person that has a history of violence or oppresion displayed in any public place. Maybe in a museum next to some pictures an explanations on the history.
I agree. We should tear down everything because I'm sure that somebody, somewhere might be offended. Certain natural formations should be removed as well because they promote racist, sexist, potentially transphobic, patriarchal oppression of minorities, specifically anything that could be construed as phallic. Such as this rock.

Not at all what I meant.

Is it that much of a mental challenge to understand the difference between a penis shaped rock and a slave owner?

Maybe you feel owned by the giant rock cock? Is that it?

That's the wrong question. You should ask:
"Why is Trump and Republicans still not #OFFENDED by Confederate Statues?"

When I get a chance I will ride over to Pulaski TN, Maple Hill Cemetary, and see how my G3 uncle's grave site is doing. Major in the 3rd TN Infantry Regiment. I spent some good money I didn't have at the time repairing his headstone.

The SCV pooled moolahs and fixed the statue of John Brown, who was the Regiment commander, and later became Governor.

History, not hate. Why be offended?

Maybe I do and who the fuck are you to trivialize my feelings? If it offends even one person it needs to go and it offends me so get rid of it. You can simply add it to the list. Put it in a museum if you want to but it has no place in a civilized society.

The war on monuments could have been a show of distain...but now that they attacked Grant? Washington? ....now it's just a ignorant angry mob that have neutered the very message they were hoping to convey...now just thugs and vandals with no credibility and no historical knowledge

You can tear down all the monuments of history in a country both good or bad
But you will never eliminate that which is embedded in the hearts and souls of a nation's people, this is a foundation that will never be toppled

If a man has a particularly small penis, in a society where men are always comparing penis size as proof of their 'superiority'... he may find himself offended.

In the UK they are going after Gandhi's statue/monument now and Winston Churchill's -

- which is downright bloody ridiculous -

How dare you assume that all men have penises???!!! Or that only men have penises??? And the gendered language and assumption of pronouns is inexcusable. I'm even more offended now. What is wrong with you you goddamn transphobe? There's no place in our society for the type of bigotry you've displayed. You belong in a museum.

And let gravity sort the bad ones from the good ones? :chin:

What is wierd, is we are brothers in something tangible - dope, yet we fight over something so nebulous - religion.

Religions are belief systems that are essentially peoples relationship with their maker and visions of eternity. Some of them or may not be rooted in fact.

People start wars over this stuff. Some people genuinely believe others are going to hell over some of these belief systems.

I am not a fan of any of it. The earth literally grows plant teachers that religious systems prohibit in order to keep truth from the people. I would rather get my info direct from the source than a book that has been edited more times than we can count.

A few years ago I wished someone Merry Christmas. I was told (by her) she was an atheist. Oh, sorry! What are you doing Fri morning (Christmas). Opening "Christmas presents"!

I don't know about this. Maybe there's a backstory about Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben's rice that I don't know about. I've always enjoyed having Aunt Jemima watch me enjoy her syrup on my pancakes, and Uncle Ben's rice has always been on point. Will they change them for Aunt Ruth and Uncle Frank's? Just doesn't seem right.

I only see Black folk representing good food. Please, someone unpack this for me.
Considering you live in the fuken heartland of maple syrup why would you drink corn syrup? I think they should protest weaves too
