If the stuff is corn syrup instead of Maple syrup, fergit it.

There was a restraunt chain back in the day, not so long ago, called "Sambos"... that had menues with the story of where their pancakes and syrup came from. Little Sambo and the tiger... here is an article:

I think I ate lunch at the last Sambos in Santa Barbara with my Mother, but didn't connect at the time the history.

Careful there...my lil black sambos post was deleted
Apparently we are not all well steeped in children's classic storybooks

I like Aunt Jemima:) ... complete ...

Mrs Butterworth would bust a cap in aunt jemimas
Ass... no comparison

Aunt jemima ( Annie Dunbar) had a lifetime contract with Quaker
And she used her money to support Alot of civil rights agendas...apparently she will no longer collect
Royalty checks for her likeness...shame that

And looks like Famous Amos will be back on the streets
pushing his chips.....

It´s some years ago, but here in Germany it´s no more allowed to say Negerkuss (Negrokiss) to this, now it´s called chocokiss.

As a child, i remember Uncle Bens well, his american accent in german Translation. It was something Special to see a negro in White german tv in the late 60s.

- When I was first out in Asia during the early 80's - they had this toothpaste called 'Darkie' - and it was quite good - but due to PC laws etc - they changed the name to: 'Darlie' -

*I always wondered if the man on the Darkie box wanted to be retired so suddenly - and the job given to some white-boy - lol

neoliberalism at it's finest. nothing but window dressing to makeit look like youre addressing the problems without actually doing anything. and it has a two fold effect because now everyones going to be talking about it.

That's Liberalism.
You wouldn't think it by its name, but Neoliberalism is like the super evil hooker girlfriend of neoconservatives. Seriously pro business at all costs. Let them eat cake, then we'll eat them type of evil.

Here's something from my childhood - and every Brit old enough should remember Robertson's Jam - and the Robertson's 'Golly's' -

The deal was that for every jar of Robertson's jam you bought - you would get a little paper Golly - you saved up 10 paper Gollys then you could send off for a Golly badge/pin - then you would get the badge by post - and can eventually acquire a whole set of Gollys - if you bought enough jam -

- I wonder if 'Snow White' will go the same way as the Gollys? - into history -

What is hilarious is the fact the demonrats have always held the poor negro down, the real party of slavery. There was a Negro Republican party... It is a fact that the Southern states i the USA would consistently vote Democrat, because Republicans were the party of Lincoln, who destroyed the South.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negro_Republican_Party

The media has really shaped people's thinking, but surely for the people's own good.

You can't compare parties in that historical context.

Yesterday's Republicans are today's Democrats. And vice versa.

Lincoln would be a Democrat today.

Why aren't Democrats not offended by Yale, which was founded by, and named after a slave trader? Why haven't all the alumni apologized for supporting slavery? Or the faculty? The racism needs to end and the only way to do it is to call to account the racist bigots who support these atrocities.

I have been hearing of people being offended with all sorts of monuments for a long time. Maybe with all the sports and everything being cancelled we can finally discuss improving things. There is no logical reason to have a monument of any person that has a history of violence or oppresion displayed in any public place. Maybe in a museum next to some pictures an explanations on the history.
